Esme and Marcus drank the night away at a bar where they could safely say nobody was acquainted with them. It was on the outskirts of Chester, a little run down yet still lively for the regulars that went there. Esme knew they were regulars because they openly stared at them, but with one look from the unwelcome pair and they decided their fate. They left Esme and Marcus alone, deeming them too much of a handful.

With their corner table, a spot both chose so they could see every corner of the bar, the best friends ordered their drinks. It was nice to be carefree, even if their talks sometimes took a dark turn. Marcus accepted all that Esme had to say about her past, who she really was and what deal she made with the Moon Goddess. It took a while, but after hanging out like they used to, cracking jokes at each other's expense, Marcus relaxed. She may have been reborn and had memories of her past life as a Goddess, but she was still the Nyx he knew and grew up with.
