Gareth looked at Cedric in anticipation and a little impatience. The latter did not provide an answer to his brother's request and remained silent as they walked closer to the gardens. Cedric was indeed considering avoiding the princess.
As an extra character, Cedric had no desire to be in the limelight. His personality was rather reserved and shadowy, but there was something bothering him. There was a strong possibility that Drenn attacked the estate because of Princess Sylrith's visit.
"I will have to refuse that request, brother," Cedric said with a smile. If his enemies wanted to kill him just to break off the engagement, he wouldn't let them get what they want. Although he had no plans to carry on with the engagement, he would hate to let them win. "A guest is a guest."
"Don't be impudent, Cedric," Gareth barked back with rage as he stopped. "The princess asked for your presence out of courtesy. Her real aim was to congratulate our older brother."
