Bernard Russ sighed and checked his gold plated Rolex. This was the third time in ten minutes he was checking the time. While he was squirming in his seat and praying for time to pass by so he could leave the crowded ballroom, his fiance Katrin on the other hand was chatting with a group of women "probably gossiping about the other guests at the party" he thought.
Suddenly his thoughts where pierced by Katrin's shrill of a voice. " Bernie why aren't you dancing?" She whined. "People are beginning to ask questions." Bernard ignored her and looked at his wrist watch again. "I'm getting tired of this place. We need to get to our hotel room." Katrin frowned and replied "well whatever you want. But we have to wait for another hour, word around is that there's major drama brawling around the host's family. And I can't go without hearing what it's about."
"You have thirty minutes. Take or leave." Katrin pouted. "Thirty minutes isn't enough. But I'll take it." She waltzed back to the middle of the room.*Time switch to the past*
Samantha had just arrived at the small village of Lausanne in Switzerland with her mother. They had travelled from England here to search for greener pastures, after her father had died. The village boys laughed at her because of her funny accent and mousy brown hair, and the girls despised her because she got all the attention, even though the attention wasn't even positive. On a very snowy day, in the middle of the winter she went for a walk alone.Suddenly she slipped and fell into a ditch by the roadside. Meanwhile, Bernard and his friends had been skiing at the other side of the road. Suddenly he heard a girl screaming and ran to the ditch. Luckily, he managed to pull her out. "What are you doing here?" He asked her angrily. " I was going for a walk and I slipped and fell into the ditch." She replied. "You where going for a walk in the snow, in the middle of the winter with Vans?" He said and face palmed . She hung her head down in shame. You're the new girl right? What's your name?" He asked. "It's Samantha." She answered.
"Samantha, that's a stupid name. I'll call you Sam. You look like a boy anyways."
Samantha blushed, not knowing whether to be angry, because he called her name stupid, or happy because he gave her a nickname.

Bernard remembered that day like it was yesterday. " Why did I fire her?" He groaned.
Without warning, some minutes later Katrin stalked to Bernard's seat. "I just got off the phone with Elise. You wouldn't believe what she discovered at your villa!"
Bernie got disgusted at the mention of Elise's name. She was Katrin's best friend and personal gossip supplier and snitch. She never seemed to mind her own business.
" What did she find?" he said in a toneless voice.
