Chapter 23

FWOOSH!!

Kara exhaled a huge amount of air from her cute mouth in order to blow out the flames as she got closer to it while Nathan kneeled on a burrow nearby but instead of being blown out, the fire further enhanced.

"That's not gonna work, Supergirl."

"I got it."

Seeing the fire get stronger instead of going out, Nathaniel shouted at Kara in order for her to try another thing to which she replied back with a nod before stopping her breath attack and used her heat vision to cut the lines new holding the ship and flew to the front in order to pull it away from the fire.

"That's a terrible idea, Kara."

Nathaniel, as if he had already foreseen the future muttered to himself as he watched Kara pull at the ship.

Kara at first was able to pull the ship a little bit away from the fire which resulted in the firemen clapping for her but that was when the trouble arrived.

CREAK!!... TEAR!!

The amount of strength that Kara applied to pull the ship became too much for the front of the ship to handle causing it to creak and tear off causing the oil inside to leak into the sea.

"Oh no."

"Don't worry about it, I will take care of it."

Kara floated above the water with her eyes wide open as she stared at the oil leaking into the water. Nathaniel knowing that it was his turn to save the day waved at Kara making her come down and then told her to not worry before moving closer to the ship and placed both of his hands on it.

ELECTRICAL CRACKLING!!

Nathaniel channelled his speedforce energy with him outward and covered the entirety of the ship with it causing his eyes to glow while the chirping of lightning echoed in the air.

Nathaniel after getting the entirety of the ship covered in his speed force energy inhaled and then exhaled out before starting to vibrate his hands and body. This was not to phase through things like he usually does but he was instead reversing the time of the ship to the point where it was okay.

The audience watched on in amazement as the front of the ship which was cleanly torn off by Supergirl started to return back to the point where it was intact.

"OMG! Is this something a human should be capable of accomplishing?"

"Am I dreaming or is this reality?"

The spectators looked and muttered in shock as this was something that they had never seen before. Most of the people have witnessed the likes of Superman doing something that defies the very thinking and capabilities of humans but they are all within something that you can wrap your head around but this was on a totally different level.

Messing around with the very concept of time is something that no human should be capable of and Kara was no different from the spectators around.

SWOOSH!!

"We are done here, Supergirl."

Nathan dashed off and put out the fire after he was done with the ship and then appeared beside Kara. Kara stared at Nathaniel with a slightly complicated look in her eyes before they both left the scene.

Kara took to the sky towards D.E.O. headquarters while Nathan went straight home but the moment he entered the house, he collapsed onto the ground.

TUMB!

"PANT!... I became carried away and used too much energy on this stunt, didn't I?"

["Yes, you overdid it this time. Time isn't something that anyone can mess around with as it is one of the components that drives the very reality and you applied it without any preparation or any experience. You are lucky that you weren't drained dry."]

The Speed Force system at this point became like a mother scolding Nathaniel for his reckless behaviour of using his [Chronokinesis] without any practice, preparation not experience.

This was the first time Nathaniel used any of his abilities that aren't normally available to other speedsters apart from his [Chrono-vision] which he used to find out how killed their mother.

"I know that I screwd up and ain't doing anything like this again."

Nathaniel nodded his head to the system as he acknowledged his mistake and pulled his body to the couch and rested up in order to recover his lost energy.

While recovering, Nathaniel's mind fell into a deep and long thinking as his recklessness during the mission brought some things to his mind. On top of being drained of almost all the Speed Force energy that he had in him, his body was almost drained out of energy.

He usually doesn't burn out much energy in order to run his desired speed but this time he had to exceed his minimum limit and tapped into his maximum capabilities which almost drained him dry and as an experienced crime fighter and an adventurer, he knew that this wouldn't be the last time that he has to exceed his minimum output.

There may come a time when he would have to exceed his maximum output and what if he gets drained up like this time, doesn't that mean that he would die?

These thoughts gave birth to an idea in his mind that he had not thought of yet. The idea was that, instead of waiting to be at his rock bottom on energy before he runs into the nearby restaurant to fill it, why don't he carry the food around with him instead?

It will also be a problem to carry around food while fighting but what if he made something small that he can carry in his pocket yet gives him the same energy level that he usually gets from eating a full-course meal?

These thoughts lingered in Nathan's mind and he soon fell asleep.

While Nathaniel was sleeping comfortably on his couch, Kara wasn't having it so good as most of the TV channels in the city were broadcasting what had happened early at the docks calling it the heroic save of the day.

Footages of how Kara ripped the front of the ship causing the oil in it to leak out and then the amazing display of power from the unknown speedster that was capable of rewinding time.
