A meeting with the Emperor
GENERAL KANGS POV
The day finally arrived for me to meet with the emperor. It was early in the morning as I sat in the carriage that made its way to the palace, I found myself constantly thinking about what the emperor could possibly be doing with Ayan. The question had been eating away at me for the past two days as I waited for today.
He just took her without any warning just as the trial ended. His actions seemed premeditated like he'd planned this ahead of the trial, but for what? What could he possibly want from her? I feared the answer to that question. It pained me, an emotional pain that tore away at my heart to the point of feeling actual physical pain. I knew it could only be something I wouldn't like. I feared what awaited me once I found out.
