Chapter 2

Sitting down on a bench located at the rooftops, it was finally lunch. Feeling the burning heat of the sun on Seong's skin made her feel relief.

Class was long… all the instructor said was something I learned last year… she sighed.

Last year, Seong was able to make it to the advanced classes. But because she moved, it was most likely she would be starting all over again.

"Hey!! Seong!"

Seong would quickly lift her head up in response.

Rian would be approaching Seong quickly while dragging a figure behind her.

"Eh—?"

"I gotta introduce you to someone!"

Seong would tilt her head in confusion. One side of mind was questioning why while the other side was a spark of curiosity.

"Sure." Seong replies.

Rian would gently shove the figure she dragged all the way to the rooftop right in front of Seong.

"Ghah— Why must you do this—" a male voice whined.

Oh no.

"Because… you don't have any friends."

"Hey! I have a friend!"

"Whatever, whatever! Just do it. It's not that hard!"

"Fine, fine!"

The male figure turned to Seong, giving her a good look and observation at him.

The usual looks. Black hair and blue eyes… wait. Kind of like me but my eyes are black… would anyone think I look emo with all my natural colors being black—?

Seong would snap out of her thoughts as he spoke.

"Hey— uhm. The name's Shaun Xenolock."

"Shaun Xenolock… unique."

"Huh—"

Rian would smack him harshly on the shoulder.

"OI!"

Shaun yells out, rubbing his shoulder gently.

"She's just observant, that's all."

"I realized that— but you can't hit me—"

"I saw the judgment and regret on your face."

"I wasn't—"

Seong would blink in confusion, clearly puzzled by how those two got along. Yet without realizing, Seong had already dug deep into her thoughts.

Shaun Xenolock… a childish boy. I don't understand how he doesn't seem to get along with Rian… maybe they're just like that—

"And she is—?"

!!

"Seong. Seong Kang."

She replies immediately.

Rian and Shaun would stare at each other in surprise before their vision shifts to Seong.

"… What?"

. . .

Time passed by. The sun was quickly setting down as it got slightly colder. All the students would be leaving Shokari Academy, the school for the gifted. A school that was owned by a high leveled Japanese being.

Seong would close her locker after she gathered her stuff as she soon followed along with all the other students, returning home or dorms to finish their work. Yet, Seong was walking alone as not even a single thought about Shaun or Rian poked her mind.

As Seong exited the school campus, she slowly looked up. Realizing she took a different turn to the dorms.

… I took a wrong turn… I should probably turn back—

Seong's eyes slowly shifted to her hands. They uncontrollably trembled. But they weren't affected by the weather.

"… My hands. They're trembling—?"

Seong mumbles under her breath.

She proceeded to slide her hands into her jacket pockets, but they continued to tremble uncontrollably.

This only frustrated Seong as she pulled her trembling hands out of her pockets, glaring at her hands.

"Why—"

She has been roaming for hours after feeling nervous to return home.

But she doesn't understand why she feels that way.

Thoughts roamed inside her head as her hands trembled in her pockets—

Seong would blink, finally snapping out of the flashback of the incident. But as she wasn't so sure what to do, Seong continued walking through the wrong street as her distance to the dorms increased.

As she continued walking forward, she suddenly stopped and froze in place. Her body was on a whole different page compared to her mind.

Luckily, she would be glad her body reacted before she herself could.

Seong could see a pair of glowing blue eyes slowly approach her as it loudly exhaled. As it got closer, it was a Chasm monster.

Chasm monster…? How did it end up here? She thought.

Chasm monsters originate in the Chasm. a boundless abyss that creates the darker and negative truths of every single being.

Observing it a bit more. The glowing eyes still sparked its blue color. It was a low leveled monster. But even Seong would struggle to fight it with her useless gift.

Seong also observed that the Chasm monster had taken the shape of a human being. This would only make things a bit more complicated.

But within a flash, the Chasm monster would dash towards Seong. Clearly showing off how much powerful it can be against her as it knocked her across the streets.

"GAAK—!" she screamed.

Seong would crash onto the ground as pieces of the ground were launched up before bouncing on the ground a bit from the impact.

Even with a low tier monster, the line of blood dripped down Seong's lip.

Seong would quickly wipe the blood off her mouth as the adrenaline was quickly rushing through her body. She quickly got up before dashing to the side, luckily dodging the monster's incoming punch.

She quickly lost balance as she rolled to the side. But her fall didn't stop her as she stood up and continued running.

Dammit… I don't have a weapon because of it…!

She thought, her eyes widening in fear as the Chasm monster chased her across the streets.

Seong heavily breathed as she was losing stamina. If she continues to run any further, she will surely slow down.

Please… please! Someone… Someone please help—!

Help?

Seong's eyes widened as the location had suddenly changed. She could see herself standing in a field of white flowers.

What the… what is this?

You have asked for help. Didn't you?

… Did I die already?

Of course not, silly. The image you're seeing is the vision of my domain.

Domain…? Wait— you're—!

Enough about me. You think the gift that was given to you was that useless huh—?

I can't even activate it. Now I'm going to die by a low tier Chasm monster.

Then allow me to prove you wrong.

Wrong—?

Seong would snap back into reality. The sound of silence crawled up her sense of hearing as she slowly looked up at the moon being covered by the Chasm monster. It's arm raising up, preparing to end it all. When suddenly…
