Chapter 4: Faithful

Alecia and Booker are still within the restaurant. The small group of people stands up, amd walks their way to the exit.

Alecia chuckles, and picks up the glass.

"True." She said with a slight smile, and takes a sip while looking at him.

Booker smiles slightly with a small chuckle and stares blankly at his glass for a moment.

Alecia stops smiling. Her eyes staring at him with a gentle gaze.

"Booker?" She said, her voice sounding calm and peaceful. He responds by looking at her.

"What's the matter?"

"My sister..." he said, with a neutral expression on his face.

"I'm worried, I can't stop thinking about her." He looks at the glass with the green liquid.

She sighs with a downcast look.

"How old is she?" She said with a gentle tone in her voice.

"I forgot to ask."

"Oh..." he said looking at her once more.

"She's much younger than me. She's fifteen."

"Fifteen hey." She said picking up the glass and holds it.

"It's strange how someone as young as her can get that sick." She takes a sip from the glass while keeping her gaze on the table.

"What are the symptoms?" She said, looking at him after sipping from the glass.

Booker gulps the last of his drink and stares blankly at the table for a moment.

"I remember, after she came back from a school-trip. She started coughing. At first I thought it was nothing, until she showed me her arm." He places the glass on the table and looks at Alecia with a gaze.

"Alecia, the vains on her arm were red and inflamed. So that's when I knew, she got infected from a scratch or cut."

"So you decided to ask for my help?" She said, with a calm gaze.

"I tried everything that I could, but no one could help her." He said, gazing at the table with a troubling look

"You are her last hope..." He looks at her once more, only to catch her eyes looking straight into his with a compassionate gaze.

Alecia stares at him for a moment, only to gently look at the smooth table, and flickers her eyes in thought.

She looks at him once more.

"How long has she been sick?"

"For about six, or seven days." He said looking at his empty glass which still has a tiny bit left.

"I hope we'll make it in time."

"She's that bad hey?" She said, with her face beginning to show concern.

"The last time I saw her." He said, bringing his hands on the table, and stares at his palms.

"Her skin was pale, and almost bluish. If you know what I mean?"

Alecia widens her eyes, and locks her eyes on one of the waiters walking through the restaurant.

She turns her gaze back to Booker

"Then we shouldn't waste time then." She said, taking the glass and finishes her drink.

"Hello again..." the waitress said standing beside them.

"So, are you going to place an order now?" She flickers her eyes between the two, still with a cheerful smile on her face.

"Yes, we are." Booker said with a cheerful tone, and takes the menus from her and hands one to Alecia.

"Anything else?" She said.

"Yes." He said, opening the first page of the menu.

"Can we have two more green orbits please."

"Alright." She said, turning away.

"Wait." Booker said with a chuckle, which urges the waitress to turn to his attention.

"And two of these Meaty-Sandwiches please." He points on the one page.

"Excellent." She said, typing on her device.

"I'll get on it." She takes the two menus, and the two glasses from them only to walk away once more.

"You just made things easier for me." Alecia said, looking at Booker with a slight smile.

"Oh?" Booker said, with a slight frown.

"How so?"

"It would have taken me forever to pick." She said, moving strands of hair around her ear.

"They all look good, don't they?" He said, leaning forward with his arms crossed on the table.

"Quite the opposite, actually," Alecia said.

"I wouldn't know which one would be nice, I didn't want to have myself regretting what I choose if I picked the wrong thing."

"I'm the same way." He said, with a chuckle.

"That's why I pick whatever is on special, they're usually the ones that are good."

"I'll take your word for it then." Alecia said and smiles slightly, only for her eyes to flick beside booker and notices the same waitress walking towards the table with the drinks on the tray.

"Looks like our drinks are already here." Booker looks over his shoulder, and looks ahead of himself once more.

"Here you go, miss." The waitresses said, placing the glass on the table in front of Alecia.

"Here you are, sir." She places the other glass near him, and looks at Alecia for a moment, long enough for her to notice.

"What?" Alecia said, with a suspicious look on her face.

"Sorry," the waitress said, shaking her head, and narrows her eyes.

"Just that, I love the color of your hair. How did you get your hair white like that, what dye did you use?"

"My hair?" Alecia said, rubbing the top of her own head.

"A lot of time went into it." She averts her eyes.

"So you did it yourself?" She said, holding her device with two hands.

"You can say that, yes." Alecia said, with a nodful smile.

The waitress chuckles and holds her device beside herself.

"Well, it's been a pleasure serving you two." She flickers her eyes between Alecia, and Booker.

"Enjoy your Green-Orbits." She walks her way towards the wall where the kitchen is.

Alecia wraps her hand around the drink and picks it up. She stares at it for a brief moment, only to bring the glass closer to her lips.

"Looks like your hair gets people to ask questions, doesn't it." Booker said, with a slight smile. He picks up his drink, and takes a sip.

Alecia looks at him, and chuckles with a smile as she takes a sip from her own glass.

"Yes," she said, placing it on the table.

"Yes, it does." She stares at the glass with a blank look in her eyes.

"Quite a few people has asked about my hair. I'm beginning to think that I should dye it to its original color, because it gets tiring every time I have to talk about it."

"I don't see a need to." Booker said, and takes a sip from his glass once more.

"I think you're right." She said, with a relaxed tone. She fixes her gaze at the waitress walking towards them once more, this time with a plate in each hand.

"Here you go." The waitress said placing tge one plate in front of Alecia, and then places the other in front of Booker.

"Enjoy." She said in a cheerful tone and walks away once again.

"Wow, this sandwich smells delicious." Booker said, picking it up with two hands, he looks ahead at Alecia, only to see her head slightly lowered with her eyes gently closed. Booker closes his mouth, and looks at his sandwich. He places the sandwich on the plate once more as he stares at her in fascination.

Alecia opens her eyes, and looks ahead to see him staring at her.

"What's wrong?" She said, with a concerned look.

"No, nothing." He said shaking his head, and picks up his sandwich once more.

"I was just wondering what you were doing."

"Oh, I was just giving thanks in prayer." She said in a gentle tone with a smile.

"Really?" He said, with his eyebrows slightly raised.

"Wow that's interesting, and slightly weird." He takes a bite from his sandwich, and chews it.

"Why would it be weird?" Alecia said with a narrowed look in her eyes.

Booker continues to chew until he eventually swallows.

"To pray for your food, but the cook was the one who prepared it." He said, and takes another bite from his sandwich.

"I just so it." Alecia said, shaking her head.

Booker, looks down with his eyes flickering.

"Wow," he said looking up at her with an intrigued look in his eyes.

"That's a simple answer." He now sighs with a downcast gaze, and looks st her.

"I apologize for coming off as rude."

"It's alright." She said, looking at her sandwich, and picks it up with both hsnds, only to stare at it for a moment.

"You were only curious." She now takes a bite from the sandwich, only for her eyes to widen as she chews.

"It's delicious, hey?" Booker said with a smile.

Alecia nods with a smile, while she continues to chew.

A few moments go by...

"That was very nice," Alecia said, placing the serviette on the plate.

"Thank you, Booker."

"It has been my privilege." He said with his arms crossed while he is leaning back against the chair.

"Hello, again." The waitress said, stopping next to the table.

"Can I take your plates?" She gestures out her hand.

"Sure." Booker said, handing the plate to her

The waitress takes the plate from Alecia.

"Thank you." Alecia said with a cheerful look on her face.

The waitress walks away once more.

"Shall we go then?" He said placing money on the table.

"Okay." Alecia said with a nod, and stands up with Booker, and walks with him towards the entrance.

"So, are you still angry at me for what happened earlier?" Booker said, looking ahead with a calm expression.

"Not really." Alecia said, with her gaze drawn to the one waiter who's carrying two big plates of food.

"Still," she looks ahead of herself.

"You shouldn't have impersonated a priest, you could have asked for my help a normal way, you know?"

She gives a downcast look as she exits the restaurant with him.

"But, I already knew, I wasn't fit to be Angelica's servent." She looks ahead.

"I'm still trying."

"Then you must stop trying." Booker said, looking at her, which urges her to turn to his attention.

"If that's what keeps you going, then don't stop," he looks ahead of himself once more as he draws near his ship.

"That's what my father said to me when I was little."

"He sounds like a good man." She said walking towards the door of the ship, and waits for Booker.

"He has his moments." Booker said, smiling and opens the door of the ship, and climbs in, followed by Alecia climbing in as well.

"Okay, let's not waste anymore time." He flicks a few switches and presses the one button, which powers up the engines once more.

"Of course." Alecia said adjusting herself in the chair.

The ship levitate off the ground and continues to ascend, only for it to accelerate forward and flies off.

Alecia looks out the window beside herself, and watches the restaurant shrink in the distance. She looks ahead once more, and gently fokds her arms.

"How long would it take to get to Senterai at this speed?" She said, looking at him with a calm look on her face.

"Hmmm..." Booker silences for a moment.

"Two hours." He said looking at her for a moment, and turns his gaze ahead once more.

"Oh?" Alecia said, with a frown.

"That's not so bad." She looks ahead of herself.

"It is, considering the stakes at hand." He said with a calm collected tone.

Alecia looks at him

"You've got a point." She said looking ahead.

"I wish that wasn't the case." He said in a neutral tone. His facial expression becomes vague of emotion as he stares ahead while he keeps the control wheel steady.

"Let's play some more music." He said, pressing the button on the console, and starts tapping on the control wheel as the first song begins to play.

Alecia gazes at him for a moment, until a faint smile begins to crack, only for her to look ahead of herself once more.
