Chapter 2! Knight and Magic Academy

"Come here my child" the chief elder said in a weak voice

"Gra... Granpa please don't die, please wait im going to call a healer to heal you." Arthrex said as he sobbed.

"Silly child, it's not that I'm sick; it's just that I'm old, and no matter how amazing the magic is, it's still impossible to heal a dying man from old age."

The chief elder stated

"More importantly, this is yours," the Chief Elder said as he handed Arthrex a black pendant.

"What is this, Grandpa?"Arthrex asked as he continue sobbing.

"When your aunty Helen found you at the entrance of the village fifteen years ago, that pendant was with you. I'm not sure what it's for, but it could be your only lead to finding your parents and....."Before he could finish what he had to say, the chief elder died.

"NO!!! grandpa dont leave me alone..."Arthrex said as he wailed.

"no huhuhuhu"

A week after

*knock knock*

"Coming," Arthrex said as he went to open the door after hearing someone knock.

"Are you ready, Arthrex?

The carriage is getting ready to leave."

Helen said, her gaze fixed on Arthrex.

"Yes, aunty Helen," Arthrex said with a smile.

Helen sized up Arthrex and said, "Hmmm your wearing chief elder armor when he was an adventurer not bad not bad."

"Right? do I look handsome?" Arthrex said as he keep doing poses.

If anyone tries to compare with Arthrex appearance, they would shy away.

Arthrex may seem innocent, but his golden eye gleam with sharpness.

Though his body does not appear to be that of a knight, but rather that of a mage, beneath the armor he wears is solid muscle.

"hahahahahaha you conceited punk!!" Helen laughed while rubbing Arthrex golden hair.

"Let's go" Helen said.

They're talking as they walk, not realizing they've arrived at the carriage.

"Is it really necessary for you to leave? You know, you could just stay here and become the next village chief, and no one would object."

Arthrex nodded, returned his gaze to the direction of the chief elder's house, and spoke.

"Yes, I want to find my biological parents, and I also want to be an adventurer like my grandpa."

"Is that so. that's good that you already know what you're gonna do." Helen said.

"Simply come back and visit us whenever you have the opportunity; we will always welcome you."

"Thank you so much for everything, i will miss you all" Arthrex nodded and said his goodbye before getting in the carriage.

Its been two days now since Arthrex departed.

Taking a ride in a carriage Arthrex looked out the window, clearly excited about his destination, where he would be learning magic.

Arthrex continued to pursue magic because he loved it so much, but he didn't want to forget about his swordsmanship because he promised his grandfather that he would reach the end of the realm with his sword.

Hmmmm, what is that?" Arthrex murmured as he looked through the window, then heard someone yell.

"Its wolf pack is about to attack, be prepared." one of the mercenary guarding the carriage.

The carriage came to a halt.

Arthrex exited the carriage to assess the situation.

"It appears that everything is under control; those mercenaries are excellent."

Arthrex mumbled.

Then Arthrex felt a strong killing intent from the forest and turned his face toward the direction.

"Arrrrrggggh!!! Please help!!!"

one of the mercenary yelled as got bitten in the neck.

A hideous beast emerges from the forest; it resembled to a lycanthrope and was nearly as tall as Arthrex, who stood 6 feet tall.

"becareful, It's a Spirit beast" Arthrex yelled

The mercenaries were ready to fight, but when Arthrex yelled, they backed off.

To face off a spirit beast, the minimum realm should be grand knight, but mercenaries have none of that. Even though they group and try to destroy the spirit beast, they will still fail.

The mercenaries wanted to flee after realizing it was a spirit beast, but they knew they couldn't outrun it because most of them are only advanced knight.

"fuck it. even if I can't defeat it, I will still leave my mark on its body." one of the mercenaries said angrily.

" WAIT! I'll handle it," Arthrex said, pulling his sword from its sheath.

The mercenaries all looked at one another before looking at Arthrex, and they all thought he was pretentious.

Arthrex took a stance, waiting for the spirit beast to attack. The spirit beast moved and dashed to attack Arthrex, swinging its arm and hitting a strand of golden hair that fell out of Arthrex's hair as he dodged.

Then Arthrex slashed his sword, but because the mercenaries couldn't see Arthrex move, they assumed he was terrified of the spirit beast.

Then Arthrex shakes off a drop of blood from his sword before sheathing it again, and the spirit beast is cut in half.

"whoaaa!!" one of mercenaries shouted in awe.

"young man you are great We had no idea you were so strong because you don't look like a knight."

"Thank you for helping us" one of the mercenary said and smiled.

They resume their journey after thanking Arthrex. However, because Arthrex has become popular among mercenaries, the carriage has become slightly noisier inside.

"Finally," Arthrex exclaimed as he noticed the city from a distance.

Observing from a distance As he saw the city, Arthrex's eyes glowed with excitement.

From afar, the city was surrounded by a large, tall wall, large enough to keep any beast from invading.

"Young man, you looked excited, what brought you here to Yuton city?" one of the mercenaries inquired.

"Oh, I intend to attend the Knight and Magic Academy." Arthrex said with a smile.

"ahh I see, I'm sure your name will be heard across a continent after all, I never heard of a 15-year-old attaining the strength of Grand Knight," one of the mercenaries said, admiring Arthrex.

"I came here to attend in the magic division." Arthrex explained

"WHAT!!!" all the mercenaries exclaimed, dumbfounded.

"We're here!!!" exclaimed the coachman.

"I appreciate you giving me a ride." As he bid farewell, Arthrex said

All of the mercenaries were still reeling from the shock.

Who would have guessed that a young man with the strength of a Grand Knight would waste his talent by learning magic?

True, magic is more powerful than a knight, but as long as you have a higher realm than mages, you will not be defeated.

Given that Arthrex was already a grand knight, it appears that he was a genius who could easily outperform his peers.

Arthrex wanders aimlessly, hoping to find a Inn to stay for the day.

"Is this the knights and Mages academy?" After wandering aimlessly, Arthrex had a thought.

As he looked around, he noticed that the buildings were surrounded by a wall. There are a lot of buildings inside, but there are two exceptional buildings that look like castles.

"These two builds should be for Knights and Mages." Arthrex had a thought.

"Anyway, I'll return tomorrow; it's a good thing I know where the academy is already, because I won't have to worry about getting lost tomorrow. But for the time being, I need to find a Inn because it's getting late." Arthrex stated.
