Chapter 13: Get Away to Martha's Vineyard
Liliana's POV
After Darick flew out of the apartment, Liliana stood up and began pacing. Stepping systematically around the bed, down the hallway, and in a circle through the living room. Over and over. Each step sorting through a thousand and one questions congesting her sanity. In the end, there was only one answer. It was time to do some research and connect the dots.
Walking past the shuttered doors of the florist later that morning, Liliana saw the note that had been printed up and taped to the glass. Both Aubrey and Tom had felt it was best if the shop was closed for a week. The police had also called to see when a good time for Aubrey would be to come down to the station and look through mug shots.
“Aubrey, I think you made the right decision. Just till this, all blows over. I’m going into my office today to do some sleuthing on Darick Xander. And Felicia. What happened to you yesterday was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I just don’t understand any of this.”
