Bandit Surprise | Part 2

Regulus seemed taken back by the mage's conclusion. Although he doesn't consider himself as a noble nor royalty any longer, he was still startled by the mage's sudden statement.

"Oh? Did I guess right? Are you perhaps a noble?" The woman said as he smirked at him.

Regulus didn't reply verbally, instead he replied with his fists as he flash stepped to the mage and punched her in the solar plexus. Sending her gasping for air, but before she could comprehend what had happened she was thrown into a nearby boulder.

At this point her head was bleeding all over, her breath was ragged and her vision was blurry. It was only a matter of time before she would be defeated.

"I take it back, you're just an arrogant kid that shows no respect. If you were a noble you wouldn't have attacked me while I had my guard down. A noble shows respect and class, but you seem to lack both respect and class; instead you have replaced it with arrogance." She said as she stood up, using the boulder to assist her balance.

"I shall only show respect to those who deserve it!" Regulus said as he flashed step once more, but before he could even raise his arm. He was flung from the ground, sending him crashing back into the ground.

As he lifted his head up he was hit by a large rock, sending a searing pain all over his body as he stopped right next to the carriage. When he looked at what hit him, he was immediately induced in fear. It was not a "large rock" that had hit him; it was a Golem.

The strongest he has fought was only an Ogre, but an Ogre isn't even half as strong as a Golem. To add, even if he wasn't injured and was at the peak of conditions, he wouldn't be confident enough to face an A-class monster. With the help of Alicia they could probably take it down but she is too inexperienced at her current stage.

"Hahahahahaha, at this point there's no chance. I could try using 'that', but it would be far too risky." He said as he casted a "Mana Barrier", in which the Golem has started punching.

"It won't hold out for long but it should be able to give them time." He said as he noticed that the woman mage had disappeared.

"Hey you! Turn around and get out of here, go back to the village. If by an hour I won't return then find another way to their manor." He ordered the carriage driver as he stood up, preparing for his possible death.

"Don't listen to him, just flee a good distance and wait. We'll come to you once we're finished." A voice said, Alicia's voice.

"Huh? Wait wha a-" Regulus said but was interrupted as she gave him his spear in which he caught.

"Here, drink this. It'll heal any broken bones that you might have." Alicia said, handing Regulus a healing potion.

"Bu-"

"No buts, I've always wanted to fight a Golem. But I never expected to fight one this soon." She said as she unsheathed her sword from its sheath.

Without much thought Regulus drank the potion, it wasn't like any of the other potions as people would have expected that a health potion is bitter. It actually has a sweet taste that makes it one of the most seeked out potions because of its taste and effectiveness in healing wounds quickly.

"Don't die now mister." Alicia said as she readied herself.

"I should be the one saying that to you." Regulus replied, throwing the empty potion and gripping his spear tightly, as they readied to fight the monster in front of them.
