CHAPTER 15

"Coffee?" I asked stepping out of the kitchen with two mugs in hand, he stood next to her chair and followed her gaze to the countless city lights and sighed softly placing her drink near her. She looked dazed and disoriented, I had messed up big time.

The first few moments were excruciating and the silence was killing me, before I heard her sharp intake of breath.

"Why?...Why did you do that?" She asked facing me now. I felt the words to answer choke in my throat, what was I supposed to tell her? I don't even know the reason myself, really I acted on impulse and I had clouded judgement, I wasn't thinking straight and that had become a norm for me in the past few months.

"I really can't give you an answer for that, but what I can give you is a proper apology. Something like that shouldn't be done unless I have the woman's consent which I didn't have. But honestly Nikita I was scared for a split second there...I thought...never mind."

There we were again silent. It felt unusual because she was usually a chatter box, I knew I didn't have the right to jump into her personal affairs. I glanced over and changed my mind completely. Her eyes were puffy and her face was still a light pink and her eyes glassy with tears. So much for a perfect first kiss.

"If you want to talk about it...I will always listen to whatever you have to say... and I will try my best to help with the solution." I said but she just glared at me, and sighed heavily before standing up abruptly.

"If i remember correctly I only requested for a place to stay not a heart to heart discussion with you. Even if I told you, Its not like you share my pain...you have no idea what I have been through, not even the half of it. My life is so...pathetic, I even laugh at myself most times." She chuckled faintly and looked over at me as I stood up. Even after a mental breakdown she still looked as beautiful as ever, I acted like a total bastard, but she had a point I wouldn't have been able to understand her even if I tried.

"I don't know much about you...but if its supporting someone I care about I'm willing to step out of my comfort zone for them, that includes you, Nikita. I'm sorry about before, I overstepped my boundaries." I said and she had a frown on her face, very unlikely for you not to notice.

"That's the thing that's always happening...I always forget my principles when I'm around you and that makes me scared, because there is always a consequence for caring about a monster like me. Trust me I know that better than anyone."

" What's so wrong about opening up to me, to Valerie, to Cash? These are people who care about you and monster or not I don't give a damn you're a wonderful person who deserves as much love and care as everyone else. I'm human, unfortunately and I can't be of much help, But where I can I will always be by your side to help." For a moment he noticed the hint of a smile before it disappeared again with a sudden rush of cold feelings.

"If you care about me that much Kingsley, then...I want some space to myself. I also don't want to see you for a while, I can't face you right now, i need to collect my thoughts before jumping into anything. Goodnight."

"Big bro, You messed up big time, but what I don't understand is how you thought you could move on with a creature mentioned in anime?" Ivy asked walking towards the kitchen, Kingsley sighed and looked towards the rising sun with a frown on his face.

"Well, she made me forget that every moment I was with her. Strangely enough I thought that I was the only man in her life...But you should always expect disappointment."

Nikita sat at the side of her bed looking up at the ceiling with the light from her lamp post. Her mind far from being at peace, before she could judge on the situation she heard her phone buzz in a continuous sound, who was calling her at the middle of the night? Unknown number.

"Hello" She said picking up the phone.

"Miss Foxie, I finally found you, you're in the mortal realm right? We need to have a little chat you and I." The deep booming voice said on the other end. She froze, motionless and words refused to leave her mouth, her heart pounding feeling like it would explode any second. Her worst nightmare and past had come through.
