The Extra’s Survival: Logging into the Game Master System!

The Apocalypse descended as the world turned into a game. And while everyone panicked, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with my eyes. [Logging into the Game Master’s Account!] And my ‘oh-so-average’ destiny, changed into ‘is this a cheat life?’ Kind of destiny. [Would you like to Create a Skill? GM Points will be consumed!] While others struggled to kill a single goblin, I was searching for stronger monsters. While they were happy with getting even a random weak skill, I was customizing what kind of skills I needed. Even my Talents and Gifts can be customised. The only limit was my imagination. Heck, even the hidden quests that people would trigger randomly were present in front of me even before the scenario began.  It wasn’t fair by any means. But isn’t that how life is already? [Would you like to make changes to the quests in the next scenario? GM Points will be consumed!] Is this how an apocalypse is supposed to be? I don’t know. I just tried following the script in front of everyone while trying out my cheat in hindsight. Don't get me wrong with the ‘pig eating tiger’ kind of thing. I just don’t like attention. I would rather stay with two trusted friends than with 10 fake ones. [Would you like to Initiate a Custom quest for the Players? GM Points will be consumed!] And for the players who were bullying the ‘weak’ me. One may even wonder how they ended up losing half of their stats and skills in a randomly triggered impossible type of quest.  Fate can be truly scary, you know?  One must always be careful of it.

Though unlike I was expecting, the [Sub-Quest!] did not appear. Perhaps it was a quest that would be triggered when you do something? Like killing a player or saving an NPC?

[23: 59: 32!]

The active timer showed the number of hours we had in the safe zone, and the green lighted area around the campus was probably the safe zone.

I looked at the goblin who simply stayed quiet, observing the players. I guess both the quests explain the basics to the players. You have to hunt and survive if you want to stay alive.

"Luke. What should we do now?" Julia asked as she tried to get closer to Luke. Her teary eyes would be pitiful if not for that shirt that had been unbuttoned twice from the top. It was obvious what she was trying to do.

"We should stay together-" Luke was about to speak before something interrupted him.

"We are so lucky to have you Boss!"

"Let's go hunting!"

"I am scared so I will stay here for now."

"Let's go! We will hunt together with boss!"

Fake cheers surrounded the red haired guy. He was the same person, Rey, who has collected more than a 1000 points in the previous tutorial. And looking from the strange heat at the edge of his hairs, I guess he was either [Contracted!] or had a mana related talent.

'A pushover or a villain?' I wondered as I saw him going out of the safe zone with a dozen other people. He seemed to be enjoying the air of superiority around him, and he seemed to be enjoying his role as a 'hero' here.

People like him are the first to die… or just turn psychopath and kill everyone around them.

"I hate him already," Mark spoke with an irritated expression, while Alice observed Luke asking,

"Let's ignore them. How should we proceed? Do you have a plan?"

"We will need to scout the area first. And then make a plan before attacking the monsters. Adrian, you will be our front runner again while I and Mark protect you. Our first target would be to get a good skill for Alice since she can use mana, and then slowly expand our hunt so that we can all have enough points by the end."

Luke's plan was basic but good. It would help us gather more points and also increase our chances of survival. But that would hinder my own plans…

"But I don't think I will be helpful in this situation," I made an apologetic face before explaining that my skill is limited to a very small area and I was pretty much on the weaker end of the class.

"I know that but-" Luke was still trying to get me in but the other guy, Reyan, spoke out first,

"I have a skill that decreases my presence considerably. I think I can help with scouting."

He was trying to take my place as he looked at me with a slight mocking smile. He was with Julia, who was also looking at me as if I were a baggage to them.

"It's decided then. Reyan can take Adrian's place. Also, my [Gift] increases my speed considerably so I think I can help attract the monsters and bait them for killing," and the third guy, Tristan, spoke out trying to hit the final nail in the coffin.

Alice narrowed her eyes at the Trio, while Mark was about to hit them. But before he could do anything, Luke spoke out,

"Well… if you put it that way then I don't think we can do much. I promise, I will help you out to survive this level Adrian. It's the least I can do in return."

I looked at the eyes of the 'decisive leader' of the 'perfect' team, before nodding with a humble smile," it's okay Luke. I understand. I will be waiting here for you then."

Mark wanted to retort but the teacher stopped him. Alice wasn't happy but she too needed to survive so she did not disagree. While I just observed them from a distance as they discussed their plan while leaving the safe zone.

I don't hate them for abandoning me. Since I was pretty much going to do the same if they weren't useful to me.

'I think I should wait till everyone is gone,' I thought as I stretched a little.

Looking around, most of the people had already left, while others were slowly leaving. And about 10 minutes later, I was the only one standing in the safe zone.

[Would you like to convert 1 GM point into 100 Points?]

Looking at the conversion, I then turned to the Goblin in the air, who was constantly observing me.

"Come here. I want to use the [Points Shop!]" I spoke in a dominant tone, different from the timid tone that I usually had.

"Kuku. As I thought. You had completed the [Hidden Quests] too. What did you get? Was it a skill? Or points? Hehe," he laughed sheepishly with that ugly smile of his, but I didn't care as I opened the [Shop] and checked for items that I would need in this tutorial.

Took me a few minutes, before I came across a few things that I would require.

[Would you like to convert 100 GM Points for 10000 Points?]

It felt like a waste, but it should give me a head start in my [Quest!].

"Just how many points did you amass in the second tutorial?" The goblin was flabbergasted as he looked at me. His eyes were really bulging out as he observed me, while I just put on the cloak, keeping those 2 [Stealth Potions!] in the [Inventory!].

"I should start my hunt as well. Can't let the others take over me," I looked at the apocalyptic city in front me, as the corner of my lips curled a little. For what should have made me pass out of fear, was now making me excited. It was ironic to say the least.

Stepping outside the safe zone, I used [Perception!] to see as far as I could. I wondered if I could see any monsters in the distance, and yeah, there were. Just that group, that red haired guy's group was killing them.

On the right side, I saw Luke's group also fighting against a single green goblin, while I sighed at their display of battle. It wasn't really appealing so I shifted my gaze to a bit farther where a bunch of my classmates were hiding. But since that was boring as well…

"Let's just go around the School and see if there are any monsters there," for now I just wanted to hunt peacefully.
