CHAPTER 8

In a place where time doesn't flow and the sun doesn't rise, Nikita found extremely dull. No noise from the busy streets or children laughing. She looked around the room she had left after murdering hundreds of her people. A place where she would lie alone and train herself on how to shift, how to allow her animal instincts to take control for a night. These days she couldn't seem to shift, there was something blocking her way, her mind from doing anything or performing duties she was meant to perform as a royal.

She jumped up at the knock on her door, and she put her arm over her ears and rolled deeper into her sheets. When the racket didn't die down, she called for them to come in.

"Nikita, it's your father. Face me right now." The booming loud voice of her father rang in her ears.

"I can hear you loud and clear from where I am." She replied and when her father asked for her maids to leave them, she rolled her eyes, and decided she would ignore him. The anger in her could be directed elsewhere.

"Your mother wouldn't have wanted-"

"Who are you to talk about mom? You don't know anything." The man turned livid and stepped towards Nikita to stretch his hand across her face.

She laughed. She laughed loudly.

He noticed the cold blue of her eyes and the sudden change of her expression. Looking closer, it was sorrow and anger. Her hair changed to a light blue that reflected the light in the room. From the way she spoke, to the way she appeared, there was no difference between her and the woman he had once called a wife. The mother to his child. Who was now about to be crowned an overall ruler. A deity who had power ten fold all his Kingdom combined.

"Prepare for your ceremony today," Her father said. She stayed silent to let the words sink in. Ceremony? The one she was meant to perform with the sun deity?

"What are you talking about? We don't have the sun deity, it can't happen unless otherwise." She said and he only chuckled and turned, letting her maids in. Before he stepped out the door there was a bright light and lightening that sparked right next to him, he stood shocked as sparks flew from the door. Turning back slowly he saw Nikita completely unbothered and her glare stabbed his gaze.

"I asked you a question," she began," It cannot happen without the sun deity."

"He has been found and therefore we must perform this ceremony immediately, your birth hour already passed we can't delay any further." She dropped her arms from her chest and stared at him in shock, running past him. Unconsciously her legs carried her all through the long halls. It felt like an eternity before she finally got to the main hall, where everyone was gathered murmuring about something.

Before she could demand anything, the audience fell to their knees. All but one, who looked straight at her. The room was quiet, as she tried to mentally slap herself at the discovery of the madness.

They were identifiable green eyes, I knew all too well. He had the same confused expression as she did. Her hear pounded against her chest, and then a fear spiked through her as she shook her head and tore her gaze from him, and she turned to walk away.

"Nikita!"
