The extra's path

Andrew was a boy who had only had one role in society: that of a victim. When he was finally stabbed to death by his own family, his last thoughts were: what a waste of life. Surprisingly, he did not see darkness, instead he saw a man and a woman smiling sweetly at him. When he realized that he was in the body of a baby, his only thought was: I am going to enjoy this life to the fullest. Unfortunately, this new world I had been born into felt very familiar, as if I had read about it somewhere before. This is my first novel in English, I hope you enjoy it and sorry for the spelling mistakes.

The begining

My father suddenly disappeared without warning, and he transported himself through the shadow of one of the monkeys.

The confused monkey turned around, but it was too late.

My father's sword decapitated it instantly.

This race of beasts was known for moving in packs and being quite territorial.

That's why the other monkeys became furious after my father decapitated their comrade.

Since they were all medium-level beasts, they could conjure mana.

A kind of black slime formed in the palms of their hands, and they threw it at my father simultaneously.

My father moved at such a high speed that I couldn't see him clearly.

He quickly approached the nearest monkey and grabbed it by the neck.

As more attacks of darkness approached, he used the monkey as a shield.

The monkey let out a cry of pain when the slime hit it. Its skin began to peel off, and after a long moment of suffering, the monkey died.

Once the beasts realized that the long-range strategy was not working, they all pounced on my father.

Sensing a large number of beasts approaching, my father murmured:

"[Flame Slash]."

Immediately, a sword of fire was conjured, slicing through all the monkeys that were close enough.

With most of the beasts defeated, the rest fled through the branches.

"Phew" my father sighed, sitting amidst the corpses.

Still in awe, I approached him.

"What's up, son? Surprised by your old man's strength?"

"Of course, Dad. What you showed me was impressive" I replied.

At that moment, I noticed that all the trees were cut or charred, revealing the beautiful full moon.

"Come, Liam, come closer, give me your hand for a moment" my father instructed.

He formed a black mass similar to what the monkeys had thrown at him earlier. Hesitant, I brought my hand closer.

He placed the small stain in my hand. At that moment, it felt as if a mildly corrosive acid had been placed in my hand.

"Ouch," I groaned in pain.

"Liam, don't reject it, accept it as if it were a part of yourself" Dad said.

I tried to follow his advice, but the pain grew increasingly intense.

"I can do this," I told myself.

Then, suddenly, I felt a tingling sensation coming from my chest that spread throughout my body.

I tried to condense this electrifying sensation in the palm of my hand.

As I condensed this strange feeling in the palm of my hand, the pain gradually subsided.

Just when I had practically eliminated the dark stain, the pain returned intensified by ten.

Seeing that I lost concentration and couldn't assimilate it, my father touched the palm of my hand, and the stain disappeared.

"Don't worry, Liam, it didn't work for me at first either" he comforted me.

"What was that?" I asked him.

"Since you have a strong affinity with darkness, I thought you might be able to learn to use mana in this way, but it seems you only felt it. It's all a matter of practice, after all, practice makes perfect" my father responded.

"Yeah, I guess it's all about practice," I murmured, feeling defeated.

After both of us had recovered, my father decided that I had enough training for the day, so we headed back home.

When we finally arrived, I lay down on my comfortable bed and fell asleep immediately.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Liam peacefully slept, in a mansion in the capital, a tragic scene was unfolding.

"Slap!" A slap landed on a child's face.

"You wretched child, you are a disgrace to this family!" shouted a man.

On the floor lay a pale, sickly-looking child.

"Please, Father, give me a chance to prove my worth," pleaded the pitiful boy.

"With awakened potential and a low affinity for the element of fire, what do you have to prove? You're just a stain on our family tree. You don't deserve to carry the Freeman name" the man said with extreme coldness.

The boy burst into tears as he received contemptuous looks from both his supposed family and the servants present.

"Leave and never dare to return" the man said.

The poor boy walked out the door with the same look of pure sadness he had when his own home despised him.

The boy had golden hair flowing down his shoulders and hazel eyes that, if it weren't for his sickly appearance and extreme thinness, could be considered handsome.

Since he no longer had a home to return to, the boy was walking through a dark forest, hoping to find a place to spend the night.

As time passed, his previously sad gaze turned into one filled with anger and resentment.

"I will never forgive them. Even if it's the last thing I do, I will destroy the Freeman family, from my father to the last servant. I won't stop until I've annihilated them all," the boy vowed to himself.

"I, Seth Free... no, Seth, will make them regret leaving me alive," Seth shouted.

Suddenly, the sound of branches being stepped on was heard, and from the bushes, a kind of wolf emerged.

It seemed that Seth's previous shout had caught the attention of other inhabitants of the forest.

"Damn it," Seth muttered before running for his life.

"How can there be monsters in the Freeman family's private forest?" Seth thought.

After running for about 10 minutes, he realized that the huge wolf was just playing with him, as if he were a toy.

Seth finally reached the edge of the forest, where a huge triangular-shaped rock was resting.

The wolf, seeing that its prey had given up, decided to finish off the poor child.

The wolf pounced on Seth mercilessly.

In a desperate attempt to block the bite of the terrifying beast, Seth blocked with his right arm.

Sadly, the wolf's strength was far superior to that of the child, and it tore off his right arm.

"AAHHH," the poor boy screamed in pain.

The arm flew off and ended up at the foot of the strange rock.

The wolf was about to deliver the final blow to the helpless child when, without warning, a strange golden light began to emanate from the peculiar rock.

A strange portal started forming around Seth's lifeless body.

The wolf tried to attack, but there seemed to be a barrier protecting Seth.

The portal completely absorbed Seth and disappeared, leaving a deathly silence in the area.

The wolf turned around and grabbed Seth's torn arm with its sharp teeth.

The beast left the forest and headed towards the main mansion.

Waiting there was a boy with a similar appearance to Seth, his older brother Damian.

He caressed the wolf and, upon seeing the arm, smiled and said:

"Good boy."
