Card aquired

Levi played with the card, the background highlighted the white text.

[Leviathan] [Adventurer] [Tier : F] [Archetype : %%%] [Focus : %%%] [Guild : - ] [Highest Floor : - ]

He flipped it over, the back was blank.

Tama closed the door of the room they were in, and only Kathy stayed behind.

They both sat across Levi, as they watched him study his card.

"More will be added to it as you progress through the Tower," said Tama.

"What do you know about the Tower?" Kathy asked, leaning forward with interest.

"Nothing much," admitted Levi. "All I know is that I can start an adventure."

Kathy's smile grew while Tama rolled her eyes.

"Hell yeah! That's the spirit! Most people focus on money or power but not many will take the time to adventure," she said as she extended her card.

Levi took it, it's background was mainly red, as he looked at the back of it he realized it wasn't empty.

[Priestess of the Goblin clan]

"Huh?" he said as he looked at her from top to bottom. "Priestess?"

"The quest wanted us to get rid of the goblins but they were rowdy because their priestess had passed away, I took the role of priestess and performed their ritual and they stopped raiding, completing the quest and making me a Goblin Priestess."

Levi arched his eyebrows as he nodded. "Impressive, actually."

"Hell yeah, but most of the time that'll give you the least, killing goblins and looting them would yield better results. Just try to figure out what suits you best," said Kathy.

Levi rubbed his chin, contemplating.

Well, money's good but being sent to an alternate world to work the Tower like a 9 to 5... I can't believe anyone would be fine with that.

"Well whatever you do, the adventurer's guild offers a lot. Out here we mainly issue cards and quests from people in the kingdom. We have other branches inside the tower, they'll explain more about how everything works," said Tama.

Levi handed Kathy's card back with a nod. "Impressive," he said.

Tama got up, and everyone followed her lead as she headed for the exit.

"Alright, just show that card whenever you want to go in and they'll let you through," said Tama.

"Thanks for everything," he replied.

As they exited the room, Kathy and Levi went toward the front desk, while Tama went further in the back.

"It was nice meeting ya, I hope we meet in the Tower and get to partner up! I'm a frontliner, ya look like a caster so we're a good match," she winked.

"Yeah, actually sounds like a good idea, when's the next time you go in?"

Kathy's eyebrows raised. "I Didn't think ya'd actually jump on the offer, that does make happy. I'm going back in around two days, I'll be staying at the adventurer's inn, find me there!"

"I will," he replied.

As they both arrived at the bar area, they parted ways, waving their hands one last time.

Levi did his best to go through the crowd again but realized it only got more packed as time leaned toward the night.

He received a few elbows on his ribs, while some people's backs pushed him around. As he finally arrived at the exit, opened the doors to a scenery he didn't expect.

A bunch of people were on the ground, as they held their sides or stomachs groaning in pain.

Aya was still standing where she said she'd wait, but Grant was missing.

She smiled, as Levi walked up to her avoiding stepping on anyone who was on the ground.

"How was it?"

"It was okay, but uh what happened here?"

"Ah..."

Levi slightly tiled his head, while she was trying to find the words.

"Well, Grant was waiting with me but some passerby tried hitting on me, I did tell them you were the only one in my heart-"

What the hell did you tell them???

"And they said 'if he ain't here he don't like you' to which I slapped him, then as he tried slapping back Grant sent him rolling."

"Ah, I see, but what about like all the other ones on the floor?"

"Well... When he sent him flying, some people rushed out of the tavern claiming 'The brawl is happening outside guys!' he's now waiting in the carriage," she said as she pointed toward it.

Levi's dumbfounded expression froze him for a moment until he decided to totally ignore and discard what he was just told.

"Good! So the card is done," he said as he gave it to Aya.

She looked at it for a moment, her mouth open.

"Wow, it's the first black one I've seen!"

"Yeah that's what they said too, now that I have it we can start planning the adventure!"

"Speaking of, we are not done yet, we need to get you some supplies!"

"Ah, since we're here we might as well," replied Levi.

~~~
"You know, this isn't what I had in mind," said Levi as the waitress set ice cream glasses on the table.
On the other side of the table, Aya was smiling as she was kicking her feet under the table.
"Our first date!"
"What you said was, and I quote, 'By heavens, I'm so hungry this may be the end of me. What is it I see? A refreshment establishment? Let us replenish ourselves there!'"
"Potato tomato, just enjoy the moment," she said while her smile brightened.
Levi sighed and dug in his ice cream. It wasn't as bad as he thought, if anything it resembled what he knew in his own world.
Quickly, he took a few more bites.
"See, not so bad is it?" asked Aya.
"Yeah, actually pretty good."
"I used to come here when I was younger, it looked a lot different. Thunder came with me, but only after I annoyed him for hours."
Her smile softened as she recalled the warm memories.
"You were close?"
"Yeah, when younger we were closer. Eventually, I was taken away, and he had his problems too so we didn't see each other as much."
As they talked, Levi could feel the pressure of the stares. The people sitting at other tables were whispering and looking at them.
"You sure get a lot of attention," said Levi as he was close to finishing his portion.
"Just not from the people I'd want it from."
That last sentence slightly confused Levi, but he finished, taking his last bite.
"What now?" he asked.
"When we're done here, we'll go see an old friend of yours."
Levi's curiosity piqued. "Who do you mean?" he asked, but Aya just smiled mysteriously.
