Ten years ago Haru fought against the left hand of the demon lord. What came of that was something that changed him forever, what changed the tide of the war forever.
(Ten Years ago.)
The other heroes have been making way against the generals but I didn't want to just take out a general since they can be replaced easily. The Demon Lords left hand man was mine and I would make sure he died in the process.
Seen walking through the fire filled fields was Haru wielding his sword made from Alzel which was a rare material that most couldn't get hands on. It was one of the strongest materials out there.
It's blue aura shines brighter than any other sword out there.
I will kill him without fail, just like any other demon.
A figure slowly coming out from the flames could be seen, until finally the left hand was out in the open. The man wore demon knight armor with all different engravings etched into them, each a different meaning in the underworld.
His dark red eyes stared down Haru as he kept walking towards him. A helmet covered everything but his eyes.
"You realize how pointless this all is. Heroes fighting against us for what? You won't get anywhere like this." He says while drawing his sword.
Demons like to say things as if they know everything compared to us but they don't and I will prove that a million times over.
"Hope you're ready to die here today." Haru responded while gripping his sword.
Without any hesitation Haru dashed in towards the demon with his sword ready to swing towards him. Right as the swords clash and shockwaves go past them, everything fades.
(Present time.)
It's been a long time since I've left Zianna but I think it's about time I make my name known so everyone will tell my tales. That bastard made them all forgot who I was, what I did, and how hard I worked for it all.
None of that will be the same this time though, not if I can help it.
I know where I'm heading first and it's going to be quite a long travel to get there but I believe that I'll find what I'm looking for there.
The town of Thiel, a place where most go for knowledge since it's for lots of old mages, adventurers, and even scrolls.
But the truth is I'm heading there to find out some information about an ancient artifact, I doubt it'll be there but I need to try.
Ever since that battle I've lost bits and pieces of my memories and I can't figure out what happened to some of my skills, magic, or even my knowledge on things. That artifact might be able to help with that issue.
Like that Haru began his travel for the town of Thiel , it was originally the hometown of the Hero Shuji but ever since he left it's changed. It's becoming a lot quieter since his absence but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing since they focused on knowledge and teaching people what they know.
Haru traveled many nights throughout the forests between Zianna, Ishtal, and eventually the forest leading to Thiel. Having to stop the last night of his travels to rest, another dream seems to plague him.
I always feel like this is the way for the world to get back at me some more. Showing me my sister when I know that I may never see her again.
Her short white hair just barely above her shoulders, the blue eyes we share, always wearing her leather armor but once in awhile I can see her in a dress standing next to our parents.
She had started a life briefly before going back to fight over and over again. Was that my fault that she wanted to fight against the demons too?
Being the older sibling really is tough sometimes when all you want to do is protect your family from danger.
"Haru why do you fight?" A Young Lena asks with a curious expression on her face.
I remember that question every time I see her, why do I fight? That's something that never changes in my mind no matter how much time passes.
"I fight to protect you, to protect Dad, to protect those who can't fight like I can." Haru replies while patting her head.
Back then if I knew what I did now maybe it would've been different, I would've stopped her from becoming a hero. It's one of the biggest burdens someone can take on, especially back then.
Young Haru begins to show her how to use a sword for awhile.
Teaching her how to fight in case I'm not around was the right thing to do but it encouraged her to fight even more. Without that I don't think she would've been able to keep Dad alive though.
She saved him when the demons attacked our home for the first and last time.
Everything around Haru changes once more but blood and bodies of demons are all around their house.
Yes, this scene I can't get out of my head either because it was the first time I ever saw Lena with blood on her. My sister was no longer the same sister I knew, but a stronger one who I thought would be a good hero.
She is a good hero but it takes too much out of her.
"Haru i- I killed them all. Dad's safe. I did it." Young Lena says with a blank expression on her face.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here in time." Haru speaks with a sad expression on his face.
This wasn't something I hoped she'd experience but I couldn't get here in time, I needed to kill the general at the time or he'd escape.
Immediately everything disappears as Haru wakes up at the sound of sticks breaking around him.
"Ah a guy with nice gear is sitting before us." A man with a gruff voice says.
Bandits out here, not really shocked. Waking me up like this is not going to be in their favor whatsoever.
"I'll give you a couple of seconds to walk away before you regret what comes next." Haru speaks up while grabbing his sword.
About four of them were around me, most of them appeared to have some sort of chainmail. One long sword, a mace, an axe, and a crossbow. Typical setup for a small group of bandits nowadays.
I guess I'll just have to kill them so I can continue on my way to Thiel.
