Editor Ashley
Landon and Elliott walk into a nice modern café. Elliott gentlemanly open the door for Landon. Landon looks around to look for Elliott first but didn't see anyone that looks like one. So then he turn to Elliott he was about to tell he do not see his editor, but he was already took him to an unoccupied table of four.
"Wow your editor is not here yet? That pretty weird and I thought we were going to be late but she's not even here." Landon complain to Elliott. It's true that they are a bit late, because of the traffic from the milk tea place to the café. They were at least 10 minutes away from each other. And they just barely made it to the meeting on time. But in the ends they were the first party to arrive.
"It's fine. If she's not here in a minute, I'll just tell her my general idea and the rest to the editor in chief." Elliott told Landon as he plays with his hair.
Landon just casually drink his milk tea. And he sees a women, with a nice figure of an hourglass, long jet black curly hair, and fox like blue eyes. Wow she was really pretty, though to Landon being in the entertainment industry for seven years, you will get use to beautiful people. Then Landon move on from here and watch the other people in the café.
Mid-people watch Elliott stop messing with his hand. Landon doesn't know when he move from playing his hair to his hand but he just stop touching him. So Landon thought that his editor might be here. Landon turn to see that it was the girl who walked in coming towards them. This time Landon really pay attention on how she looks. Because what kind of editor is the one late, isn't usually the write?
She had some thick makeup on and wearing a short pink skirt, with a white crop top and a oversized cream colored cardigan. And she pair the outfit with clear heels.
She doesn't look like she is carrying much compared to a usual editor would have. Actually matter a fact she is carrying more of a date look than a professional job look.
She comes and sit down. Landon looks at Elliott to make sure that this is the right person they are meeting. Elliott just nods towards Landon. Landon move a little more back and closer to Elliott.
"Hi I am Ashley! I am your new editor." Ashley lean over for Elliott to shake her hand. Elliott just nods his head at her as he cross his arms.
"Hello, Editor Ashley if I am not mistaken are you not the publishing company President daughter?" Elliott ask with his face emotionless and serious.
"Yes, I am working for father to learn about the company and I heard that you needed a temporary editor, so I ask daddy if I could be for editor. I just love your books and I wanted to know how you look like I heard rumors that you were handsome. Though seeing you in person doesn't compare to the rumors." Ashley confess to Elliott, forgetting that Landon is there. Which he does not mind since he want to enjoy his milk tea in peace.
"You like me books which one is your favorite?" Elliott gave a business like smile.
"Oh, your last work, that you publish this year, was really good. I love the plot and character development." Ashley comment. Though to Landon it sound like she didn't really pay much to Elliott work. For the pass half of this year and currently Elliott been working on two screen writings. So how was she able to read this last work?
"Okay. Thanks. Let's begin our meeting, I am in a hurry." Elliott tell her, and she nodded.
"I am going to but all my work on hold for a month, because of personal reason. " Landon heard what Elliott said, and look at him with a why reaction. Elliott just pats his head telling him to not worry about it.
"Why you want to put all your work on hold?" Ashley ask.
"Like I said personal reasons." Elliott shortly answers her.
"Is it because of a girlfriend?" Ashley tried to get to know Elliott personal life. Landon looks at Elliott, then looks away quickly. Landon thought "no but he has an engagement and it's to the person sitting next to him.
"No, also I like to keep work and private life separated. Please." Elliott stops her from asking any more questions.
"I see but it didn't hurt to just ask." Ashley blush as she got caught trying to get closer to Elliott.
"Also I am going to go over the other thing that I need to discuss with the editor-in-chief. This meeting is over." Elliott said to Ashley. Grabbing Landon hand to walk out of the store. Ashley stop functioning for a bit and got up quickly to stop them. Once she realized what was happening.
"Wait! You can't leave and if you want to talk about things related to work! You talk to me I am your editor right now!" Ashley throw a tantrum. As she tries to grab hold of Elliott's hand but he move his arm before she touch him.
"If you a really my editor and really trying to learn about the company. Also you would not have requested me, you would've just wait to let the chief give you whatever job to do. Next, if you would've been here earlier and you would have been dress like a professional not someone on a date then thing would be different. But it seems like you wanted to go on a date rather then work." Elliott finish his statements, walk out the door, dragging Landon with him. Leaving a shock Ashley behind.
Once Landon and Elliott got to the car. Landon spoke up to say something.
"Wow did you have to be so harsh?" Landon felt bad how thing played out earlier, but he can't help feel satisfied with the end.
"It's fine. She needs to learn the harsh part of life." Elliott said like it was nothing.
"I guess… While let's go clothes shopping since mother wants us to match tonight." Landon instructs Elliott. He nods and starts the car.
