Remy-(Part 2)

The next morning, the family is up enjoying breakfast. Gileani's in the kitchen making the children's plates, Cameron and Penny are sitting at the table. Penny is talking Cameron's ears off as always, and Q is reading a book. Remy comes downstairs, and sits at the table with the others. He specifically sits next to Q and stares at him, much to Q's knowledge. Remy observed how Q spoke to Cameron and Penny. Remy finds himself lost in thought, until Q taps his shoulder.

"So, Remy...do you have siblings?" Q asks gently.

"Oh...uhm, yes...I have a sister...well..I HAD a sister...." Remy says quietly.

"Oh....I'm sorry to hear that..."

"It's fine...she's in a better place now..."

"And your father?...What about him?"

"Well...that's not my real father....I don't know my REAL father..."

"You don't know your real father?" Gileani asks from the kitchen.

"Sadly no...That man who's currently being questioned is my foster father...which kind of stinks....it seems that I always get stuck with nutjobs...."

"That's...I'm so sorry...Don't worry though...We'll be your parents for the few days you're with us..." Gileani says in a comforting tone.

"That sounds nice...it seems That You and Mr.Q are better parents than my parents ever were...." Remy says with a slight smile.

"You don't have to stay with him...." Q says. "You could just ask to live by yourself, I'm sure the C.I.A could find a way to support your needs...sounds like a better alternative than living with a criminal I'd say."

Remy smiles once more. "You do have a point."Penny and Cameron stare at him wide eyed before turning to each other.

"Dude, did he just smile?" Penny whispers.

"I think...no, I know...He just did! Twice!" Cameron says back to Penny.

"Would you like some breakfast? I made plenty for everyone...." Gileani ask.

"Sure....why not?" Remy responds as Gileani begins making him a plate.

"Alright guys, I have a plan for today....Q you're going to keep Remy some company and I'll take myself, Cameron, and Penny to the park...are you alright with that?" Gileani says cheerfully.

"YAY! THE PARK!" Cameron and Penny shout in unison as they high five each other.

"Sure...." Q says, still deep in his book. "Remy, is there anything you like to do in particular?"

"Not really...I'll just follow you around if that's okay..." Remy responds.

"That's fine...I don't go many places...just a few stores and that's it..."

"Great...what time will we be leaving?"

"Noon..."

"Alright, see you then." Remy says before heading back to the spare bedroom. Q looks at Gileani as Cameron and Penny put their jackets on and head to the front door.

"You two have fun...." Gileani says before opening the front door and ushering the kids outside and exiting afterwards. Q sits and reads his book whilst quietly humming a hymn to himself, making sure to keep an eye on the time. A few hours later, Remy overhears Q still humming to himself and walks downstairs to approach him.

"You like hymns?" Remy says to Q.

"Mm-Hm...they bring me peace, you know?" Q says as he closes his book. "So I hum them when I can..."

"I see...they did sound beautiful...I've never heard them before...you'd have to teach me some of the hymns you know..."

"I don't mind doing that...In fact....Here." Q says as he reaches for the shelf and pulls out a red book and hands it to Remy. It was a book full of hymns. "I have more than one copy of that one because my family loves this particular volume, so that can be yours to keep if you want it...."

"Oh...thank you...That's really kind of you." Remy says as he observes the book closely. He opens it to see Q's name on the first page. Remy smiles slightly at the kind gesture.

"Don't mention it....Anyway, I need to run to the store for a few things, you wanna come with me? You don't have to..."

"Sure..."

"Alright, now that that's settled, let me get my car keys, and we'll be out of here shortly, okay?"

"Okay..." Remy says as he sits on the couch waiting for Q.

Meanwhile, Gileani was at the park watching Cameron and Penny poke an anthill with a stick.

"That's dangerous guys....I wouldn't do that..." Gileani warns

"Mom, we'll be fine...these ants are too tiny to- OW!" Cameron brags before getting bit by an ant. Penny laughs at him.

"See? What did I tell you? Don't mess with ants!" Gileani says.

"Okay, okay...we'll poke the beetles..." Cameron says as he pulls Penny towards another part of the park.

Gileani sighs, confused as to how children keep themselves entertained.

Now, At this time. Q and Remy were at the grocery store together. Q was looking over a list he wrote, and grabbing items that he needed before crossing it off the list.

"Alright Remy, hand me that over there..." Q said as he pointed to the bread, whilst reaching for the apple juice, Remy listened without saying anything and handed Q the bread.

"Thank you...." Q said quietly as he crossed another item off of his list. "Whoever invented the idea of a 'grocery list' needs to win the Mobel Peace Prize...very genius idea..."

Remy chuckles at Q's joke. Q walks to another isle in the store, Remy following close behind him.

"Tell me, Mister Q...what is it like...being a husband...and a father?...A true, caring husband and father...." Remy says

"Hm?....Well, when I first became a husband and a father....those were the best things that ever happened to me. As soon as I got married, and had children of my own...I wanted nothing more at that moment than to love and protect them. Before I even met my wife, I had nothing to live for....now, I do. And when it comes down to protecting my family...I'd do anything for them...." Q responds.

"I see....so you're family is your top priority?"

"Yes...that's what a father and a husband are supposed to prioritize and provide for. That's why I do the things I do...that's why I work...I work to provide and make sure my children are well cared for...."

"I see....Mr. Q, I must say....I would like to live to be like you...you have everything all figured out for your life...I want that..."

Remy smiles as he follows Q to the cash register. Q pays for the groceries and heads back home with Remy.

Late that day, once they were home, the two put up the groceries and Q sat back on the couch and got back to reading. The two soon hear knocking at the door. Q opens the door to see Kenneth.

"Kenneth, what's up?" Q says as he gives his friend a pat on the shoulder.

"Q, well...turns out the man was guilty for the crimes, so he'll be going away for a long while." Kenneth says.

"Oh, well that's good..."

"I was here to ask Remy about his living situation...we can send you to a foster home for a bit...or you can have us cover housing and stay in a small apartment for the time being. We already have the searching and whatnot covered."

"Like you mean....live by myself?" Remy asks.

"Yeah..." Kenneth responds.

"I'd rather do that...it's better by myself than with another nutjob." Remy says.

"Amen to that....Okay, so it's settled. Go ahead grab your things..."

"Okay.." Remy says as he makes his way upstairs to grab his things. Kenneth looks at Q and smiles.

"Thanks again for taking him in for a day..." Kenneth says.

"I'm just glad the boy's deciding to stay by himself....he's a smart, kind kid who doesn't need the hindrance of bad guardians to hold him back. Who knows...we may meet again in the future..."

"Yeah.." Kenneth says as Remy comes downstairs.

"Thanks Mister Q..." Remy says as he follows Kenneth out the door.

"Don't mention it...hey here take this..." Q says as he hands Remy a piece of paper. "It's my phone number.....if you need anything at all, don't be afraid to contact me."

"Okay..." Remy says as he leaves.

Kenneth waves, "See you in the morning, Q?"

"Yeah..." Q responds.

Kenneth then closes the door behind him. Q sits back on his couch and reads his book whilst he waits for Gileani and the kids to return. Q thought to himself, thinking about Remy. He was glad that Remy was able to get out of these crazy households and think for himself, that made Q happy deep down. He continued to read, oblivious to the set of bright yellow eyes watching inside through his window.
