Olenna pov
For once in her life Olenna was actually enjoying staying in the red keep,the castle was always beautiful but now there is a certain magic to it
The smell that plagued this keep was gone as soon as the dragons came, and with the direwolves and dragons running around you can't get a view like this anywhere in the world
The people from all over the seven kingdoms come to Kingslanding just to get a glimpse of these magnificent beasts,but she can't judge them when she first came here she was also looking for dragons like a peasant entering a castle for the very first time
But the dragons are not the only thing make her appreciate the red keep, somehow the whole castle has changed without anyone realising, in the morning when the sun is blasting heat the castle turns cold and comfortable like a slow winter breeze and in the night when it is cold the castle turns warm and soothing
Being old she is quick to feel the difference and it seems others are noticing too,there are already rumours that the king is a Valyrian sorcerer and she can't refute the fact that the king can do some unbelievable things
Sometimes the king's hair and eyes change colour and he goes from a half stark to a complete Valyrian in a blink , she also remembers the trial where it felt like the whole throne room was starting to melt with the king's rage
There are tales going around that the king is a half dragon himself, that fire bends to his will but no one dares to utter these rumours in the red keep, but the changes in the red keep are more subtle, the whole place feels full of life and the air is fresher even though it is next to the shit filled city
Being married into House Tyrell she has been around gardens most of her life so she can clearly see the difference in the royal gardens, the plants here seemed to have found a new life, flowers are blooming like there is no tomorrow
If she didn't have to worry about her family than she might stay her till she dies but the fate of her entire house is in her hands and she can't mess this up, she already threatened the king once and she can't make anymore mistakes
With the Royal family off the table she has been observing Robb Stark and the rest of the wolves for a marriage, from what she has seen the young wolf can be a good match for her granddaughter,the young man is very close to the king and most likely hold a significant post in the small council
Robb Stark is definitely Eddard Stark's son with all the honour that come with it, for the people in the court this might seem naive but no one has been able to pull one over the young wolf so the boy is at least smart enough to see what's what
But while Robb Stark is very close to the king, his mother and elder sister are not, it seems that Catelyn Stark really thought that boy a bastard so things are tense between them,if Margaery marries into the Starks she can't make the same mistakes
At first Olenna didn't even notice anything on the surface, the king doesn't seem to hold any grudge against his family and Catelyn Stark is not fool enough to show anything in the court but little Sansa always seems overeager to please the king and royal family
So she investigated her sources in the north and found out while the king was living as 'Jon Snow' Catelyn Stark was not happy with her husband's bastard living under the same roof as her, while this doesn't mean much now but it shows that at least the king is forgiving towards his family
So if Margaery marries the king's brother than the tyrells can once again get in the good graces of the crown, and if all goes well than their children can marry into the royal family, it might take a while but the Tyrell blood can be related to the crown
As she sits in the garden with her granddaughter and other ladies she can see the royal family sitting under the the central gazebo, Grand Queen Rhaella, Queen Mother Elia and Princess Rhaenys are sitting with Catelyn Stark and her two daughters
They are there with just kingsguard Ser Jaime lannisters standing guard, but only a fool would dare attack them with three huge direwolves laying around the table, even though the wolves are sitting flat on the ground their heads are still higher than the table
Seeing this scene she thinks how her life would have been different if she married into House Targaryen when she was young, while she will always love her husband but he in his stupidity literally rode of a cliff leaving her with a stupid oaf of a son
She would have been with Rhaella now talking about their children, her grandchild could have also been a dragonrider now, but there is no use thinking about the past now
As she was seeing the royal family Tyrion lannister comes to them "girls leave us lord tyrion and I have some important matters to discuss, and for the love of the old gods and new at least make something different than a flower this time, I mean there are literal dragons flying in the air above least you can do is sew some dragons can't you "
As the ladies leave tyrion comes and sits in front of me, the servants offer him some wine but he refuses "I must say I was surprised when you wanted to meet me lady Tyrell as you can see lannisters are not very popular these days "
"You my lord meet the king very often and not many have that honour nowadays, you shouldn't pay attention to things people say, there are rumours that you could compete with Robert Baratheon when in comes to drinking and whores but you can see my disappointment seeing you act properly right now "
The half man just smiles at my insults "His grace appreciate my talents and knowledge in certain subjects and I am very thankful for the mercy his grace has shown me any my remaining family, you see many men say that a child should not be punished for his father's crimes but when push comes to shove not many men have the stones to let the children of their enemies live ,now let's stop this unnecessary banter, what do you want for me my lady"
It seems that the little man still has his stones " House Tyrell is looking to marry my sweet granddaughter Margaery to Robb Stark and I want you to talk to the King so there are no problems with this wedding, if his grace talks on behalf of us for this marriage then you will have House Tyrell as an ally in the court "
"I am willing to try my lady as it was the king who suggested this match I can likely get his grace to talk to the Starks ,but no one really knows what goes on in king's mind so I can't make any promises "
