Chapter 3

As the day of the appointment of Hwarang was only one day away, the king was enjoying taking a walk in the capital.

"General, isn't the weather good today. The sun is shining brightly, the wind here fells nice and the smell of delicious food is also making me happy. What do you think?" says Wang Jeong.

"Ah! I told you not to call me General when I am not even a general anymore and what if someone heard you? You should be more careful with your words Your Highness." replies Oh Soon Hwae while looking around.

"Then what should I call you when you are the one calling me Your Highness in the market. Leave it I will just take a stroll and come back you should go and eat that dumplings you are staring at from a long time."

"No, Your Highness you should not go anywhere alone. It could be dangerous. I will accompany you."

"Don't worry about me, I am a grown up man now. I will be back before you finish eating your dumplings." saying this Wang Jeong disappears in the crowd leaving Oh Soon Hwae alone.

"Ah really! His Highness never listens to me." murmurs Oh Soon Hwae.

Wang Jeong observes the paths, the houses and various places in the capital as he walks. He also observes the behavior of the people and thinks,

"These people here living in the capital are really very different from the ones which live in small villages. These people are more greedy, mean and will do anything for money, but they are not the only ones to blame, the nobles also treat them in an inconsiderate way and-"

His thinking is interrupted as a girl bumps into him and then tries catching her as she is about to fall but ends up falling with her.

"Are you okay Miss? Did you get hurt anywhere?" asks Wang Jeong.

The girl gets up angrily and says,

"Ah! Really! Can't you see a lady in this bright sunlight that you made me fall. I also lost that scoundrel I was trying to catch."

"Look here Miss I was walking properly, you came in my way out of a sudden what was I suppose to do and instead of apologizing to me you are-"

"What apology do you need huh? If you had not come in my way I would have caught that bastard and have given him a nice beating."

"Look here Miss you-"

The girl walks away even before listening to Wang Jeong.

"What rude people are living in the capital, they don't even have manners." murmurs the king to himself.

With this little incident happening the king angrily goes to the dumpling shop to find Oh Soon Hwae. As soon as he arrives he sees that Oh Soon Hwae is sleeping there after getting drunk with few commoners.

"Hey!" he shouts loudly in the general's ears, "Get up now or else I will leave you here and go. Get up I said." Seeing that Oh Soon Hwae doesn't get up the king leaves the shop and heads to the tavern he was originally staying at.

As the king enters his room he just sits and thinks about the things that happened during the whole day and talks to himself,

"I guess after taking on the throne I will have many more things to do than I had imagined. The whole capital is ruled by the nobles as they have become very rich after stealing the money from the palace and normal people. Also as I was walking today I realized most of the shops are owned by the nobles and-"

The king remembers about the lady then stops for a while and says,

"Why was that lady so rude? I swear if I meet her again I will teach her a nice lesson. No, it is better not to meet someone like this, at least I will be in peace."

Thinking about these things the king falls asleep as he has a long day ahead waiting for him, as it is the day he will be facing the queen as a Hwarang which will also be a surprise for her.
