Knock, knock, knock.

"Enter."

"Please excuse me. I have some news about Lady Catherina," the man who entered the room said, his voice cold and his head bowed.

"Let me hear it," said a man sitting on a bed, next to two naked women sleeping. He felt delighted at the unexpected news.

"According to our spies dispatched to the Marquis' territory, lady Catherina had just returned from her vacation three months ago, but..."

"What are you talking about?"

"They also said that lady Catherina... brought a man home with her," he completed his report, then quiet filled the room as the man on the bed remained mute. He was lost in thought.

"Haa. Why am I thinking about such foolish things? She just brought a man with her; that doesn't mean they're in a relationship already. Still, it irritates me. You refuse my proposal every time, and now you return with a man along with you."

"Go investigate about the man with her and report back to me after you successfully gather all the information."

"Catherina, don't think you can escape from me."

He said as he let out his anger by putting his hands on top of one of the girl's bottom and started kneading her ass roughly, causing her to moan.

'Hmmm? A piece of my skin just fell off.' Sian looked at his finger before he went in front of the room and knocked three times.

"Lady Catherina, breakfast is ready. Also, we will be departing for the academy at noon, so we only have two hours left."

The door opened as soon as he finished saying his words, revealing a girl in a blue dress inside.

"I've been waiting for you, Sian. Come, let's go to the dining table." Said the girl, and she walked past Sian and started skipping along the way.

Sian smiled at her behavior. After knowing her for a month, they got a little closer, and with that, he got to know her a little better.

She was aloof and cold in front of others, but to her family and close friends, she is sweet, loving, and occasionally childish and stubborn.

He followed her to the table, where she sat down and Sian stood behind her. She gave him a frown and urged him to sit down and eat.

"But lady Catherina I'm your butler, and I should only be eating after you finish yours."

"I don't care about that. Just sit down and eat with me." This is what he meant by childish and stubborn behavior, but he wasn't annoyed by it; instead, for some reason, he found it cute.

After a series of refusals, he admitted defeat. He sighed and sat down. The girl beside him was grinning proudly.

'Cute.' He thought, but didn't say it aloud. He began eating with her, and in the middle, he realized something.

'Well, this is... fun in its own way.'

Several minutes passed, and the food on their plates was now gone. Now they wait. Though waiting for two hours is pretty boring, Sian showed Catherina his current progress in Aeven.

He managed to enter the ranks of the 1st stage of heaven, allowing him to manifest mana. She was surprised when she learned that. After all, Sian only started learning about Aeven a month ago.

She considered him a genius, just like her. She managed to manifest her mana in a month after learning about it, so they were similar in that aspect. Also, she was in the top rank of her stage on the Angia continent, so not many were able to contend with her.

But the truth is, Sian actually manifested Aeven after only a moment of learning about it. It was quite easy for him. Though he didn't reveal it nor did he want to advance a stage yet. He wasn't stupid. News of him manifesting Aeven in a single day would only attract unwanted and troublesome attention, so it was better to keep it a secret.

Even so, he wouldn't be holding back that much when he enters the academy. Just like any other man, he also wanted to show off, fight, and get stronger while being a mortal. So using his godly powers was a no-go. After all, he wanted to live the life of a mortal.

That's why he'll get stronger only by mortal means so that he can have a 'fair' fight against his opponents.

Two hours passed while they were talking and Sian was demonstrating his power. A loud roar resounded in the mansion, coming from outside and interrupting their talk. Sian and Catherina nodded at each other.

"I guess it's time to leave, lady Catherina."

"Yeah I guess so. Then let's hurry outside." She ran to the entrance of the mansion, arriving in only a matter of seconds.

Outside, they saw a familiar white wyvern, and next to it were her parents and brother, who came to bid her farewell. They walked towards them and hopped on the wyvern's back.

"Good bye, sister Catherina! You too, mister!"

"Farewell, Catherina, and you too, Sian. Please take good care of my daughter." Miss Avier gave Sian a suggestive wink. He was confused at first, but he soon got what she meant. So he responded with a wry smile.

Looking at her wife winking at Sian after speaking those words, Marquis Avier also gave Sian a wink, though an awkward one.

They were treating him as if he were their son-in-law even though they had only met each other for a day. Sian knew the reason why. It was because of his pure aura, and with that, people knew that he was a good person.

That's not the only reason. After all, Sian wasn't the only one with a pure aura, but it was also because he was the first man to be close to Catherina with the exception of her father and brother.

It was like a cliche where a girl who is very cold towards men starts getting close with the protagonist, surprising everyone. Still, you can't say it's a bad cliche.

Maya wasn't able to come along with them to the academy, so Sian has been learning how to not fall if they were flying on a wyvern. By using Aeven to stick his body to the wyvern, he was able to achieve that. Now he doesn't need any more support.

The wyvern took off for the sky at incredible speeds, reaching the clouds in a matter of moments. The takeoff once again created a shockwave, but this time it vanished before it could even damage the surroundings below. Sian looked down. He knew Marquis Avier was the one responsible.

He turned his attention back and looked at the surrounding clouds. It was really an amazing sight to behold. The sea of clouds looked like a ground of marshmallows while they were flying above them. It was really an amazing view, no matter how many times they saw it.

"GRROAAAHHR!" An ear-piercing roar resounded above the clouds. It was coming from a few miles away, but it was still loudly audible to their ears.

Catherina turned to look at the source of its location. Her eyes glowed neon blue. She was using her Aeven to enhance her eyesight, causing it to glow. At her stage, seeing things a few miles away was an easy task, so she was able to see the one responsible for the roar.

A large dragon, multiple times the size of the wyvern, was speeding towards them. Unlike the wyvern, it was a true dragon. There were two types of dragons: those who are intelligent and have gained sentience and human forms, and those who were unable to gain sentience and remained with their dragon forms, living by only their instincts.

The one in front of them seemed to belong to the latter, as it was looking at them like a wolf looking at its prey. Though it wasn't intelligent, you can't underestimate its strength. A dragon is still a dragon after all.

Catherina immediately ordered the wyvern to turn back. With her current strength, fighting a dragon was equivalent to suicide. But before the wyvern even had the chance to turn back, something unexpected happened.

The dragon disappeared. Gone from existence as if it never existed in the first place. Catherina was confused and warily scanned her surroundings, which covered a few miles. The dragon was really gone.

So she ordered the wyvern to once again move forward to their destination. This time, she was on guard for anything unexpected that might happen. As for Sian behind her, he was playing with a tiny dragon on the palm of his hands. The tiny dragon was able to move, but it dared not do so in his grasp.

Their flight from then on went smoothly with no interference, enabling them to safely arrive at the academy.

The academy was a few hundred miles away from the capital, so it took more than an hour to arrive even with the wyvern.

The capital was near the sea, and if you want to travel there from the capital by land, you need to go through three mountain ranges with a monster filled forest in between before you can arrive at the academy, which was surrounded by mountains.

There were three mountains in total that were surrounding the academy, and each of them was tall enough to reach the clouds. Also on top of each mountain is a large temple that belonged to the three gods of the human race and everyone was forbidden entry into. Well, not to mention forbidden entry, most won't even be able to climb them.

'A temple that belongs to the gods? Well, let's check it out later.'

Sian was thinking of doing something ridiculous. If anyone knew what he was thinking about, they would've questioned if he was right in the head. Then suddenly a white cat jumped on Sian's shoulder, startling Catherina, who was next to him.

"What is that?"

"It's a cat, Lady Catherina."

"I know that... but is it yours?"

"Not really, it just jumped on my shoulder as soon as we landed on the ground."

"It really likes you, huh?"

"I guess so."

Catherina didn't ask any questions anymore. The cat snuggled up to Sian, licking him and rubbing its face happily on his cheek.

"Let's head inside or we will be late for the first class in the afternoon." She said she was walking ahead of Sian and towards the entrance of the academy.
