39 Sticking Out

"Hmm? Why did the ship stop?"

A couple of concerned passengers looked through the public camera views and windows available to look outside. All was clear, but a small vessel was present on the side, a ship was currently boarding their own.

The intercom turns on and reassures that there is nothing in harm's way, just that someone of authority was being picked up.

"Welcome aboard Bai Li, I am the Secondary Class President in charge of affairs for first years in our school, my name is Cheng He, or you may call me president if you like."

"The pleasure is mine."

Bai Li's first impression of the carrier was great as opposed to his general vision of pampered geniuses. Zhao Fei would sometimes mistakenly flaunt his abilities frequently without knowledge and keep an ignorant persona that made conversing with him unbearable.

In recent news, it seems he would graduate in just two more months, some major groups were already looking forward of giving him recommendations and grants to join their ranks.

The Bright Star League held nothing of gaining Zhao Fei, but recently, talks of a tournament between the five major, six technically, corporations to realign rankings of groups. A fight that would be broadcasted and located in rural areas, groups are rather stringent on their privacy on their training and resources used to raise them. Nobody would even be able to leak any information, the Union would most likely placed restrictions to stop the matter.

"So how long would the ship take to enter the academy?"

"Our ship is the most recent model of the Lance, a reconnaissance ship that was modified to be just a simple transport ship. It would only take us two days."

'That's pretty fast!'

If he were to take normal transports, adding to two months, and pass the space gate with proper notation of identification would take three whole months! Time is essential of growth and one's youthful body helped attained soul energy much quicker, until reaching road blocks essential to one's age.

"You may check the ship out for yourself, I will return to the cockpit"

"Thanks."

Cheng He walked with a strange tone that made each step seem different, probably effected by his martial arts. Bai Li knew from his first meeting that he had immense power, not noting the fact that he was three years older than him.

The ship detached from the transport and began heading off at great distances, he could feel the gravity push along his front but slowly stabilized as a stability circuit activated, reducing most of the force.

The institute was definitely ready for his arrival, many pamphlets number the main room with multiple informational guides to help beginners.

They all had their own AI that would read automatically with different modes that ensured customer satisfaction.

But the act of flipping through pages was reminiscent to Bai, so he continued to read on the resting seats for the remaining two days.

Most of the pamphlets spoke about their historical values on their courses that they offer and general information about the mapping.

The map shown ancient designs with large houses with their own courtyard and open-air cultivation. Sound cancelling was also available and they could change the environment one would like in the blink of an eye.

"We've arrived."

Cheng He approached Bai Li.

Grabbing a nutrition bar from the cabinet, he ate while speaking.

"You ready to begin living and studying here?"

"I don't know honestly, I feel very nervous that they won't accept me."

Though Bai Li cared little of his social standings, presenting himself to others was an uncomfortable topic to begin with.

"Don't worry, the majority of the students took a survey of letting someone of younger age enter and over 70% said they wouldn't mind and another 15% who'd be happy with helping you out."

Some of the pressure was reduced and he became much more relaxed.

The door of the ship opened to reveal the truly serene area.

Trees of all oddities number the whole property of the school, approximately 20,000 acres of land was granted as a private state by the Union was spread throughout. A certain dome encompassed the entire area with the changing colors of the sky, the temperature was also quite different. As of now, it was shrouded in a magenta hue with clouds flying overhead slowly.

Multiple rows of manorswas filled with large space for each person. The towering walls of the manor created a significant barrier between the different sections of the school for each different subject. Each color coded to make common maps easier to interpret.

The inclined roofs numbered throughout and in the distance, was a grand pagoda, The sweeping roofs and inclined roofs built on sturdy pillars of uniform pillars created a sense of integrity in all spaces of the school, making it seem connected. The smell of sandalwood created a pleasant aroma for one to enjoy walks of enlightenment and a large plaza to each of the school buildings.

Staff numbers already out scaled the number of students to 2:1. Which the school was made to encompass a general student population of 7,000.

What Bai Li saw was such a new perspective and he already felt inclined to partake the events.

But the matter at hand right now was a small crowd following behind an elderly man.

His garments were of large ceremonial robes to which was to welcome him to the school, to which he wasn't expecting it as they never spoke of traditions and culture behind the school as one would naturally learn it through the school system.

"Welcome to the Institute, I am the headmaster and the grandson of the Disciple of Greyman Wu. My name is Wu Kao. I hereby welcome Bai Li to the Pride of Greymane"

Followers of Wu Kao all bowed down in respect, distant number of students didn't really realize that the survey was actually a real event, taking a child to an Elitist course as a secondary student.

Many came to find the sight impeccable and caught the sight of numerous amounts of students.

'Why do all the time am I caught in the lime light.'

He wasn't expecting much an audience but Cheng He did not tell him anything about the events at hand.
