6 Meeting old friends

Ryan was brimming with excitement as he stand there in front of the bullford academy gates. Even though the 100% of effort only lasted a few days he still made it to the peak of body refinement.

Ryan put on a smile and took his first steps through the gates. You can see through the academy gates so he wasn't shocked by the surrounding once he made it to the other side. Its not like there was even anything to be shocked at anyway. It just a bunch of kids walking around with 3 large buildings near the center.

His eyes survey the surrounding, looking for any sign bored. Or simply anything that will point him in the right direction to the entry test.

Booooo!!

Ryan jumped back so fast just to see one of his friends he made in his manaless school laughing at him. Ryan just look at him expressionlessly and said. "A normal greeting would of been fine".

(Sneaking up behind me yelling boo in my ear, just you wait.) Ryan thought to himself.

Watching his friend still laughing after it was done, only annoyed him even more.

Ryan had to try his best not to punch Jhon right in his face. (It wasn't even that funny no other kids in the surrounding even laugh, at most they just smiled at my reaction to getting scared.)

This is his best friend Jhon. He is taller than Ryan by a few inches. Pale skin, looks like he never trained a day in his life. He not fat but he not far from it either. He not a big fan of fighting, but still understand he need strength to have a choice not to fight.

They always talking and joking around with each other. They are really close friend, to where if you see one of them you will subconsciously look for the other on the side of them. The last time Ryan saw him was about 5 months ago when school ended.

"Stop glaring at me like that, I'm done laughing". Jhon facial expression slowly shows signs of becoming normal before, "hahaa". He bursted out laughing again

Ryan narrow his eyes at Jhon and said. " If you don't stop, I will tell every girl we meet you have a crush on them. You better hope Jenny not in this academy."

Jhon instantly became silent with slight dread flickering in his eyes." Pleeaassee don't. Im still not 100% sure she even a girl yet. The only thing that feminine about her is her voice. I wouldn't be surprised if she a guy using a girl voice."

Ryan start laughing." She not that bad, why you being mean. She did confess to you in front of everyone. Ryan said with a smirk on his face.

"All i said she got a beautiful voice not knowing it was her singing."

Jhon used a tone of being helpless." Let's stop talking about it, i don't want to be reminded about that extremely uncomfortable confession." Jhon shivered just thinking about it l.

" alright, sooo, when did u start senseing mana. I didn't expect to see you here".

He gave Ryan a weird look and said "I been was able to, I started senseing mana months before school ended. I just didn't bring it up, I thought I would wait for you to start senseing it too before announcing it. I didn't want you to feel pressure or overly worry for no reason."

"You know you didn't have to do that"

"Yeah I know but when other people in our class start senseing mana. I could tell you always had a down cast look on your face. Almost like you won't never be able to start senseing mana like everyone else or something. You actually made me worry a little"

Ryan couldn't help but be a little moved hearing his friend. "Thanks, you know it pretty hard not to feel a little inferior when u got a talented big brother. He was able to sense mana when he was only 11 years old and I started last month. I'm already 14 going on 15"

John put his arm around Ryan shoulder and said "look at the bright side, you still awakened at a average time like everyone else. Plus if someone stronger try to bully you, just get your brother on them."

"I would be lucky if my brother don't join in with them to bully me."

Jhon started laughing but Ryan just kept a straight face. He didn't know Ryan was being dead serious when he said that.

They eventually found the area for the entry test. Ryan observed the line looking for any other familiar faces and noticed a small girl with a bright smile looking back at him. As she ran straight to him her enticing, constellation-blue eyes made contact with his making it impossible to look away. Her long, moon shadow-black hair flowing in the wind. A sculpted figure which was twine-thin and Her waist was tapered in the right places. Set of dazzling, angel-white teeth gleamed at Ryan as she ran towards him.

Ryan couldn't help but put on a smile as she jumped in his arms for a hug. Than his smile stiffened as he hear her yell

"it been so long big brother." In the most charming way possible.

People couldn't help but look over at them. He didn't mind that she said it but she didn't have to yell it catching everyone attention.

This is one of his closest female friends her name is Jessica. She a little shorter than Ryan and Jhon, and a year younger. She stay wearing a bright, genuine smile on her face. Her infectious laughter will make you always subconsciously want to laugh with her.

Ryan met her around the same time as Jhon. Ryan was pretty smart for his age and was at the top of the class. She always used to ask him for help with homework and things she don't understand.

Ryan never thought much about it when she ask him, so he always agreed to help. One random day she just started calling him big brother, so he just went with it.

After she jumped into ryan arms, Jhon try to join the hug but he got kicked away by her. Ryan couldn't help but to laugh a little. They all started talking again and catching back up.

Eventually Ryan ask Jessica. "when did you start senseing mana?"

Jessica hesitated to respond. Ryan could tell from the hesitating she doing that she probably the same as Jhon. So he reassure her by saying. "it's fine no need to feel bad about saying it. Jhon right here was able to use mana in school too, he just never said anything. I'm guessing you are the same."

She look at him will apologetic eyes and said "yes."

Ryan just wave his hand at her and said. "It is fine we made it here at the end of the day. No need to make that look."

Ryan turned back and look at the entry test area and said. "let's get this over with, I heard the test is pretty simple."
