A Plan for Survival

"What exactly happened back there?" she asked, her eyes wide with fear and confusion.

I took a deep breath, trying to collect my thoughts. "I have a little bit of magic in me," I explained, trying to keep my voice steady. "I was able to put those bodyguards to sleep, giving us a chance to escape."

She stared at me for a moment, her mouth hanging open in shock. "Magic?" she repeated, as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing. "But how is that possible?"

I shrugged, not knowing how to explain it to her. "I don't know," I admitted. "It's something I've always had, but I never really knew how to control it. It just sort of happens when I need it to."

She shook her head, still trying to wrap her mind around the idea of magic. "I've never met anyone with magic before," she said, her voice filled with awe.

"It's not something that's very common," I replied, glancing at her out of the corner of my eye. "But it's something that has saved my life more than once. And I'm glad that it was able to help us tonight."

She nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Well, I'm glad you have it," she said, giving me a small smile. "And I'm glad you're with me. I don't know what I would do without you."

I smiled back at her, feeling a surge of gratitude and affection. We had been through a lot together in the last few days, and I knew that we were going to need each other more than ever in the days to come.

"I'm glad I'm with you too," I said, reaching out to take her hand. "And I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe. No matter what it takes."

"You know, love at first sight is a strange thing," I said, glancing over at her.

She looked at me, her eyes curious. "What do you mean?"

I shrugged, trying to put my thoughts into words. "I never believed in it before," I explained. "But the moment I saw you, I knew that I had to have you. It was like something just clicked inside of me, and I knew that you were the one for me."

She blushed, her cheeks turning pink. "That's so sweet," she said, her voice soft.

I grinned, feeling a surge of happiness. "I know it's cheesy," I said, squeezing her hand. "But it's the truth. I'm so glad that I met you."

She smiled back at me, her eyes shining with love. "Me too," she said, leaning over to kiss me.

As our lips met, I knew that I was the luckiest guy in the world. She was everything I ever wanted, and I was determined to keep her safe no matter what.

"We should probably figure out where we're going," I said, breaking the kiss. "We can't stay in the city, not with your father and his men looking for us."

She nodded, her expression serious. "I know," she said. "But where can we go?"

I thought for a moment, trying to come up with a plan. And then, with a sudden flash of inspiration, I knew what we needed to do.

"I have a friend who lives in a small town, a few hours away from here," I said, my voice confident. "He owes me a favor, and I think he'll help us out."

She looked at me, her eyes filled with hope. "Do you really think he'll help us?"

I nodded, my expression determined. "I know he will," I said. "We'll be safe there, at least for a little while. And then we can figure out what to do next."

She smiled, her eyes shining with love. "I trust you," she said, leaning over to kiss me again.

And as we drove towards our new destination, I knew that I would do anything to keep her safe. She was my everything, and I was determined to protect her no matter what.

"Love at first sight is a strange thing," I said, my mind still racing with the events of the night. "But I know that what I feel for you is real. And I'll do anything to keep you safe."

She smiled at me, her eyes shining with gratitude and affection. "I feel the same way," she said, squeezing my hand. "But what are we going to do now? We can't stay in the city, not with my father and his men after us."

I thought for a moment, trying to come up with a plan. And then, with a sudden flash of inspiration, I remembered something.

"I have a friend who owes me a favour," I said, my mind racing as I thought about the possibilities. "He has a cabin in the woods, off the grid and far from anyone who might be looking for us. We can go there, lay low for a while, and figure out our next move."

She nodded, her eyes filled with relief. "That sounds like a good plan," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "But what about your friend? Won't he be in danger if we go there?"

I shook my head, trying to reassure her. "He's a good guy," I said, my voice filled with conviction. "And he'll understand why we need his help. He won't let us down."

She looked at me, her eyes filled with hope and trust. "Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I trust you. Let's go to your friend's cabin and see what we can do."

I smiled, feeling a sense of relief and determination. We were going to make it, no matter what it took.

"By the way," I said, turning to look at her with a grin. "My name is Max. It's nice to finally meet you, properly."
