89 My mothers last words

My whole world was shattered as my mother returned to the cottage completely sick. Grandma was extremely worried and immediately began to tend to her.

I never exactly found out what she was suffering from.  She had a terrible fever and sores all over her body.

At first, I thought that it was just something that would eventually come to pass but, unfortunately, she only got worse and showed no signs at all of healing. My Grandmother called the local physician to check on my mother. The results of the physician's diagnosis only worsened my fears.

I didn't really understand the terms my grandmother and the physician used to describe what was wrong but I knew my mother was going to die.

Grandma stopped going out to drink like she used to and stayed home to take care of my mother. It was scary to witness how quickly things were progressing. And to add to make it worse my mother never wanted to see me.
