Nothing But A Shadow

You turn to see an ominous black cloud of smoke which proceeds to take the form of the child that had once promised you your freedom, But he was different his iris were still emerald same as your but the white of his eye, if you can even call it that any more were bleeding a dark liquid which dripped out and turned into smoke which then circled him like a fiery aura. He started walking towards you as he pulled out a short icy blue karambit as he stuck his finger in the hole spinning it around his finger.

A wide toothy grin appeared on his face as he inched closer and closer as you stood there frozen in fear.

'What do I do it's not like I can summon my flames even if I had any mana would I be able to use them in my own mana realm, wait why am I even relying on his words he's probably the one who cut my arm why should I trust him'

You are brought back to reality by his sharp blade slicing through your cheek.

"Aieeeee!" You scream in pain as the blade digs deeper into your cheek before quickly being pulled out.

You swing at the boy who quickly jumps back licking your blood from his blade.

"Really daydreaming at a time like this are you really my Mother."

Before you can even react the kid slides past you as he swings for your arch tendon's and with a speed, you didn't think was possible you kick off of his blade using the momentum to jump back a few steps as you rush forward and kick him in his throat as he then begins to cough violently hands wrapped around his throat.

'How did I do that?'

you hastily grab his knife as you kneel over him knife against his throat "Why are you doing this you said you'd show me the way out!"

The figure begins to laugh as he gazes into your eyes and with and with a look of utter disgust as he says "Why would I let a mere shadow like you escape my mother's grasp."
