(MIDNIGHT SNEAK)

"Y-you are a devil…"

"You bring us bad luck, you are a curse!"

"Go away, I don't wanted to see you anymore, g-go away…"

"Gah!"

Fei jolted from his bed, from his shattered bits and pieces of bad memories from the past. "Ouch…" His overreaction causes his wound to ache. He rub his stomach, but found that the wound is already treated. "W-what happened?" He recalled back, trying to pieces up the event occurring moments ago, but failed. He touch the back of the neck; the amulet sheet is placed back once more. "Phew…" He let out a deep breath, at least he had some consciousness control over it. "The time…" He take a quick glimpse at the clock, before his eyes widening as he screamed:

"It is already half past five!!?"

"Gah…" Fei rubbed his sore back, all those excessive working really does make his wages worth it. Luckily he wasn't late, he make it in the café, get dressed and ready barely, just a minute before his shift started. Thinking back, he wouldn't make it in time if not for that "ghost" in his room." It prepared all his items nice and neatly for him, allowing him to just rush to the café without worrying anything. Now this really changed Fei's perspective of this problem. Recalling back, it barely did any harm, except doing those freaky stuff at night. His objective right now had shifted, from capturing and exterminate, to communicate with it. Who knows, maybe it is a friendly one, maybe the could even be roommates.

With those thoughts in mind, Fei boarded the shuttle bus and head back to SKY Academy.

If the school after class is eerily quiet, then the academy at midnight is a total ghost-town.

Fei carefully walked down the same hallway he passed by in the afternoon. He uses the flashlight of his phone to light up a dim path for him. He tried to make every step as silent as possible, for some reason. Suddenly, he step onto something as it let out a crackle. He backs up, just to find the marble floor beneath it is shattered, alongside some blood stains around it. He look around, seeing on of the lockers from the left row is bent inwards, so this is the place where the fight occur. He look around, that fat boy is long gone. He let out a deep breath before continuing, somehow quickening his pace, the light of the elevator shaft in front of him is like a lighthouse, guiding him, a lost boat in a storming sea to safety.

"Training Zone is at…" He stare at the buttons in it, before finally pressing the one of the fifth floor. The elevator started to rise, within seconds it reached it's destination. The elevator door opened with a "ding", the sharp bell like ring echoes down the empty hallway, giving a dash of spookiness. With heavy hearts, Fei step out of the light. The metal doors of the elevator close behind him, as the sensory light began to illuminate the hallway, flickering to life once sensing his presence.

With the light in his side, Fei felt less afraid. He took out his student license before pressing the "map" icon on it. A virtual hologram appeared right in front of it, showing the map of the school. He pressed on the icon with a dumbbell on the row of lists beside it, the hologram flickers for a while before showing him the right path, guiding him with a hovering red arrow floating at the height level of his eye. "Guess I should keep moving."

"A thousand and ten…"

In the seemingly empty training zone, a figure is doing push ups using the gravitational function. Inside the zone, the gravitational pull is twice the normal, causing some tasks to be almost impossible to done due to the difficulty to move. But for her, it is just a piece of cake. "A thousand and two…" Sweat rained down from her face and drop down onto the puddle beneath her. Her clothe was soaked completely, dripping wet. The sweat causes her body to be exceptionally shiny. When she is about continue her training, she heard the sound of someone approaching.

"Who is here at such time?" She thought herself, she didn't wanted to stop though, she still wanted to break her brother's record, but at the same time she didn't wanted appear awkward in front of anyone who is entering. The way she looks right now is quite embarrassing, with only a set of sport bra and booty shorts on, she didn't to ruin her social status. So she stood up and hid behind the gigantic punching drum, keeping quiet as the door swung open.

"Man, who left the lights on?" Fei entered the training room, just to found the lights were still on. "Whatever." He will close it on the way out. He walk towards the equipment table to find the soul stone, a unique mineral that enter our dimension alongside the devils. By drilling a hole in the middle of it and looking through it, you are able to see spiritual beings. Unlike undead or demons, this tool is essential for most hunters, except whose with natural senses. Fei took one of the flat, circle stone. He check it for a few times before deciding to head back. Somehow he felt he wasn't alone, he isn't comfortable about this.

"What?" On the way towards the exit, Fei step onto a puddle of water. He raised his feet up and inspected it, this isn't plain old water, this is sweat. Fei sniffed the air, it smells sourish and sweaty, with a weird milky scent. This all sums up to one thing, there is a second person in this training zone. "Hey!" Fei called out. "Anyone here?" Erina covered her mouth with her hand, trying to stay quiet as possible, crud, she is being found out.

"Should I left the lights on for you?" He asked once again, still, she refused to reply. "Hello?" Once again, she chose silent as the answer. "Alright then…" He shrugged before finally turning back to leave. Erina let out a sigh of relief as she place her hand down, accidentally flipping the lever of the punching drum. The drum came to life with a mechanical whirr, lights started to circle around it, as if it is begging people to punch it in the face, serving its purpose. "W-what?" Fei approached the drum, coming closer and closer to her hiding spot. Erina grab the crossbow, reloading a shot into it, she could've kill this random guy if he exposed his identity. She didn't had her cloak on, the mark is still visible on her naked shoulder, centuries of Van Helsing secret is going to be ruined in her hands, she couldn't let this happened.

"Man, this looks fun!" But his attention fell onto the training equipment, as the hologram assistant told him how this machine works. The rule is simple, gave it your best hit and it will automatically calculate your strength, easy peasy. Fei pulled down the sleeve and raised his hand, deciding to give it a try. "Just a little." He rip off the edge of the amulet sheet at the back of his hand. Energy surges around him as he raised his fist. His limb started to change drastically, from a skinny stick of bone into a muscular popsicle. With veins popping out of it, steaming red. He gave his elbow a few circle of swing before letting out a deep long breath and lunge his fist towards the drum. His fist impacted the drum with a huge thud, even Erina jolted a bit, covering her ears, trying to block off the thundering boom cause by such tyrannical force.

"Gah, why does machines kept broking down today?" Fei take a look at the display screen but was instantly disappointed by the result, with a "N" on it, instead of numbers. "I think I needed more training." With that he finally left the training room, after making sure the sector is clear, Erina crept out of her spot. She tip toed towards the door and through the small square windows of it, she could see the back of a boy walking down the hallway, fidgeting the soul stone in his hand. It was then, she realises that she never turned the gravitational switch off. He is doing all of it in a pressure of staying a thousand league in the water, something that even well-trained militaries couldn't stand of.

"Who is he?" She approached the punching drum, picking up the student license he accidentally dropped down. She inspected it a while, before laying her eyes onto the machine. The machine is heavily overloaded. It is whirring furiously like a jet turbine, with smoke and gas pumping out of it, the number: "NULL" still remains on the screen. In the centre of a drum is a gigantic fist mark, twice the size of ones that belonged by average human beings, still steaming hot from all that amount of friction.

The fist of a devil.
