The Fallen Throne 5

Nice." you commented with a grin, eyes lingering on her decently bountiful chest, and round ass.

So when the vulcan's ran out of magic energy, the strongest being composing the take over naturally was the one to gain complete control. In this case, the mage, since the wyvern you hit was already on deaths door, and of limited intelligence.

Things usually came down to a mental and magical battle in a take over. "Well, consider yourself lucky," you said, bending down to pick the girl up, "You just got the power of a wyvern and a bunch of vulcan's added to your own, your power's probably tripled if not more at this point."

Honestly, vulcan's were how a lot of people became mages in the first place. They took over normal humans, eventually lost all their energy and left the human with a pitiful amount of magical energy and a pitifully small ethernano container. Which they could then train up from scratch.

Was a very dangerous thing to attempt though. Because the longer you stayed taken over, the more your mental state deteriorated. This chick should be fine though, according to the request she'd only been taken over for a bit over a day or so.

Probably a local mage that came to deal with some rowdy vulcan's and got taken by surprise and taken over. Or overwhelmed by numbers. Despite their pitiful magic reserves, usually measuring in at the ten to twenty marks, they were a species blessed with a lot of natural brute strength and agility.

Basically just a big monkey at the end of the day though.

When you stepped up out of the crater, Max was already there at the edge waiting for you, a hand on his head as he shook it, "You really are like Natsu and the others," he moaned, "I'm so glad this wasn't in to-"

Max cut himself off as he looked at the girl in your arms and his eyes widened, "Mattan Ginger?" he gasped.

You blinked, "You know this girl?" you asked, walking onwards, him falling in step with you.

"Yeah man, she was going to join us at one point," Max replied, "But since we fell on hard times for the last few years, she joined Twilight Ogre, the new main guild of Magnolia so she could make enough money to get by."

Huh, well alright then.

"She's pretty much their ace these days," Max continued and you had to stop yourself from gaping. This girl was the ace of the main guild of Magnolia, but, she couldn't even measure up to Max himself in raw power! And considering she would have been a third of her new strength at best, yet was still one of the aces of the guild said a lot for how weak it was. "Maybe that annoying fat ass will get off our cases about the debt for a while?"

Debt? you shook your head, and looked to Max, "You're stronger than her even with being boosted thanks to that Vulcan," you pointed out, "Heck, everyone in the guild I saw has more power than she would have had, how the heck are you not still the top guild in Magnolia?" you near demanded.

Simple crushed spirit and man power couldn't be the answer could it?

Max shrugged, giving you a small, almost sad smile, "We ain't as motivated these days," he replied, "And yeah we're stronger on average by a decent margin, but we're a small guild now, we have less than twenty members, and Twilight Ogre has hundreds, with even the scrubby mooks armed with C-rank tier magic weapons."

..Oh. Still, you're pretty sure you could crush a guild like that by yourself. It just didn't sit right with you, to play second fiddle to a group that damn weak.

"Here's something I don't get," you continued to grill Max as you both entered back into the town, "Why couldn't you just beat down those wyvern's? You've got the power for it."

"You're kidding right?" Max laughed, "You don't just hunt wyvern's, their scales are dense as hell and resist most magic, I use plain old sand magic buddy, versatile, and I could probably crush one to death with a good deal one effort, but it's not something that lends itself to sheer raw power like you slayers."

People stopped to point and whisper at you carrying the scantily clad girl in your arms bridal style. Probably damaging for her reputation to be honest, but you weren't here to cater to that.

"I suppose," you replied with a light shrug, "Still doesn't really sit well with me though." you admitted.

"You'll probably get along well with Romeo then," he sandy haired man laughed, "Truth is, we were beaten the moment we lost our strongest members. We fell behind, couldn't make enough money, and no offense, you're strong as hell, stronger than even Natsu probably was by a decent margin, but you're not Gildarts, from what I remember, not even a fifth of him."

He turned to you, losing the smile on his face, "And you'd need to have that kind of power to singe handedly pull the guild up and fix our spirits," he shrugged, "Don't take it personally or anything, if you aren't even a fifth of him, I'm not even a tenth."

Gildarts, huh? The ace of Fairy Tail before Acnologia came knocking. Once the possible strongest mage in all of Fiore. People whispered constantly about how he was even stronger than God Serena. He'd been long gone before the magic measuring tool was created, but people estimated he had to be at least around the twenty thousand mark, but probably a good deal higher.

"Yeah, I've got nothing on Gildarts," you agreed, and Max smiled sympathetically, before his mouth gaped open in shock at your follow up statement, "Not yet I'm not at least, gimme a few months though, and I'll get to a point where I could give him a decent run for his money." you promised.

The Rune Knight's were great for physical training, and weapon training. But they sucked when it came to training magic users. It was a big conspiracy honestly that the Magic Council didn't trust anyone with a lot magical power, even their guards.

Your body is ready. Now that you've joined Fairy Tail, you can see about learning more ways to increase your magic power besides the tried and true method of just emptying your ethernano container constantly and growing it bit by bit.

"I think you broke him," a chirpy voice by your chest piped up, and you looked down to find purple eyes staring up at you, "Still, Fairy Tail has a new member huh? And a strong one at that." Mattan Ginger commented, her head pressed against your chest, and you could feel a bit of her magical energy ripple across your skin, gauging some of the depths of your power with her own.

"Man, even the boss at Twilight Ogre would get flattened by you, wouldn't he?" she giggled.

"Yep." you answered casually, no use denying the truth after all. You lowered her to the ground and the older girl stepped onto her feet and began stretching out.

"Man I feel great!" she beamed, flexing her hands, "My power's massive compared to what it was before! How the heck did that vulcan get so much power? It wouldn't have even been half this strong when I take into account how much energy it had before it absorbed me and its own."

"I smacked a pair of wyvern around and it grabbed one after I knocked it out." you shrugged, answering again.

"It took you less than a minute to bring the pair of them down," Max pointed out, coming out of his shock, "Man you're exhausting to deal with. I thought I'd left playing the straight man role behind when the others disappeared."

"Boss man's totally not gonna be happy about this," Mattan sighed, before perking up and shrugging, "Oh well, not my problem!"

She leaned forward, till the point where she was nearly touching her nose to yours, "What's your name cutie?" she asked, "I'd like to get the name of my gallant hero if you don't mind."

"Cobalt Ray." you replied simply.

"I'll remember it," Mattan nodded, and then leaned forward a bit more to press a chaste little kiss on the side of your lips and pull back, giving you a wink, "Let's go on a mission together sometime, just you and me." she purred, and then turned on her heel, walking away, scantily clad hips swaying from left to right, your eyes following her bodacious rear end.

"Nicely done," Max patted you on the shoulder, before slumping over, "Man, and you're a lady killer too by the looks of it. It's like some unholy combination of Natsu, Gray and Loke."

Man, Max's emotions flipped and bounced around more than a pregnant woman's. "Is it fine to let her go?" you decided on asking instead of pointing that out.

"It's fine," he waved off, standing up fully, "The mission slips generally record if we do the job or not, otherwise we need to bring proof, which you did with the wyvern heads, and Mattan will probably confirm it herself."

Max patted you on the shoulder, and began walking, "Let's head to the bounty station and get your pay." the sandy haired man said.

..Well alright then. You followed the sand magic user.

It didn't take you long to reach the bounty station, and there were no problems picking up your reward thankfully.

After picking up the money, you and Max made your way back to the guild. "So how'd he do?" Wakaba asked the second you both entered.

"He crushed em," Max shrugged, making his way over to sit down at the bar, gaining the attention of the only other person in the hall right now, Kinana, "It wasn't even a contest, he smacked both wyvern's down like they were pidgeons and even when the King Vulcan took over one of the ones he brought down, he took it down with one hit as well."

"Jeez," Wakaba shook his head, looking you over, "So what are we looking at here? A Natsu?"

Max shrugged, "It's been a long while since I felt Natsu's power, but," the sandy haired man began, "I'm fairly certain he's a decent margin stronger than even Natsu was, he definitely has the raw power of an S-class mage if nothing else."

"Really?" Kinana blinked, beaming at you brightly, "I know you said you were a god slayer, but I wasn't expecting you to be even stronger than Natsu."

"Eh, power wise sure," you shrugged, "But skill wise? Not so much. I've not had much formal training in magic, besides some basics, mine is all self taught, I figured you guys would probably be able to give me some better advice for training with my magic than anything I learned at the Rune Knight's."

"Oh, that makes sense," the blue haired barmaid blinked, tapping her chin with one dainty index finger, "The knights aren't known for their magical abilities after all."

That was sugarcoating it. Literally the only five magic styles they teach in the Rune Knight's was Transformation, Requip, Telekinesis, Barrier and magic item controlling.

And only at the basic stages, you were expected to advance further through self training and study. Honestly, the most novel concept they had was multiple people using Barrier magic to imprison captured criminals.

"Well we can talk about it later," you continued, looking around the guild, "Where's the master at?" you asked.

"Oh him?" Wakaba pufffed out a cloud of smoke, raising his arm up and jabbing his thumb at the doorway beside the bar, "He's down the hall through there, in his office. I think he's having some kind of fusion between an excitement and panic attack since you joined."

"Right, I need to drop off money from the mission then." you replied with a nod, making your way through the door and into a narrow hallway with multiple doors. One said infirmary, one was a guest room, one was a bathroom, another was a closet, and finally at the end of the hall there was a fifth door leading to the master's office.

"Kids really gung go huh?" you heard Wakaba grunt, "Two A-rank's right off the bat? It's not something any of us could do."

"I think it's cute how enthusiastic he is." you heard Kinana giggle, just as you rapped on the door to the office with your knuckles.

"Come in." you heard Macao say, and let yourself in. You found the blue haired man sitting behind a rather small desk, in a bit of a cramped room with a bunch of filing cabinets taking up most of the space in the room.

There was a silly smile on the man's face, "Oh Cobalt," he blinked, "That was fast, did you already finish both the missions?" he asked, and you noted his eyes looked at you almost imploringly. As if begging in a way, that you weren't all talk.

You raised your hand into the air, and the space warped around your hand, cash notes phasing into reality, from where they were kept in your Requip pocket dimension, "Yep, easy as breathing master," you replied, slapping the stack of notes down on the desk, "I'll probably finish up the other two tomorrow, as it is I still need to try and find an apartment for the night and it's already getting late."

The silly smile on his practically exploded outwards, taking up the entirety of the older mans face, "Fantastic!" Macao beamed, "You know I actually know the landlord of an apartment complex with openings."

..Well that simplified things. "Can you point me their way?" you asked.

"Will do kid," Macao nodded, he reached forward and began picking up the money, but he paused as he counted it all, "This is 480,000 jewel Cobalt, that's at least three times more than your required to give up as a guild mage from your reward."

You shrugged, "The guild's in debt right? I heard from Max," you replied, "Money isn't a big issue for me, so I figured I'll just put most of my reward money besides about forty percent of it into the guild and get rid of the debt."

"Ah," Macao looked away and you heard him sniff. He rubbed his face while facing away from you before turning back around and smiling at you, and you didn't comment about the slight redness in his eyes, "Well let's get this money squared away in the safe then and then we can go find the landlord lady and get you your apartment."
