After confirming alliance between Carl and Gilbert, Carl finally opened the book.

Without wasting time, he immediately handed the book to Catherine.
True to Gilbert's nature, the book contained no illustrations to depict the martial arts techniques. Instead, it was written in elaborate metaphors that caught the eye and were almost poetic.
