Fate ~Luna~

There we stood in the courtyard when Demetri suddenly doubled over in pain. I didn't need to be an empath to tell that.

"Hey! Are you ok?" I asked sincerely.

When i touched his arm, and warm sensation speed from my hand to the rest of me, warming my whole body down to my core. Butterflies erupting in my belly.

Why did he make me feel this way?

I tried to shake the feeling, focusing on what had Demetri in distress.

Suddenly Demetri's gaze snapped up meeting mine. His eyes grew wide as if he just came to some kind of realization.

"Hey, Meteri," i started again moving my hand from his arm to shoulder, "you still with me?"

"Y-yeah," he stuttered out. He searches my face as if he was looking for something. Slowly standing up right composing himself he took half a step towards me.

"Are you sure your ok?" I asked again trying not to let the racing  feeling of my heart distract me. But why did i feel that way? I barley knew Demetri but i liked the feeling he gave me when he was around.

"Yeah, I'm good," he said again closing his eye raking his fingers threw his hair.

"Alight," we stood there a moment in silence until the doors to the courtyard burst open. There stood Demetri's friend, the one with sandy brown hair.

"There you two are." He started walked towards us. His backpack slung over his shoulder while carrying another in his hand. "D, you left your bag in the Caf." He said tossing Demetri the backpack in his hand with relative ease. A light green aura surrounding him, another wolf. Demetri gave him a death glare. "Did i interrupt something?" He asked.

But before either of us got to respond, the bell rang signaling the end of the lunch period. Just then doors of class rooms began to open and student begin to pour out.

"Hey Demetri, i have to go" i started stating the obvious. I turned to walk towards my next class when i felt i hand lightly graze my wrist causing me to turn back around.

"Can i have you number?" He asked with a soft smile never breaking eye contact with me. I felt my heart rate increase and I'm sure he could feel my pulse in my wrist because he licked his lips again and smiled.

I stole a quick glance at his lips trying to control my breathing. I reached in my back packed and handed him my phone.

"only if i can have yours first." I said trying to play cool. He chuckled taking the phone pressing the keys, then he waited a moment and a second later there was ringing.

Demetri casually pulled his phone from his pocket never breaking eye contact with me and rejected the call.

"There, I'll text you later" he said smoothly handing my phone back to me.

I slipped my phone back in my pocket and smiled at him in awe."I'll see you around...Wolf."

"Indeed, bruja" he responded, emphasizing bruja.

I giggled rolling my eyes at him getting ready to step by him, but before i could get passed him he gently grabbed my arm once more. I turned my attention to look up at him, considering he was at least a foot taller then me. "Yes?" I said raising a brow at him.

Just then the leaned down until he was at my ear, so only i could hear him. "Do you believe in fate, little bruja?"

My heart rate began to fly now. I thought it was going to pop.

"I don't know what you mean." I said trying to calm myself.

     " i think you do."

——

I sat at the dining room table after school going through my families book of cantos. Not really paying attention, i was looking for a canto to locate my familiar. Sighing, i lazily flipped through the massive book glancing half heartedly at the pages.

"Who is he?" I heard my uncles voice. I looked up from the book quickly. He was leaning on the door frame.

"Who?" I said trying to furrow my brow and look confused.

"Yeah yeah try that look on someone else sis, who. Is. He?" He asked again this time emphasizing each word.

I rolled my eyes and huffed i loved my Tìo but the man could be...what's the word? Oh yeah, NOSEY! "It's no one Tìo."

"Oh yeah" My uncle began walking across the room sitting in the chair next to me and crossing his legs and arms simultaneously. "Then why are you looking in sacrifices when you should be under callings?"

I looked at the page i was on in the book, Sacrificing and shadow work scrawled across the top of the page. I blew air again throwing a stray hair from my face. "Demetri Russo" i mumbled.

"Ooooo Italian, me gusto." My uncle said leaning back casually in his chair.

"Dont Tìo," i began dropping my head into my hands. "I do not wanna do this, especially with you."

"And why not?" He said faking offense, He knew damn well why.

I leaned back and crossed my own arms across my chest, and glare him straight in the eye. His face cracks a grin and he rolled his eyes in defeat.

"Fine, but if your looking to call you familiar you might wanna look in the front of that book" he said waving his hand at the book. A small breeze flicked at the pages causing me to lift my hands letting the pages fly. They suddenly stop, i look over to see what the words say. Slowly the words begin to appear. There was a canto on the book, making it seem blank until slowly revealing its self only to a member of our blood line. Summonings.

Please take of these words

This blood and this call

I call to the skies

And the earth and seas beneath

Mother moon please take head

And lead me to the one i seek

Not master nor servant

But forever tied and fated,

familiars

"Ok, how do i do this?" I asked, looking up to my uncle raising a brow.

His gaze turned to the window, i followed it seeing the forest behind our home. There wasn't an explanation necessary. I quickly jotted down all the information i needed for the canto. I stood to my feet and started rummaging around the kitchen for supplies. A sacred candle, cloth, bowl and knife.

I put everything in a backpack and started to head to the back door.

"Oh and Luna," i heard my uncle start. I stopped in my tracks and glanced back over my shoulder at him. "If your familiar does come to you, you should bring them to your blessing ceremony."

I nodded slightly reaching for the back door handle. "I'll see you at the circle." I said walking out into the sunset.
