CHAPTER 4: THE FIRST!

THE FALLEN ANGEL

Little Kabbus had no idea what was going on with his body. He felt thirsty all of a sudden and a part of him was drawing him close to the patient they just brought in.

"Something is wrong. Something is really wrong. What is wrong with me?" He was scared and confused. This wasn't his plan at all, this wasn't what he wanted. How could he get attracted to an injured person?

"Am I about to eat someone up because I'm hungry? What kind of monster am I, then?" Little Kabbus cried inwardly.

He forced himself up the bed and sat down on the edge. Staring at the patient was making it harder for him so to prevent that, he decided to look away but his eyes would keep wandering to the patient's side at times.

It was frustrating, he hated it and he thought of leaving the room so he could sort out his thoughts but that was when someone spoke up...

"Wait for me here, I'm coming." The person who came with the patient said. He seemed to be leaving the room!

"Really? Don't stay long. The doctor should be here soon." The patient replied and Kabbus shook his head, panicking. "This isn't right..."

"Don't leave, please. Just stay behind like this and watch me leave the room first. I don't know... I really don't know what will happen if I'm left alone with her." He cried inwardly but he found it hard to say it out.

One part of him wanted the person to stay with the patient but another part of him wanted the person to leave so he was confused. He was torn between what to wish for and what not to wish for and before he could decide, he saw the person open the door and leave the room, leaving him alone with the patient!

Immediately, his stomach churned loudly and he groaned in pain. The hunger pang was greatly affecting him, threatening to help him lose his mind... He was confused.

"Are you hungry?" The patient asked gently. She was a young girl too, probably older than the human Kabbus but she was still a student as she was dressed in a uniform.

Kabbus quickly looked away, trying his best not to look at her. "I'm okay. I will go out to get something to eat." He simply replied as he tried to stand up.

"Get something to eat without your parents? I'm sure they won't be happy if they get here and don't see you here. What about this?" She stopped as she started searching her bag and she brought out a bread. "Eat this. I have more with me. My mother prepared it for me this morning so it's still very fresh and good." She suggested, stretching the big bread to Kabbus with a gentle smile on her face.

Kabbus bit his lower lip as he thought of how to turn the girl down. He couldn't trust himself if he got closer to her and he wanted to avoid trouble at all cost but when he looked at the girl's face, it was obvious she wouldn't be taking NO as an answer and that made him want to knock her head in for being so stubborn ~

"Ain't you scared of me? I'm a stranger or didn't your parents tell you to be wary of strangers?" Kabbus asked, hoping that would discourage the girl from wanting to talk to him. Getting disrespected by a stranger was a big turn off, right?

The girl chuckled, it was obvious she was in pain but she was still smiling through the pain. "How old are you?"

The question sounded odd to Kabbus but he shrugged and crossed his arm "If you're asking for my true age, I should be 210 this year but right now, I'm 10 years old." He replied.

The girl laughed again. She looked at him and shook his head "I'm Tiana, 15 years old this year, which means that I'm 5 years older than you so I'm your big sis." The girl replied before stretching forward the bread again. "Take this now before I change my mind."

Kabbus was about to reply when his stomach churned again and he frowned "Maybe what I want is just the bread she is holding. I should collect it." He said to himself, comforting himself as he set out to walk toward her.

He reached the girl's bed and stretched his hand to collect the bed but that was all he remembered. The next thing he did was grab the girl's hand, he pulled her up the bed and grabbed her head, without warning, Little Kabbus dug his already elongated teeth into the vein of her neck and drew out blood!

His inside was burning with each blood that entered his body but the hunger in his stomach kept pushing him to drink more. Little Kabbus shook his head, he rolled his eyes, he tried to clench his fist as he tried his best to stop sucking Tiana's blood but no matter how hard he tried, it just wasn't working... It was like something had taken over him completely.

What was more shocking was the fact that Tiana wasn't making a single sound, she had her eyes closed as she waited for Kabbus to suck as much as he wanted and just when she thought he was done, he started sucking again.

Little Kabbus sucked Tiana's blood for a while until his hunger was satisfied and just then was he able to stop sucking.

(Congratulations, You are now a halfling. A newborn vampire.)

Kabbus shook his head, he staggered back as he was in disbelief. He looked at his hands and shook his head again. Opening his mouth, he wanted to say something but the door cracked right then and when he turned his head, he saw a pale young boy staring at him with horror in his eyes.

"Monster!" The boy screamed.
