Arlow closed up Slagar's skull with psychic biological manipulation, healing it as if there was never a wound in the first place. Then he took a few steps back from him, lowered the floating Slagar onto the floor of Pandamonium underneath, and prodded him with a psychic tendril to wake him up.
"I feel disoriented," Slagar said, trying to get himself to stand up straight.
"That's normal," Arlow responded without worry.
"How is it normal, this is the first time we have done this operation?" Slagar asked with a raised brow.
"The artificial organ is likely to cause disorientation. At least you didn't explode." Arlow said, joking.
Slagar didn't think it was a funny thought, as he thought of a clone test body they simulated, causing a small explosion in the Materium. Without having something to anchor the gland, it caused an abnormal reaction while drawing on the Immaterium. Speaking of the anchor, Slagar turned and asked Arlow about any changes in his psychic title anchor.
"Yes, there were some significant changes," Arlow stated seriously.
"It's better if I just show you," Arlow said while waving his hand.
Immediately an image appeared in Slagar's imagination, showing the normal 'title-anchor' that was supposed to look like a glowing star with his outline surrounding it. However, this was far from the case, in its place was a massive titan-like figure that stood 45 meters tall in the winds of the warp. It didn't even resemble him any longer, but looked more like a vague humanoid outline and the blurry appearance of an Old One could barely be recognized.
There seemed to be web-like patterns scattered around what would be the skin of the titan silhouette. It radiated an amount of power that was hard for the silver-influenced Immaterium energy of Arlow to suppress, radiating out at least 12 meters of distance from it.
"This?! What happened?!" Slagar asked, dumbfounded and in awe.
"There had been a reaction when the title was transformed into a psychic anchor for the Choran gland," Arlow reported with interest.
"Wait? Choran gland is the name we decided to go with?" Slagar said, a bit disappointed his name proposal was not chosen in the end.
He glanced at the tiny pea-sized backup Choran glands floating off to the side. It was hard for it to really sink in for him, that the tiny organ that was no bigger than a green pea could produce such a drastic mutation of the title to a titan-like size.
"Our results are unprecedented! *hiss* *hiss*" Slagar hissed, in excitement.
*Chuckle*
"Indeed," Arlow said, chuckling.
"Shall we continue the test in the Materium, then?" Arlow said, motioning his arm to the exit.
A portal was opened and Slagar appeared in the Materium, alongside Arlow, who was not affected by the change in location. Slagar immediately noticed a difference from before. He felt as if he hadn't left the Immaterium. It was as if the veil between the two dimensions was extraordinarily thin around him. And all the psykers around him felt this too, a deepening of the connection to the Immaterium, and a strengthening of their psyker powers.
"This is incredible!" Slagar exclaimed, while he effortlessly created warp fire above his head, covering the entire room without much effort.
"Hmm." Arlow frowned lightly and made a note to himself.
The Choran gland was engineered with the intention the become a complete opening between the Materium and the Immaterium, but it would seem that what works, in theory, does not always work perfectly in practice. It only thinned the barrier between the two to the point that it was like paper, but it had yet to break open entirely. Perhaps, only during significant draw from the Immaterium, would a hole be opened.
"Slagar, we should perform a stress test," Arlow announced.
"What do you want to do?," Slagar asked.
"Let's go and... find a bare planet to test on," Arlow said with caution.
Slagar and Arlow both got in a Scout-class Old One vessel and found a bare waste planet for testing. Slagar stood on the bare planet, with Arlow remaining on the ship above the planet recording the test, speaking to Slagar through the ship's communications.
"Stress test 1, Planet 336-T, category waste planet. You can begin now, Slagar." Arlow said.
The next moment seemed to last forever, like a calm before the storm. Slagar channeled his entire focus into generating warp lightning and increasing its power and size. The universe seemed to fluctuate and wave around the planet as vibrations increased in intensity. The hymns of the Immaterium could be heard as the veil grew thinner and thinner with each draw of power.
The lightning grew stronger and stronger as it was compressed and transformed into incredibly dense energy. And it grew large enough that it could no longer be contained within Slagar's hands, it was above him crackling like impending doom. And then, something even more interesting happened.
As the barrier between the Materium and Immaterium thinned, the titan-like projection of Slagar's anchor point began to manifest around him. Slagar began to float in the air and rise to the position of the heart of the titan silhouette. Until finally, the entire titan manifested around him like a ghostly reflection. Its hands are large enough to contain the ever-expanding and increasing energy of the warp lightning.
As Slagar moved his hand, so too did the titan silhouette enveloping him. He continued to expand every ounce of spiritual force behind his psychic abilities, until 3 minutes later. The warp lightning he condensed was large enough to be called a moon in size, and its density was enough to stand on.
"ROAAAHHHH!" Slagar released the energy to the planet.
The impact of the warp lightning was quick, impacting like a meteor from orbit. The earth beneath the titan-Slagar cracked and as the lightning melted the earth was like butter. The energy continued down, cutting through the entire planet itself, and even continuing out into space, like a massive weapon of destruction let loose in space.
*CRUMBLE*
The planet began to collapse in on itself, disintegrated from the concentrated warp lightning energy. The silhouette of the titan enveloping Slagar slowly disappeared as the veil between the Materium and Immaterium rethickened and repaired itself. He slowly floated back down to the destroyed earth, landing gracefully on the ground. A few moments later, Slagar's voice came from the communications of the ship Arlow was recording from.
"I think I need a pick me up." He said, with embarrassment.
