Chapter 139

"Lydia? Do you mean the Lydia here is your child? "I asked.

"Yes, she’s my daughter," she said, with tears rolling down her cheeks again.

I was on my way to my first clue in order to find out where Ellie’s dad was when my phone began to vibrate in my pocket. I didn’t want to pick it up, but I thought what if it was an emergency?

I stopped to reach out for my phone in my combat trousers pocket. I brought it out. The call turned out to be from Fiona. Does she have the dagger already? I haven’t even started to look for the spell book yet. I swiped on the green button to pick up the call.

"Hey Fiona," I called out.

"Hey Adam," she replied.

"How is it going over there?" she asked.

I said, "Still working on it, but very soon I should be able to get it," while I kept on walking through the woods following the clue leading to Ellie’s daddy.

"Okay, I’m going to be expecting it very soon," she said.

"Yeah, what about yours? Have you also started working on it?" I asked.

When I started to work on getting it, I was able to learn more about what was going on in the inner circle, she said.

I became very interested in hearing what she had to say, so I didn’t mind staying close to a tree to hear what secrets she had learnt from the inner circle.

"What did you learn from the inner circle?" I asked.

Don’t think I'm a fool that will feed you all that I know. I just don’t know why I’m even telling you at first. I should have been watching out for the outcome of their plan," she said, replying to me.

I wasn’t going to beg her even though, the hint she as given me should be enough for me to know Robert is planning to attack me, then will just have to get ready before it is going to happen.

"Telling me would make me know you really want to get the dagger for me, which also make me to able to head over the spell book to you," I said trying to put her on a hot sit since she wants the spell book badly, I should be able to use that to make her talk, and I hopes it works.

"Okay fine, I’m going to ask you a question first," she said.

"Go on and ask me the question," I said.

"How much do you trust Nicholas, and do you know him every well," she asked.

"I don’t trust Nicholas, and I don’t even trust anybody, and I only know a little bit about him," I answered.

"With what I heard about the two brothers, that is, Alaric and Nicholas, Alaric is unpredictable to everyone but not Nicholas, Nicholas always know what Alaric can do when he is after someone," she revealed.

I don’t know why all what Fiona was saying was making a lot of sense to me, I wanted to hear more from her.

"Wait are you trying to say Nicholas knows when Alaric will show up and how he will do that," I asked.
