Exo Tech

'It's not that apparent but it's there…' Chrome thought while looking through the window...

After the teacher finished his speech and sat down on the first seat, Chrome finally got to enjoy some silence as he viewed the scenes and places that the bus passed by, which looked quite similar to what he was used to, albeit having some signs of change…

Chrome knew that these changes were all the after-effects of the 'Day of the Awakening', from the memories he managed to collect from alter Chrome, as the people all around the world not only experienced a great wave that came on the form of supernatural abilities, but most humans also have a visible increase in their Exos ratings as they could produce more Exos with some of them who have actually obtained a huge boost in Exos productivity as their own special ability.

Thanks to this fast-forwarding effect, humanity was able to accelerate their own research on the energy termed as Exos, managing to develop medications such as the Awakening Pill and also start a whole new branch of technology called 'Exo Tech'.

'Exo Tech' was the result of the scientists and researchers' hard work on developing methods to use Exos as an energy source to power newly advanced machinery that wasn't possible to operate or even create through the normal energy sources…

With the appearance of the 'Exo Tech' around the world, it was natural to see such changes as Exo Tech products started getting pushed to the public market recently, but they were still minimal due to the little time that had passed since the 'Day of the Awakening', being a little more than five years.

Chrome could also remember that most of the research was actually redirected towards weaponry and destructive machines as humanity wanted to arm itself against the danger that invaded their planet, as such, domestic use of Exo Tech could still be considered as a little green sprout that still required much more water and care…

During most of the trip, Chrome didn't interact much, neither with Bryce and especially not with Alice, as he never planned to get too lost in alter Chrome's personality…

While alter Chrome's reality was very similar to that of a useless protagonist that had all types of cliches supporting him and oppressing him at the same time, Chrome wasn't going to resign to such fate, since he was forced to live a second life, he was going to live it as himself, instead of being a broken copy of alter Chrome!

He did indeed talk with Alice just as soon as they boarded the bus and even somewhat spoken in a friendly way with the awkward Bryce, but that was all to keep the current friendly relations as it is since he might need to try and invest in them later, but Chrome decided that he absolutely won't act as alter Chrome did, just accepting all the hardships of life while trying to dig through an iron floor, only to get some self-satisfaction through the support of Alice, who only made things worse in a sense…

He didn't want to be as pitiful as alter Chrome was in his flash memories, nor did he want to rely on Alice out of pity. He had his chances to grow, he only needed time, effort, and the possibly earned support that he might get from the Extra's Academy if he managed to enroll, nothing more, and nothing else!

'Forget the personality traits and focus on the important memories that he collected, especially that part…'

On one hand, Chrome respected Chrome's undeniable effort, but he denied his method, and more so denied his 'let's lay as low as possible' attitude, especially alter Chrome's…

'No… let's just forget about it…'

"We are here," the teacher stood up from his seat as he announced.

"We have finally arrived, time to find if that little pipsqueak was actually lying or not, hehe…" Krig who didn't really care about whether it was the truth or not snickered as he just wanted to create some fuss…

"Silence Krig, just focus and your own result instead," the teacher reprimanded.

"Ok teach…" Krig replied reluctantly as he left the bus…

The rest of those on the bus were mostly silent from anticipation as they left the bus one after the other before standing together in front of the big white building which looked relatively new…

There were exactly seven students, including Chrome, who entered the white building, accompanied by their teacher...

"Identify yourself."

As soon as they entered through the black frame glass, they were stopped by a guard wearing white who questioned their identity.

"We are Future High's patch who came for the examination," the teacher stepped forward as he introduced the group before taking out a card and handing it to the guard.

"Identity confirmed. You can go on." taking a quick but detailed look at the card that the teacher handed, the guard moved to the side after returning the card back.

The group of eight marched ahead as left the empty room that the guard was in through the long corridor before going through a metallic door which led to a wide fully metallic room where they met two other groups…

"Oh, Future High is finally here…" a white-haired man who seemed to be the oldest in both groups that was surrounded by 9 students said as he stroked his long but silky beard…

"Yes, sorry for being late, Crow," Chrome's teacher apologized to the old man as he seemed to respect him quite a bit.

"No worries, no worries, it's fine, young Link, now that your group is here, we can finally start the examination…" the white-haired man continued stroking his beard as he smiled to show that he wasn't bothered by the little latency…

The group that the white-haired man was part of wasn't the biggest of three as the last one boasted as much as 15 students who stood alongside their relatively young teacher, visibly suppressing the other two groups in quantity…

"Humph, some people have no discipline!" the leader of the biggest group, the black-haired young teacher, said with visible annoyance, trying to point out that the late teacher was at fault…

"I already said it's ok Jack, don't make me repeat my words," the white-haired teacher slightly opened his closed calm eyes as they reveal an eagle-like piercing gaze which he directed at the you teacher who was complaining.

"..." receiving the sharp gaze of the white hard man, Crow, the young teacher who was referred to as Jack shut his mouth as he didn't try to retort…

"Mhm… now that we are all here, little Claire, go and call for the examiner…" Crow pointed to one of the students standing beside him as his face returned to its calm countenance...

- Here's the third chapter of the week! hope you enjoy it!

- On a side note, I know that some of you might think this is just going to be another cliche novel due to the last few chapters, but in fact(at least as I planned to), it's nothing like that, quite the opposite, as I try my best to make it stand out from the other normal repeated cliche as far as I can do in a good way, of course, if you find the novel not to your taste, you are still free to stop reading it, no hard feelings, and thanks to those who believe in my (mediocre) ability to write! Cheers!
