Squadron Abilities (II) - Chris' Secret

"I-I'm Sheena. My ability is Touch Upgrade!"

Sheena broke the tense atmosphere and everyone looked at her. Philip widened his eyes and looked at her the moment she mentioned her ability

He needs to listen to her carefully if what he thinks about her ability is true

"Touch Upgrade allows me to transform and upgrade any kinds of machine into its absolute limit and potential without limitations and restriction"

Philip's eyes widened. It is as he expected her ability to be as. She is the one responsible for the cutting edge, high-tech vehicles at the front gate

If what Sheena said is true, then she might become one of the frontliners that will lesd the drastic development of the world, now that the Mysticism Age is also here

"Although, the upgraded form can only maintain itself for an hour. It will return to its original form after the time limit with the body being damaged or degraded"

Even so, her ability is still extremely useful and desirable in the world. Even if it had one flaw, Philip could think of millions of ways to use Sheena's ability

The only limit for her ability is the amount or maximum limit that she can upgrade. Whether if she can upgrade a simple machine into a futuristic or alien technology, or even divine or abysmal technology

"Can you demonstrate?"

Philip wanted to see how Sheena's ability works and confirm it. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and lent it to Sheena

Sheena stood and reached for the phone and simply tapped it with her finger. The phone faintly glowed and green lines flowed around the phone across the screen and the seams

Philip pulled the phone back and inspected the upgraded phone. His eyes glimmered from his upgraded phone. The phone already looked advanced and he never seen anything like it

The electronics changed as the materials and metal was upgraded, as well as the casing. The screen also changed into a higher quality of electronic glass. The battery became a reactor and the camera quality became 4M UHD. The camera can also capture molecular structures of materials that it can even capture the smallest particles floating in the air

The apps also became different. He could access the deep web and inspect the apps directly like a developer. The background is pitch black and line binary codes and ASCII were flying across the screen like cyberspace

Philip stared at his upgraded phone for a few seconds

"Amazing... You have a very impressive ability you have there"

Philip complimented Sheena, to which she slightly blushed and felt proud. Philip were the only ones who directly complimented her ability besides Mark, Tenshi, and Elaine

She can't consider Chris' compliment because it sounded like they only want to take advantage of her ability

"T-thank you..."

Meanwhile, Elaine noticed Sheena's behavior and smirked. She then spoke and told Philip her ability

"My ability is Radar Domain. I can expand a domain around myself that can detect and see everything around me. It can detect through walls, anything"

Elaine temporarily activated her ability to show the changes in her body. She looked at Philip to show that her eyes had turn relatively dark green

"Although, I can't scan the whole domain in one go, just like radar in military ships and submarines, a line will rotate around the domain and in that way, I can see who or what is in that location"

"I can also transform my domain into a cone shape to exploit the line. If I turned it into a cone, I can see everything without the line"

"Ah! So, you're like the back support of the squadron to detect whenever there's ambush and scouting"

"Exactly"

Philip was slightly impressed. With Elaine's ability being a part of the squadron, no wonder this group of people is elite and they work for the military

A true leader, a powerful fighter and vanguard, an angel, an amplifier buff, and a radar. The Los Angeles Squadron Division has everything to efficiently operate

Now that introduction of the squadron's abilities are over, Chris moved and spoke as he planned to end the meeting and give everyone a little bit of free time since it's almost lunch

"Alright--"

"Wait"

But he was cut off by Philip

"How about you, Chris? In the rolecall earlier, you said the you're the Squadron Master. Isn't your turn to tell your ability?"

Philip bravely asked and tried to learn the general of a military base's ability

In doing so, he earned Veronica's irk as she looked at him with very annoyed and irritated eyes from his back right. The squadron members were also surprised as they flinched. All of them made a cold sweat as they looked at Chris to see his reaction. None of them even knew Chris' ability and even them wants to know it

Veronica started to walk towards Philip but Chris stopped her as he raised his hand

"You don't need to know about it since I'm not coming with you in this mission"

"What?!"

Chris dropped a bombshell to everyone and they were shocked and confused

"I need to stay here to protect the base whenever an ambush or invasion happens when you're all there. You need to understand"

Chris tried to make an excuse, which is valid to everyone's point of view, but that's not why Philip wanted to know what ability he has

"I still need to know your ability even if you're not joining the expedition"

Philip wanted to say that knowing Chris' ability is a matter of life and death but he decided not to because it might arouse more suspicion on him

Chris then stood up and face Philip, who is still sitting down

"If I said no, that means no. Don't make me repeat myself again"

Philip then also stood up and faced Chris to show him that he wasn't being intimidated in the slightest

"Are you sure you don't want to tell me, even in private?"

Chris' face distorted from Philip being stubborn. This time, it was Veronica who walked forward and placed her left hand on Philip's shoulder

"Don't push your luck, outsider"

"You're seriously being stubborn?"

Chris and Veronica became angry at Philip for asking for information about his ability

"Alright, I won't ask anymore. Don't regret this later on, okay?"

Philip sat back down and crossed his arms. Chris, Veronica, and the squadron members became extremely confused from Philip's words

"Hey, what do you mean by that?!"

Chris grabbed Philip's collar and pulled him up. Philip did not expect Chris to become forceful. Chris released his overbearing dreadful aura once more and looked at Philip with killing intent

Philip's body was alarmed and his emotions swirled inside his mind. His overbearing aura was immediately released and negative emotions flooded the room

Everyone else felt heavy and the dense atmosphere. The strongest of them, Veronica and Mark, even felt being restrained. However, Justine and Tenshi could only frown

Philip's eyes became piercing and dilated as he looked at Chris' eyes. He lifted his right hand and held Chris' hand that was holding him

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Philip tried to warn Chris in a roundabout way

"What are you going to do, huh?"

Chris tried to call Philip's bluff

"A lot"

Philip's negative emotions and anger suddenly swelled up and flowed towards Chris. His vision became darker and darker until he could only see pitch black. Fear slowly overcame his mind

It was then that light returned to his eyes when his hand was removed from Philip's collar. Chris could see Justine standing behind Philip with her hair faintly glowing yellow

"That's enough"

Justine had her left hand above Philip's left shoulder as she tried to minimize the negative energy that Philip's emitting

"Order"

It was the same for Tenshi as she is standing with her right hand aiming at Philip. A ring of light behind her back and around her right wrist has formed

"Sensei, stop this"

Tenshi voice out towards Chris, who was mysteriously breathing heavily from nothing

Chris had an extremely confused look on his face, which are noticed by the rest of the squadron members. Mark became suspicion once again towards Philip

He questioned what Philip has done to make Chris panic and breathe heavily

A few moments later, Chris has collected himself and calmed down. He then returned back to his seat and sat down. He racked his brains as to what just happened and what Philip did to him

He thought that this is the reason as to why the Old Man was afraid of him. He was just confused as to why Philip is under his protection. Not to mention Tenshi, she seemed to have a sense of protection over Philip as the mysterious God of Light has also taken Philip under his protection

He put his knuckle on his mouth and coughed to call the attention of everyone

"Alright, that should conclude our meeting... For now. You're all allowed to leave. Mark, show Philip and Justine their quarters after your free time"

"Understood"

"But what about my punishment?"

Tenshi mockingly asked with innocence

"We'll handle that another time. Just... Don't reveal our secrets to anyone else, okay?"

"Understood, sensei"

"Dismissed"

All the squadron members simultaneously stood up and walked towards the door to exit the room

"Follow us"

Mark called out to Philip and Justine to guide them and have a tour. He still viewed Philip as a mysterious and suspicious individual

Surprisingly, Tenshi and Sheena waited for Mark and Philip. Celine and Elaine also waited for Tenshi and Sheena specifically because they should have exited the room by now. They were just confused as to why they would wait for Philip

As they walked out, Tenshi and Sheena walked in front of Philip while Justine is next to him. Mark lead the way and Celine and Elaine were following from the back

Elaine was reading everyone while Celine is nonchalantly walking with her hands behind her head

Meanwhile, inside the room, Chris slammed the table with his fist

"Damn that kid! What did he do to me? Did you notice it?"

Chris asked Veronica

"No. What happened?"

"He may have another ability that affects the mind of another person... He doesn't just have two or three abilities, he has four, or maybe even more!"

Veronica widened her eyes from Chris' hypothesis

"Are you sure about that?"

"There's no other explanation! I want all security and surveillance to observe and monitor him! I don't care if the Old Man finds out about this... I just need to know"

"Understood"

Veronica bowed and immediately picked up her phone. She called the command center to relay Chris' message

"Now, what do you mean by regret?"

Chris talked to himself while pondering about what Philip said to him
