The Girl He Could Never Leave Behind

A girl with a fantasy to have it all, a lost boy-man looking for something more to life. Kayleigh, who knows nothing about living a life and Edward who knows all the wrong ways to live the life!Until one day... We were left alone on the table while our friends were on the dance floor ,dancing. I looked at him and I saw him looking everywhere but at me, his eyes landed on me couple of minutes later and made a disgusted face at the same time another round of drinks arrived. I stood up bottoming up the glass, my throat burnt but I needed it more than anything today; I grabbed Eddie's hand and dragged him towards the emergency exit he looked mad but I was glad he was letting me lead him. The moment we neared the exit door he yanked my hand off and grabbed my shoulder, he looked so angry right now that if this would a cartoon smoke would be fuming out of his ears. "Geez woman, what is wrong with you? why can't you leave me alone!" I raised my eyebrow, "you seriously have guts to ask me that after what you are doing to me?" He covered the distance between us without taking off his hands from my shoulder but this time he seemed even more angry, "What are you trying to say?" I gulped in fear while trying to get out of his hold," I am not your toy that you'll sleep with me whenever you please and later Ignore me like I don't exist" He froze as I said the truth out loud with courage, "This is over!" saying that, I freed myself from his hold and raised my finger at him,"Don't you dare cross my path again or I promise you I will make your life hell!" He stood there trying to recover from the shock while I walked out with my newfound pride and honour. Eddie never understood love at least he thought he did by doing things in his own twisted ways; While Kayleigh knew love but she never found it in a man, or will she find it any day soon?

The Drowning Ship

Kayleigh's pov

After he left tears started streaming down my face, I sat on the couch and buried my face in my palms while Beth sat next to me and pulled me in her embrace; I sobbed some more while she rubbed circle on my back. After a while she handed me a glass of water, "When did it all start? tell me everything and don't you leave a single detail." I told her everything that happened while she sat there and listened to me patiently, I made her promise me that she won't confront Eddie about it. After the confrontation we drank some more wine, talked about other things and drifted off to sleep. I didn't hear from Eddie for few days and I didn't try to contact him either. I asked Jay to meet for lunch and luckily he agreed to meet me at Rudy's Diner, an hour later Jay showed up and I told him everything which was going on between me and Eddie. He listened to me patiently and I saw pity in his eyes when I told him that I have fallen for him, he spoke after thinking what to say, "I saw him the way he looked at you. Kay I don't want to hurt you but we both know that he fucks around with different women everyday, in-fact I am surprised that he has done it with you more than once!" I nodded, "It's not like he doesn't know how I feel about him, I had told him and all he said was that he needed time as he recently got out of relationship." He pursed his lips, "He was the same when he was dating Angela, he will never change! Kay I care for you a lot and you seriously need to move on, he will break your heart in to pieces." Tears escaped my eyes and I picked up the napkin to quickly wipe it off, "I am trying Jay, I am trying really hard to not think of him or miss him but I fail miserably." He held my hand to comfort me, "I know it is difficult for you but after what he did to you on Beth's birthday you can't let him toy you around." I nodded looking down, "I guess I will confront him about it and tell him it is over." He agreed with me while we finished our lunch and we also came to a mutual agreement that I will maintain my distance from Eddie which means that I won't hangout with them when Eddie is joining them and I am fine by that as everyone except Patricia already knows about the situation. I don't plan to tell her about this any time soon because I am too embarrassed to tell her about how horrible Eddie has treated me so far.

Another week passed by since I hung out with them, It is 4th of July tomorrow so we are celebrating tonight at Eddie's club PASSION. I have to attend the party but I was in no mood to leave the house. Jay came over to my house half past seven and warned me if I didn't change in to something better he would drag me to the party in my pjs', Jay never threatens but when he does, his threats are not to be taken lightly. By the time we made it to the club Beth, Patricia, Arjun (patsy's new boyfriend she met at work) and Eddie were already sitting on the table chatting in the loud music. We walked over to them and greeted everyone but I didn't greet Eddie. After we sat down everyone were mingling to each other while Jay ordered drinks. I looked at him as he spoke with Jay and Arjun; he didn't even acknowledge my presence but I chose to ignore it as I don't want anything to do with him anymore. A while later Patsy dragged everyone on the dance floor leaving me and Eddie alone on the table, I looked at him as he looked everywhere but at me and when he noticed that I was staring at him, he made a disgusted face. I bottomed up my drink and then I stood up bottoming up another drink, my throat burnt but I needed it more than anything today; I grabbed Eddie's hand and dragged him towards the emergency exit he looked mad but I was glad he was letting me lead him. The moment we neared the exit door he yanked my hand off and grabbed my shoulder, he looked so angry right now that if this would a cartoon smoke would be fuming out of his ears. "Geez woman, what is wrong with you? why can't you leave me alone?" I raised my eyebrow, "you seriously have the audacity to ask me that after what you are doing to me?" He covered the distance between us without taking off his hands from my shoulder but this time he seemed even more angry, "What are you trying to say?" I gulped in fear while trying to get out of his hold, "I am not your toy that you'll sleep with me whenever you please and later Ignore me like I don't exist". He froze as I said the truth out loud with courage, "This is over!" saying that, I freed myself from his hold and raised my finger at him, "Don't you dare cross paths with me again or I promise I will make your living life hell!" He stood there trying to recover from the shock while I walked out with my newfound pride and honour.

As soon as I got out, I got in to the cab and asked him to drive towards my apartment but minutes later I realised I forgot my wallet and phone. After the exit I had, there is no way in hell I am ruining it so I just got home and paid with the emergency cash I have left in my apartment. After entering my apartment, I took off my shoes and pulled out a bottle of whiskey and a glass, seven glasses later the door bell rang and to say I was terrified to open the door would be an understatement! The doorbell rang few more times so I gathered some courage to open the door. To my relief beyond that door stood very pissed off Beth and Patricia with their hand on their waist. Patricia was the first one to talk, "When will you stop leaving parties without informing us and forgetting your things!?" she walked inside the house while Beth still stood by the door looking at me with concern, she asked, "What happened?" I dragged Beth inside the house and shut the door. Beth looked at me with concern while Patricia sat on the couch sipping my drink. I said with a sigh "It's over!" and walked over to the couch and sat next to Patsy. She looked between me and Beth suspiciously and asked "Is there something you both are hiding from me?" I nodded to a reluctant Beth and she sat next to me keeping me in the middle of them filling Patsy with the details; Patsy looked really shocked after knowing about Eddie, she hugged me tightly, "I am sorry sweetie!" I murmured a thanks and hugged her back. Beth gave me a small smile, "I am glad it is over, at least you don't have to suffer because him." Patsy got two empty glasses from the kitchen while Beth poured us drinks. After an hour long discussion we came to a mutual agreement that I won't hangout with the group whenever Eddie will be around, to which I was utterly grateful.
