ch91- Sky Clash

The overwhelming commotion from Alex's rampage inevitably alerted the Guardian Boss of the Sky Fortress. As the entire floating city trembled, the sound of rushing water echoed across the vast blue lake, and an enormous, despair-inducing figure emerged from the depths.

Emma, watching from a distance, was so terrified by the sight of the colossal creature that she collapsed to the ground. From her vantage point, she could see the full, horrifying form of the beast. It resembled a legendary dragon, its massive, greenish-blue body coiling around the central peak of the lake. The creature's enormous form seemed to wrap around the mountain once, and then its body vanished into thin air, as if it existed in both reality and the void simultaneously.

Even Alex, with his enhanced abilities, was momentarily taken aback by the sudden appearance of this giant dragon. In an instant, the beast was already hovering over the vast lake, its immense form blotting out the sun, resembling the mythical Sky Dragon.

However, Alex could sense from the terrifying energy waves emanating from it that this was not just any dragon; it was the Guardian Boss of the Sky Fortress—**the Sky Serpent Dragon.**

There was little time to react. As the Sky Serpent Dragon materialized, its ultimate attack was already in the works. The dragon's movements seemed to transcend space itself, making even Alex, with his maxed-out agility, struggle to follow.

In a flash, a ghostly blue-green light ignited around the creature, expanding rapidly. Monsters too slow to escape were instantly vaporized without a sound.

"Sword Counter!" Alex shouted, sensing imminent danger. He swung his sword toward the approaching wave of energy with all his might.

A miraculous sight unfolded. The massive blue aura split open slightly at Alex's strike. When it came into contact with his **Stronghold Blade**, the energy wave halted as if it had struck the hardest substance in the world. Then, with even greater speed, the attack reversed direction and surged back toward its origin!

"Raaaargh!!"

The Sky Serpent Dragon, half of its body still submerged in the void, let out an enraged roar, shocked by the impossible turn of events. But it was helpless as its own devastating attack rebounded, engulfing its massive form. The beast's enormous body disintegrated in an instant.

"Boom!!"

A deafening explosion followed. Everything caught in the blue energy—monsters, clouds, even the mountaintop—was obliterated. The once black thunderclouds were scattered, and a chunk of the towering peak was completely sliced off by the blast. The echo of the explosion reverberated for miles, and the pillar of blue light shooting into the sky could be seen across half of East Sea City.

The sheer magnitude of the blast sent shockwaves throughout the city. Those who knew of the Sky Fortress, including the city's guides, were left speechless. This was a place rumored to hold the terrifying Sky Serpent bloodline—who could possibly cause such a massive disturbance?

Ethan, one of the guides stationed in East Sea City, felt a deep sense of unease. He couldn't shake the feeling that something catastrophic had just occurred.

Inside the Sky Fortress, following the terrifying explosion, the remaining monsters scattered in all directions, fleeing in terror. Emma, still seated near the entrance, was trembling uncontrollably. Her ears were ringing, and her vision was clouded by afterimages of the blue light.

But what shocked her the most was the figure floating in the sky. Silhouetted against the broken peak, Alex stood like a legendary hero from a movie or novel.

Alex wasn't just powerful—he was something else entirely, beyond even the greatest warriors. Was he even human?

This question resurfaced in Emma's mind. Even with the arrival of the "game," even with her own ascent to SR-rank, she couldn't fathom reaching such levels of power.

Alex wasn't just SR-level. He was far beyond—probably something like SSSSSSR-level at this point!

While Emma's mind raced with doubt and confusion, Alex himself was equally astonished. Initially, he had believed his **Ultimate Mode** was his strongest skill. After all, it was an overpowered ability that could exponentially increase his stats. But now, Alex realized the truth: **Sword Counter** was his real trump card.

No matter how strong the attack, no matter how devastating the skill, he could simply reflect it.

The stronger the enemy, the more dangerous their power, the faster they would fall to Alex's **Sword Counter**.

This wasn't just a powerful skill—it was practically the embodiment of the game's rules.

Having just torn a hole in the sky with his counterattack, Alex couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed. Even he was starting to feel awkward about how overpowered he had become.

But there was no time for modesty. As Alex regained his composure, something else caught his attention—a distorted space hovering over the severed peak. It looked like a shimmering bubble, changing colors in the sunlight as it slowly descended.

Curious, Alex flew toward it. Upon closer inspection, he could make out a faint hexagonal array within the bubble. After a moment of hesitation, he stepped inside.

Immediately, two notifications appeared:

"You have discovered the **Sky Serpent Legacy**. Would you like to begin the legacy trial?"

"The Guardian Boss of Sky Fortress, **Sky Serpent Dragon**, has been defeated. Would you like to claim this resource point?"

To Alex's surprise, he had actually conquered this formidable resource point. What had started as a wild fight to let off steam had ended in complete victory.

Of course, securing such a powerful resource point was an unexpected bonus. Perhaps one of his teammates could inherit the legacy and gain powers akin to his.

After claiming the resource point, Alex couldn't resist the temptation to attempt the legacy trial himself. He was already curious about what this trial entailed. Even though he already had the **Prototype Bloodline**, it didn't hurt to see what the trial offered. Worst case, he could simply give up the legacy if it didn't suit him.

With that in mind, Alex chose to begin the trial. Instantly, he was transported into a void, a space where time, sound, gravity, and everything else ceased to exist.

It was only when a blue-green creature materialized that Alex felt a deep, primal fear. The presence of this being was far more terrifying than the massive Sky Serpent Dragon he had just fought.
