The Fittest Survive

Discontinued! A young girl and her struggles to survive in a cruel world where the strong thrive and the weak are crush underfoot. This is fiction. Any resemblance to real life is just a coincidence. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Just a warning, my updates will be sporadic but I will try to update at least once per week. One thing I promise is I won't abandoned this story without putting up a notification. I hate it when people just abandon a story and don't at least let people know they stopped.

It was the end of my second . Erik and I had grown stronger with each passing day. We weren't unrivaled in strength, however our strength had improved much. I had, over the course of this bloody test, killed 8 people.

My fourth kill was arrogant, my fifth one wanted Erik for power, and my sixth one begged me to end him, so I mercy slit his throat. My seventh and eighth ones were male twins who were idiots and perverts. I took canines from all but the sixth.

They had weapons on them but not much else. I figured all of them probably lived on a day-to-day basis. Together they had on them a broken knife, a sickle and chain, two pairs of clawed gauntlets, and a iron spear. If the clawed gauntlets had fit me, I wound have used them. Unfortunately, they were too big and could have injured me. I killed them using water in various ways. I used water from their stomachs to suffocate their throats, I controlled the water causing it to burst their stomachs or I compressed the water, shooting it at their hearts. High pressure water could cut rocks so why not skin.

My clothes were different too. Erik and I tag teamed an water deer to make clothes. My clothes for winter and summer were different of course. I used an ember tiger to make winter clothes. My summer clothes were light and airy, water deer skin had that feature. They consisted of a sleeveless shirt and shorts that were a light brown. My ember tiger clothes were very thick. They consistently stayed warm unless submerged in water for too long. It was a long sleeved shirt with pants. They remained loose to allow mobility.

I had made a bag with a wolf skin I killed. It contained all of my stuff I could fit. My spears were in a bundle over my back. The panther headress ended up getting burned by accident when me and Erik were training. I made a water nimr one after. It had beads and feathers attached to cord like my last one. Since it was a water nimr, it was resistant to fire.

Any day now, I expected to picked up or killed by someone. It depended on whether there was only five of us left. I felt a presence suddenly appear and hid to the side of the entrance. "I can feel your core, I know you are in here. Come out." Seeing no reason to stay hidden when the person knew I was here, I stepped out calling Erik to me.

It was a man with black hair and blue eyes in his forties. "Calm down." He stated in a cold voice. "If I wanted to kill you, you would have been dead before." I hated to admit it but he was right. If he could feel my core he could have easily assanatime. "It's time to go.

Congratulations, you made it to the end."

I went with him feeling numb. I mean I was feeling pretty neutral about going to my tribe. The chief left me here because I was defective and useless, I constantly got bullied there. If anyone tried to do that now though. I would either immediately pounce on them or wait till the arena to fight.

He brought me to the ship I came here on. I was introduced to the other survivors. Their names were Jack, Elise, Flint, and Rose. Apparently Elise and Flint teamed up and that's how they survived. Rose found a underground cave and survived off mushrooms. Jack didn't tell us how he survived and I also didn't. Better for people to underestimate me. I kept my headress on, feeling safer with it.
