'Is he going to kill me?' Le Lao Ling thought as the sharp blade made a clean cut across his face. He could do nothing but stare speechlessly as the sword passed near his eyes. He only felt the pain on his face…as for the rest of his body, he was numb; unable to move a single muscle on his body.
He did not know what had happened. The next thing he knew, he was somewhere else, with his father, Le Zuan looking at some paper.
"So you are finally out of it?" Le Zuan said the obvious question and spoke, "stand up and look around you." Le Zuan motioned towards Le Lao Ling. As if in a hypnotic state, he stood up and looked around.
"Why are we here?" Le Lao Ling finally asked. He had been staring at it for quite a while. "More importantly, where are we?" He turned to face his father.
He could sense the invisible barrier that surrounded them. Right now, he felt like he was a bird trapped in a cage.
