17 I am a Killer? So what?

Chapter 17

Title: I am a Killer? So what?

As Alex kills the old dwarf he immediately goes towards a hidden compartment under the dark living room and pulls out an object as bid as an adult's arm, the object is covered in a red cloth and Alex leaves it like that. He looks at the dwarf's corpse, he knows that the old dwarf has been living for quite a while. But he let himself get rusty and Alex doubted that the old man even used any equipment less than five decades old.

'I was actually almost a little surprised that the sneak attack worked. I guess that old life is a curse for some people like the old dwarf who lost everything.' Mused Alex, as he calls Lily over. "Lily come here, I need you to carry me. You are faster, so even if you carry me we will be able to escape faster than me running alongside you."

Lily nods at that and picks Alex up in a piggyback. Immediately Alex attaches to her like a koala and uses the cloth to tie the horn to his back. Lily uses her agility and strength to climb back up the chimney. 

Alex actually knows that it will probably be hours at least until the city guards will notice the dwarf being dead. But he isn't about to underestimate the dead dwarf, he might have had an item that sends a signal to the guards in the case of his death. He how tricky enemies with item making classes can be. In his past life, some players who joined cults just for the heck of it had killed the old dwarf and discovered the dragon horn accidentally.

The horn is actually a musical instrument that actually looks like a dragon horn that can help someone be friendly with dragons once it is blown into, at least that is all that most people would know. Also, the dragon horn is made from a real dragon which naturally has the Legendary power. Dragons naturally reach Legendary rank upon maturity, something that is so rare in the human race can naturally become a Legendary power creature even if it sleeps all its life. The world is never fair, some people can work as hard as they want and they will never be able to catch up to something that can be born to be strong.

There are also many other beings like this in this world, giants are the same as dragons and have Legendary level power just like dragons. Of course, to Alex this is not something he needs to worry about, he knows just how unfair and cruel the world can be. Also Dragons and Giants are almost nonexistant in the Human Continent.

At this time Lili is already running along the dark roofs with Alex on her back, Alex was only here for the Exp really. Also to make sure that Lily didn't just run away with the dragon horn too. He doesn't exactly trust her… like at all.

Though Lily doesn't have a high enough strength, her agility is high enough for her to move around even while she is carrying Alex.

Almost twenty minutes later of high movement like this while carrying Alex, Lily gets too tired and drops him on the ground. But since they are already close to the mansion they just walk back. As they walk towards the building they can see that a guard is on the outside. When Alex sees this he can't help but think. 'Damn… this is gonna suck. We can't sneak in because the guards would kill us if they caught us, and then ask questions later. So it's safer to walk through the front gate and seem like you did nothing wrong. Except that we are suspiciously returning during night time. Which immediately implies that we have something to hide.'

As they walk forward the guard is fully alert and he pulls out his sword and points it at Alex and Lily. 

"You there! Who are you?" Calls out the guard, he had been a guard for the Magic Academy for quite some time. He knows better than to underestimate someone just because they have a small figure. 

Alex is the one who answers by saying. "Yo! I am Alex a recruit fr the magic academy. I just went out for something that I had to do before I was ready to move on to the magic academy."

As he hears that the guard starts gathering Ki on his sword and getting ready to attack. "Tell me the truth kid. I can hear the heartbeat of your little friend beating too fast. Tell me one more lie and I will go for the kill."

Alex can only sigh at this as he gives Lily a sideglance. While warriors don't have the terrifying intelligence of a mage, and unwise warriors are usually manipulated by mages. The warrior classes have their own advantages too, their senses are so crazy that if one doesn't have good control over their body functions they would not be able to lie to someone. Of course the higher the level of a warrior, the higher their senses of sight, touch, hearing, etc...some can even gain a sixth sense, usually, once they get Legendary rank then they gain a 6th sense.

Still, as Alex's mind works at incredible speed on what to say. In the end at a split second, he comes to his conclusion. "Well… we killed someone. I couldn't leave the deed undone before going to the Magic academy. Who knows when I will return back here. You wouldn't have a problem with that, now would you mister guard?"

The guard frowns for a split second, but in the end, he just puts back his sword in its sheath while answering. "Nah, not really. I can understand that."

He then lets them through. He is a guard, he will simply do his job and guard. It isn't his job to care if the children kill some other person. He would have liked to ask about some gold for his silence, but he can sense that the kid is dangerous... he knows better than to mess with some dangerous mage.

Lily and Alex walk back to his room and he closes the door behind him and locking it. Lily just leans on one of the walls and closes her eyes. She is replaying in her mind the fight that she just had with the dwarf. 

Alex on the other hand calmly just pulls out the Dragon Horn and looks at it with a childish smile on his face. With this little instrument in his hands, he knows that he no longer has to be afraid of most people in this world. Though he can't see the status page of the item or its properties, he knows that the item is a Legendary Rank Item. 

But he suppressed his excitement and looks at Lily. "We will have to start getting stronger now."

As he says that, Lily opens her eyes and looks at him. Like always, she has an unreadable look on her face. "I understand."

Alex smiles at her simple answer, he can already guess what she is thinking. From what he knows from the Lily in his previous life, she is a perfectionist in a way. Also she hasn'tv experienced and is unlikely to experience the event where she cuts herself for every slave she saves. She was almost at Legendary Rank when the game started. Some players who joined her faction learned many things about her and posted them on different forums. She was apparently captured and tortured by someone and when she escaped she had the survivor's guilt. So she spent her days saving people till she was killed by some player that was trying to please the Mad God and wanted his blessing because he wanted to get his Berserker Class to open up the road to Apostyle Lord Class… that player went to later on take over the power of the Mad God. 

The Player had to take a dozen other Legend Rank players to defeat Lily, a Hero is no joke, their skills and perks make them overpowered. Only the player with the Beserker Class came out alive out of the fight. Whether the Dark Hero Lily was that strong or the player just betrayed his teammates is unknown.
