The Ghoulish Haunted Mansion: Chapter 12

Everyone met up in the living room and looked for the monster together to catch it, but they couldn’t find it anywhere. Since the kids were safe, Violet tried to find the spell that would un-haunt the house in the spell book. While she was searching in the book, a ghost came up from behind them. Then they all quivered in fear, and the spirit reached out his hand and took the lid off a bucket of red paint. Lou said, “It’s writing something.” The ghost finger painted a B on the wall, then an E, and the kids watched it as it painted what it was writing on the wall. When it finished, they saw the ghost spelling “Beware” on the wall. Violet said, “The ghosts are here. Even though they are, don’t scream. If you do, the monster will hear you and find out where we are.” Sam was about to scream, but Lou covered her mouth with her hand, and Sam screamed into it.

After seeing the ghost writing, the kids ran for their lives and then ran up the stairs. While they were running up the stairs, the stairs started to slide together and chase after them. Susan yelled, “RUN!” Then, all ten ran up the stairs while the stairs slid together and chased after them. Susan shouted, “JUMP!” All the kids reached the top except Lou, who held onto the top and looked down since there were no more steps. Lou said, “Hey, that was fun. Let’s do it again.” Mike said, “Or, let’s not.” Alex and Susan helped Lou up, then walked down the upstairs hallway.

While upstairs, they entered one of the bedrooms and saw nobody inside. Once they got in, they saw a bunch of garden gnomes. Susan said, “What are these things doing here?” One threw a knife at them, ending up in the wall. Sam said, “Something tells me they want to kill us. RUN!” All ten of them ran for their lives, but the garden gnomes chased after them. While they were running for their lives, they ran into the sludge monster, and it shape-shifted into a werewolf to scare Alex. Sam said, “OK, who here is afraid of werewolves?” Alex raised his hand, and he ran for his life. Bobby said, “Alex, wait.” The boys ran after Alex, and the werewolf chased after the boys. Then, a wooden chair got thrown at the girls, and the girls turned around and saw the living garden gnomes. The girls ran for their lives, and the alive garden gnomes chased after them. The boys ran down the hallway and jumped down the laundry chute to escape the werewolf. The werewolf tried to jump down the laundry chute, too, but he was too big to fit. The girls ran to the attic and shut the door so the living garden gnomes wouldn’t follow them.

Even though they ditched the living garden gnomes, the girls saw many toy robots in the attic. The toy robots tried to shoot the girls with their laser guns and the lasers from their eyes. And while they were shooting at them, the girls dodged their attacks and screamed in terror. Then the girls hid in the attic so the toy robots wouldn’t find them. Meanwhile, the boys landed in a pile of laundry and climbed out of it. After they climbed out of the laundry, a sheeted ghost emerged and scared the boys. Then, the boys ran for their lives, and the spirit chased them. The boys ran out of the laundry room and into the front hallway. To keep safe, they slammed the door and locked it so the ghost couldn’t get out. Then the spirit phased through the wall and tapped Pablo’s shoulder, and all the boys turned around and saw the ghost. Then they all screamed in terror and ran for their lives.

Since they couldn’t go upstairs because all the stairs were gone, they ran into a different room while the ghost chased them. While the boys were hiding, the spirit looked all around the room they were hiding in for them but couldn’t find them. Then the stairs started to drop down and come back so the girls could go downstairs and the boys could go upstairs. Meanwhile, Alex peered out from inside the cupboard and saw the ghost still looking for them. Bobby, Mike, and Pablo looked out from behind the sofa and saw the spirit still looking for them. And Tom looked down from the ceiling and saw the ghost still looking for them.

Since the ghost couldn’t find them, he left their room, and the boys came out of hiding. Then, the girls came down from the attic when the toy robots left, walked downstairs, and met up with the boys in the living room. They all tried to calm down in the living room since they were so scared. While trying to calm down, a few walking skeletons came their way. Bobby said, “Well, this can’t be the monster. There’s more than one skeleton.” Once the kids saw the skeletons, they ran off and split up when they left the living room. Alex and Emma ran upstairs, Bobby and Helga ran into the library, Mike and Lou ran into the kitchen, Pablo and Sam took Violet and ran downstairs to the basement, and Tom and Susan ran outside.
