Prologue - The Girl With No Name

Dear Luna,

Farewell.

I had accomplished what I had to do in this meaningless life and so with great joy, I now leave this world to follow Archangel. Surely he will not be thrilled to see me but I am ready for all his grumbling and preaching in eternal paradise.

If there is one thing I will miss about this world, it is my letters to you. I don't know if you exist somewhere but if you do, know that I am forever grateful to you. It is kind of foolish for me to say this but you know well that you are the only friend I have. To you, I write all my secret whispers, my hidden thoughts, and most of all the things I cannot dare to tell Archangel.

It had been a long time since my ink led me to you, I was eight then and my heart was bursting with so many emotions I had to let it all go before it exploded, and you took all of them all silently and secretly. However, Luna, I know for sure it is useless to hide secrets in paradise so I think this will be my last letter to you.

The Prince had finally found his redemption and I made sure he gets double of what was taken from him. He should be happy now, especially that he had found his way back to her, the girl with soulful deep ink eyes.

My prince, to you I owe the most joyful days of my life and the pleasure of knowing what love is. A yes love! I have seen how pure it is as a child and so I explored it expecting nothing less than splendor only to end in a battlefield. I fought willingly in an unplanned war with my sword and tainted hands. And so I must say, love is a dangerous venture and so I warned you all, just like Solomon all warned us, do not arouse or awaken love until it so pleases.

There was a time my prince that I dreamed for us to meet, for me to slip into your beautiful life but then, I know deep in my heart I cannot stay and so I'd rather not enter your life just leave you in the end. I had defied fate and decided I won't let him have his way. I didn't choose to be born but I decided how to die, but before I had ended this life, know that I had loved you with all of it.

Luna, what is written in Ecclesiastes is right and like him, I too had seen everything under the sun and all of them I find meaningless, a chasing after the wind. In this realm, I have no name, I don't belong to any race or any tribe. I only belong to Archangel, from him I was made and to him, I shall return.

Farewell Luna, my friend who does not exist and yet gets to know who I am.

Yours,

The girl with no name

***

"Goodbye Luna," The girl whispered as she brushed the last stroke of her brush on her letter. She was sitting at a table by the window with her long wavy red hair that was swaying in the wind. Everything around her was dark and gloomy and the only light that made her writing possible was coming from a small lamp sitting at the edge of the table.

In just a moment, the girl closed her journal down and put the brush back to its place. She looked at the moon for a moment through the window and smiled bitterly at it. Just as she did, a wind rushed in as if a response to her admiration of the moon. When it brushed in, it made the little dream catchers hanging on her window dance a little.

"You shine so bright tonight Luna, how pathetic you had to be so beautiful at my departure," She spoke again.

Soon, the girl finally decided it was time and so she stood from her seat and blew off the lamp on the edge. Immediately, everything was covered in the darkness and the only light left was the one coming from the moon.

In the dark, the girl traced her footsteps back into the stairs. She has memorized every part of the house she was in, how could she not when she had grown up in there all her life. From the stairs, she went to the kitchen and then outside to a small garden that had not been tended for a while.

The moonlight made it possible for her to see the tall grasses that covered the whole garden, and so were the three crosses that stood just right at the corner of each grave. Yes, there was a grave in the garden, the grave of the most important heroes in her life and one of the graves is an empty one, something she dug a few moons ago.

If not for her ventures with the prince, that grave should have been settled already. However, she had to halt the funeral to help him get back on his feet, promising this place to never return until she had done what she needed to do.

Now, she is back. The promise had already been fulfilled.

The girl went bent down and bowed to the first two graves that were there to give her respects. As for the third grave, she looked down onto it and saw the bed of red roses nestling at its feet. Enticed by its beauty, she jumped into the grave and lavished herself with it.

The bed of red roses is beautiful. Too much for a funeral but she didn't care. Instead she looked up toward the moon, whom she considered as her only company and smiled at it. "Don't roll an eye on this Luna, it's not bad of a wish to lay on the bed of roses when you die,"

"Besides, this is the last thing I can give myself," She added. "It's my funeral afterall,"

She smiled for the last time and sent a flying kiss to the moon before she pulled a pendant on the necklace she was wearing. The pendant was a small vial which the girl immediately pushed to her lips and drank gracefully what's inside.

It was poison.

"I bid this world farewell," That was the last thing she said before she laid herself in the bed of roses and closed her eyes. Soon her breathing stopped, her lips turned pale and the precious life that was given to her fled from the grave.
