The Last Ingredient

After arriving at the Daxhoull Oscar and Izumi directly went to the cave. Izumi was surprised to see the cave and the magical lake. She was even more surprised after seeing Kairi. It was her first time meeting a spirit.

"Oscar, welcome back. I see you brought a friend with you."

"She is Izumi. I will tell you details later but for now, she has to stay here until I get the ingredients I need."

Kairi didn't say anything but looked into Oscar's eyes. She could feel the sadness of Oscar. She was worried because of his extreme emotions for the last week.

"Are you sure about this? What you are planning to do is... it something will change you forever."

"I already crossed the point of no return. I already killed three people."

Kairi released a heavy sigh. She didn't want him to shoulder this kind of burden. But it was already too late for this. The first person he killed was turned to dust and the others were cleaned up by Akane.

The gentle kid was already gone at this point. The Oscar that stood in front of her was full of vengeance. He wasn't a cold-blooded killer but he wasn't hesitating when it came down to avenging his fallen friend. It was understandable for her but it still pained her heart.

"I will bring the last material. We will begin the ritual at midnight."

"Okay. I will prepare the formation circle you have given me... Be careful, Oscar. Revenge might not bad but killing people who aren't involved is something unacceptable. You can't lose your way because of your anger."

Oscar didn't say anything but he nodded his head. He was aware of the truth of Kairi's words. He was burning with the fire of vengeance. He wanted to kill those who were responsible for Mason's death. But he was also afraid of getting used to killing people.

I have to do this. I have to kill them or I can't get over this for the rest of my life. Thought Oscar. He wanted to kill but was also afraid of getting used to it. He wanted to kill because he needed some kind of closure. He released a heavy sigh. I ain't will become an edgy boy, he promised to himself.

Charlotte slowly walked into the hallway. The faint light of the moon was illuminating the hallway. Her blonde hair was set loose and she was wearing a nightgown. Her eyes had dark circles around them hinting at her lack of sleep.

A few steps later she reached a room. This was the living room. She couldn't sleep and decided to drink herbal tea while sitting in the living room. Since she couldn't sleep she decided to relax in the living room.

She opened the door with a cup of herbal tea in her hand. What she found inside was something she couldn't even imagine in her wildest nightmares. There were pieces of human bodies everywhere. They were clearly butchered by something. Aside from the human pieces, there were bloodstains everywhere the eye can see.

"Hello, Charlotte."

Charlotte couldn't help but look at the source of the voice. There sits a boy of her age, in the middle of this mess. His sharp brown eyes were focused on her. She felt the fear she never felt before. Her body start shaking and she took a step back.

This familiarity of the voice made her body cold as ice. After hearing his voice she recognized his face. The face of the brown-haired kind boy appeared on her face but this face was worlds apart from the one she was seeing in front of her right now.

"O-oscar!"

"It's been a while. How are you?"

"W-what a-are y-you d-doing here? A-and W-what happened them?"

"Oh, these? They were annoying. They tried to stop me and kill me. Oh, now that I mentioned killing, what did you feel when you gave the order to kill Mason?"

She nervously gulped. This was supposed to be secret she thought. And before she knew it she start to run away only for something to grab her ankle and make her fall face to the ground. When she turned her head and looked at the thing that caught her she only saw a tentacle made of water.

"Where are you going? We just begin. We have a lot of things to talk about."

"P-please let me go! Please!"

"Nope. You and the men who obey you took Mason's life. I will never forgive anyone who hurts my friends."

"! W-wait! It wasn't me! I swear it wasn't me!"

"Really? Then who was it? Tell me, Charlotte."

"I l-learned Mason's death from my father's s-secretary. She didn't tell me who gave the order. I only learned it after he died. That's all I know, I swear!"

Oscar coldly looked at her face. When she said that she didn't know who gave the order, he was displeased. She could feel the temperature of the house was rapidly dropping. Oscar was angry about not getting any useful info but he forcefully calmed down his mind.

"Then you will be coming with me. I will deal with you later. Right now I have things to take care of. I also already got what I needed. So there is no reason left to waste time here."

Oscar knocked out Charlotte and put her body over his shoulder. After leaving the house he burnt it down with his fire magic. The bright flames of the house put him at ease a little. At least that's the last thing Charlotte remembered.

This wasn't the main house of the Houll Family. This was one of the many small and safe houses they have over the city. Turns out it wasn't so safe. The Houll Family suffered last time before their inevitable end.

With the body of the unconscious girl and a jar full of crimson light, Oscar runs towards the old church. In the cover of the night, no one noticed him as he looked to be the most suspicious person who ever existed. While he was moving, that jar full of crimson light was giving strange vibes to the surroundings.
