The God of Calamity’s Wife: before the beginning book 1

caution: violent scenes and child endangerment- this is a post war world set in Norse mythology and the world is on the brink of war again- Centuries ago, war shattered Asgard. Tired of living in the shadow of the Aesir, Loki and his creatures of chaos sought the respect they believed was their due. Their rebellion, however, brought only death, exile, and the fleeting victory of the Aesir. But gods cannot die forever, and Loki’s defeat came with a prophecy: the war would come again, and next time, he would be ready. Many began to question whether Odin was truly fit to rule the realms. (But that was not my concern. I am an entity of death, a Fylgia bound to the cycles of life and fate. My interest lies elsewhere—with two souls cursed by Odin to live, die, and repeat their lonely existence for eternity. Sirius and Saoirse. For centuries, I’ve watched them endure lives destined for isolation and suffering. I’ve grown tired of their pain. What if they didn’t have to be alone? What if I could give them a chance to defy fate? And, perhaps, what if I could become part of the story that I’ve shaped? These were my thoughts leading up to the beginning of this story. But meddling with destiny has consequences. I probably should have paid more attention to that war, because what I didn’t realize was, by changing one thing, a ripple would expand across the realms that nobody could have anticipated.) Sirius and Saoirse, they weren’t just any Vampire and Werewolf that could have been brought together. They are creatures that must come to terms with the demon beasts inside of them or bringing them together might just end up finishing what Loki’s children had started. The problem is, all they want is a legacy. author note: This story builds a bit slower at the beginning and then picks up more action when they get to Asgard, so don’t worry, this book will have 500 chapters and this is just the beginning!

63- Don’t say my name!

With a roar, Odin lunged, his spear streaking through the air like lightning. Taz dodged with supernatural speed, the ground cracking beneath his feet as he countered with a bone-crushing punch aimed at Odin's chest.

The clash sent shockwaves through his body, making Odin stumble a bit and breaking the bones in Sirius' hand. He cursed under his breath because his weak humanoid form was so inconvenient and he wasn't used to controlling it.

The battle raged, a storm of power and fury. Odin's divine strikes clashed against Taz's raw, primal strength. Each blow seemed to tear the other apart, the ground splintering under their feet as they traded attack after attack.

Taz roared, his eyes glowing with feral intensity. "You've ruled long enough, old man!" he snarled, dodging a spear thrust and slamming Odin into the nearby table. Hoping to impale him on the table leg. The table leg shattered under the force, sending shards flying.

Even Taz was impressed.

Odin yelled, gripping his spear tightly as he stood. "You are nothing but a beast pretending to be a God. I will show you what it means to stand before a real God."

With a mighty sweep of his spear, a wave of golden energy shot toward Taz, threatening to consume him. But Taz held his ground, digging his claws into the earth as he braced for impact. Then he blew fire at the bolt. The hot air redirecting the bolt. It deflected off and hit the wall. Valkyrie screamed and ran out of the way; some diving to the floor as if it was dodgeball.

Taz laughed and then he shifted into a wolf, barking orders to his new wolf lackeys. Almost like a silent beast acknowledgment that he was their real king, not Odin, the hellhounds lunged at Odin.

He saw them coming and swiped his spear at them, causing a blur of golden light. It went at them with such a precise speed, he could tell that he was giving it his all in that thrust, intending to slash both of their necks for the second time, but all that happened was the bladed end passed through as if swiping a stick through a flamed candle, and each of their skulls went flying, as if Odin had hit them with a golf club.

One smashed through the wall, and the other one hit Nanna, putting a hole through her and killing her instantly.

Odin, unphased ended his swing by switching directions, and this time sending a blow downwards at Taz's head, intending to end the fight in a single strike.

But Taz was faster. He sidestepped. The blade cutting off some of his fur. The spear stabbed into the floor, sending pieces of stone flying.

"You're getting slow old man." Taz exclaimed with excitement. He kicked Odin away from his spear and Taz and the hellhounds began circling Odin like a predator stalking its prey.

He feigned a lunge, snapping his teeth at Odin, his hellhounds tried to do the same thing, but they still had no heads. Only the black flames of mist that wafted from their shoulders. Odin shot a bolt of lightning towards him, which he dodged by summoning Nanna's body. He caused the flash to hit Nanna instead. Odin sent another and he dodged that too, Nanna acting as a human shield, willingly running towards all of the blasts.

Several of them hit the walls, burning a pattern of spidery veins into them.

He snapped his teeth at Odin a few times before pivoting and slamming his claws into Odin's side. The Allfather grunted, his armor denting under the force. Then his claws raked through the air, inches from Odin's throat.

Time seemed to stop for a minute there as Odin couldn't come up with a way to escape his fate.

But then suddenly, Saoirse regained consciousness.

"Sirius!" She cried. She carefully got up. All of her wounds had healed. She didn't know what had happened, but Sirius was a crazed wendigo and he was about to take off Odin's head.

At the sound of her voice, Sirius snapped back into control. His eyes went wide at the sight of Odin underneath him, his foot was on Odin's chest.

His head was spinning from the fight that had gone on in his mind. He had finally emerged when his body was close to death. "What were you thinking, defying me!" He yelled at his beast in his mind, but his mouth voiced the words. He wasn't used to navigating his body anymore. He was disoriented for a moment.

His body had been burning the entire time that he spent as a wolf. Even the alligator form had left him at least dehydrated. "Remind yourself next time beast that our body will die with you in charge! You cannot be whatever form you want in Odin's presence!"

He was burned worse than when he had faced Linus. Blood, I need blood. His mind cried out. His wounds refused to close. Saoirse was in a similar condition as him. Burned even though she wore the cloak.

As much as Taz didn't care about pain, he had actually been hit several times and not even noticed it. Stab wounds bled out from his chest and abdomen.

I didn't notice I swear! Taz exclaimed, let me back out! I was taking down Odin!

Sirius became a wendigo once again and attempted to back away from Odin, "Why am I facing Odin?!" He cried out. "What did you do?"

Odin was confused by Sirius' sudden change in demeanor. Had he really gone mad? He stood up cautiously as Sirius backed away.

Backing up, Sirius suddenly fell backwards, nearly falling over as he tripped over something….a body...what?..The beta's body. What on earth? Then he saw Nanna dead on the ground as well.

"TAZ! WHAT DID YOU DO?!!!!!" He cried out, nearly throwing up.

"DONT SAY MY NAME YOU IDIOT!" Taz yelled out loud, but Odin had already heard him.
