Entrance Exam(1)

The Next Day,

the morning of my departure had arrived, and as I packed my essentials, I felt a mix of excitement and determination. Emerging from my room, I stepped into the front yard where my family had gathered to see me off

"All the best for your exam"

Ethan told me,

"yeah, Thanks"

I replied while smiling,

"Lucian, all the best for your exam,"

my mother said with a hint of worry in her eyes.

I hugged her tighter and replied,

"Don't worry, I'll give it my all."

Turning to my father, he looked at me sternly and said,

"Remember, son, you better not return before December."

To which I nodded, and then he handed me some letters,

inside the letter were some encouraging words for me from my instructors, 

'Thanks'

I lightly thanked them in my heart,

next, my father ordered a certain person who then said something on his intercom,

*whooooommmm*

and then a hovering car came flying from the sky and landed before us,

"..."

'A goddamn hovercar!!!'

Hovercars were something extremely luxurious, only 15 to 20 people used these regularly and all of them were awakeners and top members of the top guilds, that was because the sheer price of a hovercar is in hundreds of millions and even if rented for a day, it would cost around 80 M rubies, 

Looking at my dumbstruck expression my father showed a proud smile and told me,

"Now hop on, you don't wanna be late for the exam, we have already placed your luggage inside"

looking at my proud father, I couldn't help but feel touched by the consideration he showed me.

"yeah, next time I return, it will be in December"

I told them as I looked at them with my determined eyes,

It was now May and the first semester of the academy ended in December, If a person ends up passing an exam, he or she has to enter the academy then and there, or else he may be disqualified, and the academy does not let students leave until semester breaks or in case of something urgent,

the reason the academy was so strict was due to threats from the vampires....., well that's a talk for another day.

after exchanging final hugs with my family members I hopped into the hovercar and my journey toward the academy city.

There were two days left before the exam and I had anticipated reaching there a few hours before the exam if I went by a mana train, but thanks to the hovercar I could reach there a day before the exams, which gave me some pleasure time to make extra preparations, 

"hmm....."

I let out a soft groan as I surrendered my body to the luxurious seat in the hovercar, I planned to enjoy this rare luxury to its fullest.

As I stepped out of the hovercar I was amazed by the sheer size of the city, the city was built around the academy, it was a city full of sci-fi tech you only used to see in movies back in my world, and the academy was in the center of the city, the academy itself amassed 70% of the city size, you can also say the city was built around the academy,

snapping out of my dazed state, I couldn't help but feel excited, life in this world was more exciting than the life in my previous world, every day was filled with marvels that were considered impossible before,

After saying my goodbyes to the driver of the hovercar, I moved my feet towards the hotel, the hotel already had my reservation, so I arrived at my room very easily, then I proceeded to take a shower and change my clothes after which I exited my room and went to the reception,

*tap**tap*

"excuse me, do you know the nearest way to the academy entrance exam registration center?"

I asked politely, tapping on the counter,

"Ah, are you here for the entrance exam?"

She asked, to which I nodded my head, 

"then here is a complimentary guidebook about the academy provided by our hotel, it contains all the information about the academy a person needs from roots to various facilities to the use of the said facilities"

she said, handing me a thin book with a smile on her face,

I reciprocated with a smile and took the guidebook while expressing my thanks, this book would increase the efficiency of my preparations greatly,

my preparations were relatively simple,

First, I went and registered my name for the entrance exam, the process was fast despite there being an overwhelming crowd, 

Second, I went and got myself a spare longsword, two daggers, and some herbs that helped greatly in reducing hunger and providing vitality, 

third, I prepared myself a spell scroll which contained a fireball spell that flew at a speed of 30 km/hr, this spell cost me about 15 M rubies and the last of my savings, my account was now at 10K rubies, 

Then, I went and ate a sumptuous dinner(steak) to reduce my nervousness with the remaining money, After which I returned to my hotel room and prepared to sleep,

The exam started at 10 am tomorrow and I needed to be in my best condition for the exam.
