I'm Lost

I couldn't help but wonder what would happen next and how I would navigate through the uncertainty. As I sat there, my mind began to race with a million different scenarios, each one more terrifying than the last. I tried to calm myself down by taking deep breaths and reminding myself that everything would be okay, but it was no use. The fear had taken hold of me, and I couldn't shake it off. I wished that Xavier had stayed with me a little longer or at least given me some kind of reassurance that I would be alright. But as the minutes ticked by, I realized that I was truly alone in this situation, and that the only way out was to face my fears head-on.

"Let's not wander any further," I said to myself.

I know what to do. I need to sleep. There's no point in staying up and worrying more and more.

"Alex-"

"What? Who?" I muttered as I saw myself in that black space again.

"Alex, did you finish up your spreadsheet?" I could barely see the face, but I could definitely hear him.

"I don't know who you are, but one thing I want you to know is that I will never do any more spreadsheets in my life!" I exclaimed. "And whoever you are, please don't bother me ever again!"

"…" Everything fell silent.

As soon as I felt the shift, my mind raced with questions and curiosity. How could this be happening again? Was it possible that I had stumbled upon some sort of portal that transported me to different planes of existence? The idea seemed far-fetched, but after experiencing this phenomenon multiple times, it was becoming harder and harder to deny. Even though the sensation was becoming more familiar, it still elicited a sense of awe and wonder within me.

Although it was disorienting at first, I was beginning to embrace the unexpected journey that awaited me each time I was transported to another plane.

As I took in my surroundings, a sense of deja vu washed over me. It was as if I had been here before, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Suddenly, I caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye and turned just in time to see myself walking toward me. It was a surreal experience - seeing a carbon copy of myself, right down to the clothes I was wearing. I couldn't help but wonder if this was some kind of parallel universe or alternate reality. As we got closer to each other, I could feel my heart racing with anticipation.

I tried taking a step, but it was as if my legs were stuck to the ground.

"H-Hey!" I yelled. "Don't come over here! Turn back! Do that damn spreadsheet instead!" But he didn't budge. Or rather, I didn't budge.

The only reason I was yelling was that by now, this place, this incident has been engraved on my soul. "Lisa!" That stupid brat.

HIT

I didn't have the courage to see myself crushed again, so I closed my eyes and waited for it to end. However, I began to feel uneasy. I opened my eyes and saw myself walking. My immediate reaction was to check the scene of the incident, but it was not on me!

"Lisaa-!!" I heard a woman crying her eyes out.

"What is happening…?" I was beginning to pull my hair in frustration.

I know this isn't how things should have happened, I know this isn't right! I went through the torture of getting killed, this isn't real!

"It's real."

"Wh-What?! Who's there!?" I exclaimed.

"Don't mind me," a voice echoed. "I'm only here briefly, so listen to me carefully."

"Huh?"

"Think carefully about the accident. If it really just wanted to create havoc, wouldn't it have been a better choice to hit that little girl instead of you?" he said, "Why did it only turn at the last moment and hit only you? Not a single person nearby was hurt, only you died in that accident. Isn't that suspicious to you?"

"Ma-Maybe…"

"I-I have to go now," he said hurriedly, "Think about who you trust in this world."

"W-Wait! Stop! I need to ask you something too-!"

I was now wide awake and saw myself in sweat in that humongous bed. "Was I having a nightmare?"

I went to sleep hoping I would get some peaceful time, but somehow I'm even more worried about my future here! What is happening? It's as if I'm living an imaginary life. Nothing seems to make sense, it's as if I'm in a deep pit, and the moment I think I got the hold of it, something comes like BAM and throws me in a pit again.

"Why is it happening to me?!" I yelled, knowing I wouldn't receive any response.

Growling

"I suppose I should eat something." I stepped out of bed and went to the kitchen.

The meal in the kitchen was already prepared. Did Elsi do it? I should put something against the gate to prevent her from coming here again. My privacy is important to me, as it's one of the few things I have left.

I sat on the couch reminiscing about my nightmare. What did it mean when he said it was suspicious? Although it was true if either of us had died, that girl would have been a better choice to kill. But then why me? And only me.

Now that I think of it, that vehicle didn't have any driver, yet somehow it took a sharp left. I didn't know how to react to it then since I was watching myself die over and over again, but now it's definitely suspicious.

Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, I let out a loud roar and punched my arms in the air. I couldn't handle everything that was going on around me. That's when it hit me.

As Xavier suggested, I realized that I needed to learn more about this world in order to feel more comfortable and in control. With that in mind, I decided that it was time to hit the books and start diving into the knowledge that was available to me. There was so much to discover and I was determined to gain as much insight as possible.
