Chapter 6: Encounter

There was Thedomite found in the crates. It had an outer shell made from Corodite. Selena's soldiers poured water from rusty pails into the pure Thedomite. It resulted in the Thedomite illuminating a pale blue light. Selena told the others to hurry for the enemy may come and retrieve the illegal cargo.

Reagan and his team did nothing and watched Selena and her group spoil the thedomite. It was his suggestion to use water from rusty pails.

"Should we stop them?" Freya asked.

"The more thedomite they spoil the less likely the enemy would retrieve weapons grade thedomite for their weapon," Reagan replied.

"You should have told her the truth about our investigation," Alistair suggested.

"Too early for them. If Selena survives, I might ask the Bureau to recruit her." Reagan said and lit his cigar.

Selena approached Reagan and his team who were doing and asked, "How many thedomite are there in the cargo?"

Reagan did not say a word and pointed to crates stockpiled beside him. Judging from the numbers. It would take time to spoil every thedomite in the cargo hall.

Selena asked Reagan to join them, but he refused and said, "There's little point in spoiling the entire thedomite cargo. I should stop what you were doing if I were you!"

"But you said the Umayar will retrieve them if we don't do anything!" Selena protested.

"True they may. It is better to secure the area, right?" Reagan suggested.

Hearing Reagan's words, Selena ordered her men to stop whatever they were doing. She again looked at Reagan, whom she found as complacent. She leaned beside the crate where Reagan and his team were standing.

"Fine! Let's do nothing." Selena said.

Reagan replied, "Yeah, let's do that rather than waste our energy. The Umayar will come here soon and we'll be outnumbered and outgunned. The odds are against us!"

Selena laughed and replied, "Is this how the Bureau's operative works? I found it ironic that I respect you guys."

Alistair tried to scold Selena but was stopped by Reagan, "You know, your opinions and beliefs are subjective. If you don't like how we operate, stick to your business! You can't force anyone to do favors for you.

Selena groaned in frustration and replied, "Fine! Have it your way!"

Seeing Selena leave Freya approached Reagan. "We should try and help her."

"No!" Reagan replied.

"Why?" Freya asked.

"I have my way of doing things. I don't like to please people!" Reagan replied.

"This is why people find you difficult to work with!" Freya commented.

"Whatever!" Regan replied.

The steel door from the second floor of the Cargo hold suddenly sounded. It was as if someone was trying to force the door open from the other side. There was a loud clang from a metal door. Selena signaled her group to hide behind the crates and conceal themselves.

The door opened and Umayar soldiers exited from the door. The General followed them and also the Captain of Genyrre. The Captain was covered with bruises and wounds from the beatings he received from his captors.

"Are you not going to cooperate?" A translator asked the Captain.

The captain groaned in pain and tried to stand up, "Like I told you. This is the place, the crates... the items were hidden!

The general ordered his soldiers to inspect the crates. Upon breaking the wooden crates they were surprised to see the thedomite in the cargo was purposely sabotaged. An Umayar soldier reported the matter to the general, it made him furious.

"Is this your plan?" The interpreter said to the Captain.

"No, I... I swear I had nothing to do with that!" The Captain begged.

"Your usefulness ends here! The General cleared his throat and ordered his soldiers. "I want you all to search for all the unspoiled cargo!"

The Umayar soldiers scrambled from the second floor and approached the crates in the cargo hold. They ignored the opened crates and looked for the unopened ones. There were several unspoiled thedomite cargoes opened.

Seeing the unspoiled thedomite in the crates, the General ordered his soldiers to gather them. Selena was not pleased to see this. She had to do something if she were to prevent such cargo from falling into the enemy's hands.

Selena ordered her soldiers to open fire at the Umayar. Selena aimed at the crate carried by an Umayar soldier and shot several rounds on it. The Thedomite inside exploded with the soldier carrying it.

The General ordered his soldiers. "What are you doing? Shoot back!"

The Umayar soldiers used their numbers and tried to overrun Selena and her men. Seeing that the enemy increased in number Selena shot the crates near the Umayar soldiers. Unspoiled thedomite exploded along with the Umayar soldiers who used it as cover.

Selena ordered her men to retreat after inflicting considerable damage against their enemy. She approached Luca and told him to go back and call for Reinforcements. Luca nodded and went on his way. With the Umayar still not in sight, Selena signaled her men to prepare for another attack.

On the twenty-fifth floor, Alexi and his group were trying to catch up with Selena's group in the Cargo hold after hearing the information from Maximilian. He, followed by five of his entourage with Adela and Henry beside him. While walking, they saw the assistant warden was heading in the opposite direction.

"Where do you think you're going?" Alexi asked the huge hammer-wielding man.

"Going to the makeshift shelters." The man replied.

"Have you seen someone pass by?" Alexi asked the man.

"Not that I think of but... I saw a lady officer with a group of soldiers. They said they were heading to the cargo hold and took some of my people." The man explained.

"I see..." Alexi replied.

Alexi and his entourage saw several weak, skinny-looking people following the man. "Thanks! Please continue on your way!"

"Thank you!" The man replied to Alexi and continued on his way.

"Why did you let them be? They're prisoners they may try to escape!" Adela protested.

"We don't have time. Also, I need to know what is it the cargo hold. We need to hurry!" Alexi replied and looked at Henry. "Are the reinforcements ready?"

Henry replied, "Sire, the nearest of our ships is several kilometers from here. It may take three hours before they arrive!"

Alexi asked, "Three hours? We'll be dead by then!"

Henry assured the prince said, "That was two hours ago sire! I am sure they are on their way here."

"Good, then everything is set!" Alexi smiled and looked at his entourage.

"We will show them our Europan brethren and the filthy Umayar pests our return. The beginning of the restoration of the Dynellan Kingdom begins... Now!" Alexi proclaimed before his entourage.
