The God of Calamity’s Wife

Centuries ago, war shattered Asgard. Tired of living in the shadow of the Aesir, Loki and his creatures of chaos sought the respect they believed was their due. Their rebellion, however, brought only death, exile, and the fleeting victory of the Aesir. But gods cannot die forever, and Loki’s defeat came with a prophecy: the war would come again, and next time, he would be ready. Many began to question whether Odin was truly fit to rule the realms. (But that was not my concern. I am an entity of death, a Fylgia bound to the cycles of life and fate. My interest lies elsewhere—with two souls cursed by Odin to live, die, and repeat their lonely existence for eternity. Sirius and Saoirse. For centuries, I’ve watched them endure lives destined for isolation and suffering. I’ve grown tired of their pain. What if they didn’t have to be alone? What if I could give them a chance to defy fate? And, perhaps, what if I could become part of the story that I’ve shaped? These were my thoughts leading up to the beginning of this story. But meddling with destiny has consequences. I probably should have paid more attention to that war, because what I didn’t realize was, by changing one thing, a ripple would expand across the realms that nobody could have anticipated.) Sirius and Saoirse, they weren’t just any Vampire and Werewolf that could have been brought together. They are creatures that must come to terms with the demon beasts inside of them or bringing them together might just end up finishing what Loki’s children had started. author note: This story builds a bit slower at the beginning and then picks up more action when they get to Asgard, so don’t worry, this book will have 500 chapters and this is just the beginning!

66- I’m still Sirius, right?

As the winged beast touched down, he released Saoirse, Sroka, and Lachlan.

Then Sirius began pacing, shrill sounds coming out of his beastly mouth.

"I can't understand you!" Saoirse said, looking around to try and figure out where they were. Sroka was holding Lachlan and watched as the beast paced around, seeming upset about something.

"Shriaaaaaaaaaa!" It's shrill sounds came out of its mouth, and then it's breath hitched, rasping and wet, with a wheezing, almost gurgling quality as it struggled to rid itself with the contents of its stomach.

To no avail.

"What's wrong with it?" Sroka asked Saoirse. "Why can't he turn back?"

"Sirius, is that your beast? Can you talk to me? I know you can speak, I've heard it before!" She said cautiously. She didn't know his beast, but he must know her. For this reason, she decided not to be afraid.

Sirius opened his mouth to speak, "I'm trying!" He exclaimed. But only a low glutorial bark came out. It wasn't like the bark of a wolf necessarily, but dragons didn't sound like that.

She backed away as he snapped his jaws; his words had been misinterpreted as him trying to make her stay away.

"Well you don't have to be rude." Saoirse retorted. Even if she could speak while being a wolf, his bark had sounded snarky.

"I'm not being rude!" He growled. It came out like a bellowing "Roooooooough."

Sroka tugged on the Luna's sleeve, what is he your majesty? She was admiring his features, but she had never seen a beast like that before.

Sirius turned away from them and resumed trying to rid himself of the meal he had earlier. His bloodlust had gotten the better of him, and he regretted eating those people.

Come on, it felt liberating to eat Odin and Nanna. Taz said to him, interrupting his thoughts. He wasn't letting Sirius throw them up. If you throw them up now, Odin is bound to get revenge!

"Just shut up! I can't turn back into my human form like this!" He shouted at himself.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" Sirius was shrieking like a banshee mixed with a wolf, his snarls coming out like legions creatures in one. He seemed to be arguing with himself right now or going mad. Fire burst from his mouth and burned the grass with his frustration.

Saoirse and Sroka covered their ears. "I don't know what he is!" Saoirse yelled over the noise. Lachlan crawled around on the grass, intimidating his father.

"Grrrrrrr!!!!!!" He said dramatically as he stomped around in circles.

Sirius was flapping his wings now, throwing his whole body into the movement of trying to get all of the bodies out of him. Bloody saliva dripped from his mouth and he turned towards Saoirse, looking for help, but not knowing how to ask. "Why can't I speak?" He yelled at Taz.

"Rrrlaaaaaa!!!!!" His shrieking came out again.

Even Taz was covering his ears. Because youre a beast of Nidavelir! He grumbled, This is your true form! You are incapable of pronouncing human words."

Ive got to get these people out of me! Sirius exclaimed, this time in his mind so that nobody would hear more shrieking.

You should be proud of your true language. Taz scoffed.

"I am no beast of the realm of dark elves!" Sirius shrieked. He had stopped pacing by now and was definitely talking to himself. Saoirse and Sroka watched him for a bit as he conversed with some invisible person.

"What should we do if he's gone crazy?" Sroka asked. "What if his beastly form has taken his mind?"

"He did save us." Saoirse said, perhaps we should take Lachlan and search for a place of shelter. She picked up Lachlan off the ground and took Sroka by the hand.

"It's really hot here." Sroka complained after a bit of walking. "Will the vampire prince be able to find us if we walk too far?"

"He will be alright, he can sense me and he can smell me as well." She said. "Besides, maybe once we know where we will stay, you can teleport us back to him and let him know."

Sroka nodded. They had found themselves in a valley of death and fire. The ground was made of sand, which washed up from a great river that carved through the landscape. She ground beneath their feet was once melted by lava that flowed beneath it, and had turned to shining obsidian glass.

Steam escaped from small cracks, most likely left by the weight of large beasts that had walked here. All around them there were small craters, which were really footprints.

Sroka held on tighter to Saoirse as she followed her. "Over there!" Saoirse whispered, "I see a cave!"

Sirius was busy speaking with Taz and never noticed the girls leave with Lachlan.

I won't waste my time explaining it to you right now. Taz simply said to Sirius regarding the origins of his unusual beast form and shifting ability that no other vampire, not even his father possessed.

"We are creatures of chaos, made by Loki!" Sirius shrilled.

"That may be true on your paternal side. Your father is the son of Fenrir, the Norse god, father of werewolves. That much is true." Then he paused, a smirk curling at the edge of Sirius' beast's lips, an involuntary movement that Taz had done. "But tell me…. Did you ever think to ask him who his mother was?"

Sirius frowned. "My grandmother was a dark elf then?"

"The very woman who forged mjölnir, Thor's hammer." Taz said proudly. Though her brothers took the credit. Her race may have been wiped out by Odin, but her bloodline lives on with you. Why else did you think that werewolves reincarnate into such dark creatures? Loki has his purposes. It is all just a guise to bring back the dark elves. Every single one of your descendants will be the reincarnation of a fallen ancestor. With me being the first. You see, Alastor doesn't have a beast inside of him like you do, I would love to tell you why, but then I would have to tell you about your mother, and that is for another day.

But lets just say that he wouldn't have been able to survive such a bond.
