Ch-6

Shou stepped into his home. He removed his sandals and put them into the wooden rack.

"I'm home.", he declared.

A sudden response in a sweet voice came from his mother, Hina Uchiha,

"Welcome back home, Shou."

He quickly went to his room, put down his bag into its place and washed his hands and face in the bathroom. Then he came back to the dining cum kitchen room where his mother was making the dinner.

An appealing and delicious smell came flowing into his nostrils. He stood where he was for a moment, experiencing the smell and then moved besides his mother, who has just finished making the food.

He put the fruits he brought today to the nearby fruit basket.

As his mother was carefully transferring the hot and steamy curry from the utensil to the serving pot, she asked Shou,

"So, how was your day today?"

Shou answered truthfully,

"It was fine, mother.. There was nothing special that took place.. Only one class took place in which Sensei taught something I already knew… No kunai lessons, race or other activities happened.."

"I see.", She dipped a small spoon in the curry with the help of her slender fingers, cooled it gently by her mouth air and brought it in front of Shou's mouth.

"Here, taste this.. Say ahh.."

Shou deftly took the spoon from his mother's hand and said while viewing the curry on the small spoon,

"Mother… I'm not a child anymore, so stop treating me like one.."

After saying that, he put the spoon in his mouth.

Hina knew that her child was not a child anymore. He was far more mature than any other child his age. Heck, he was even more mature than many adults. Both Hina and Izaya understood this far better than anyone. He was their one and only child, after all. They knew that Shou was responsible and understood many things.

Both she and her husband were proud of him. They realised that Shou can alone take care of himself, so they dismissed the caretaker who took care of Shou when they weren't around.

And by seeing Shou's attitude and his skills, they realised that he would go far in his ninja career.

As Shou was tasting the delicious curry with his eyes close, Hina fondly looked at Shou and spoke,

"Well you will always be a child to us, Shou.. Even when you become an adult."

Shou heard this and went to the basin, where he put down the empty spoon.

He spoke while getting a little emotional,

"Yes, mother… And I'm grateful for that."

Hearing this, the slight smile on Hina's face got larger into a big, beautiful smile.

A thick voice came into Shou's and Hina's ear,

"I'm home."

"Welcome back home.."

Two voices welcomed in unison. Shou's father, Izaya Uchiha, was back home.

Izaya, Hina and Shou talked to each other, ate delicious curry with plain rice, exchanged good night wishes and headed to their rooms.

Shou was sitting on his bed with the lamp on. The window was open and a cold breeze was flowing in. He was sitting cross legged and his cheek was resting on his right fist with the right arm on his right knee. His gaze was calm

He was looking towards the screen.

Shou had just switched on the gamer's mind. His mind was totally calm. There was no expression on his face. If he wasn't sure that anything could not faze him before, he was now perfectly sure that no situation can disturb his calm mind.

He willed the Gamer's Mind to turn off.

He decided that gamer's mind isn't something that he should turn the whole time on. When the gamer's mind is on, he can't feel much emotion(Not really a pleasant feeling). He will only activate it during the incoming battles, rigorous training and the situations where he thinks that the gamer's mind is needed.

Normally, he doesn't need it. He can control his emotions just fine.

As he gazed over the screen just to satisfy himself, he thought,

'Today is the day I got the system, but I didn't get a daily quest… I got the special Quest in which the system didn't even ask my consent.. I guess my system isn't the usual system… I'm curious about the shop… Will jutsus and skills be in the shop..? Man, I can't wait to have it..'

There were two questions that were constantly revolving in Shou's mind: why the system manifested only today, and why it didn't activate from my birth.

He decided to ignore the questions as currently he didn't see anything that would lead him to the questions' answers.

He drifted into sleep as it was getting really late, with a thought,

'Now it will be the time for my performance…'
