Chapter 5: Broadway

The success of the new play is related to the survival of the Skyline Theater.

Therefore, the theater launched a huge publicity campaign a full month in advance, such as half price for the second ticket, and a 20% discount for family tickets.

Donna Murphy.... has been in the theatre industry for over 10 years.

She started her career in her early 20s. She was born on March 7, 1959, in New York City. Murphy is of Irish, French, German, and Czech ancestry.

By the way, a 5-minute script is equal to 5 pages of writing.

Each page represents approximately one minute on stage.

So if you have a play that is 200 pages long, that won't work. Audiences will not sit for over one and a half hours unless the theatre is providing a circus, a fire drill, sex, and an earthquake.

Audiences are even reluctant to sit through "The Iceman for Cometh" a classic by Eugene O'Neill. full-length to 3 hours.

That's why a playwright should keep their full-length script to about 100 pages, which equals 1.6 hours of stage time.

For a one-act divide that by 2. For a ten-minute play, your script should be from 10 to 15 pages.

Anyway, 3 days later she got a call from the director telling her, she was selected and asking her to visit the theatre to get a copy of the original play script and discussion about her salaries with her agent.

From the very beginning, when she got the script, she started studying the character traits of Jeanne Benia in the script for 20 hours a day, constantly pondering and performing in her heart and in reality.

Jenny tightened her coat, struggled to carry the big box in her hand, and walked to the school gate with some fatigue and anxiety, only to find a little girl who was only five or six years old standing alone in front of the school.
